This review outlines a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience with a recent purchase from Gear-up.me . I purchased a gaming PC, a high-end graphics card on August 8, 2025, and from start to finish, the process was a series of failures, from a defective product to utterly poor customer service. I am writing this to warn potential buyers and detail the issues that have left me completely dissatisfied.
Defective hardware
The core of my complaint lies with the product itself. Within 3 weeks of receiving the gaming laptop, I encountered a major, recurring hardware issue. The computer's graphics card began to show severe artifacting and would cause the system to crash during normal use and the cooling system failed, causing the CPU to overheat dramatically even when idle. This is completely unacceptable for a product of this price point, which was advertised as high-performance.
Inadequate customer support
The problems with the hardware were compounded by an abysmal customer service experience.
Communication breakdown: I initiated a support ticket on 1st week of September with a detailed description of the issue. After several days of no response, I attempted to contact the company via phone. I was met with long hold times and unhelpful agents who seemed unfamiliar with the standard warranty process.
Repetitive troubleshooting: When I finally spoke to a representative, I was asked to perform basic, scripted troubleshooting steps that I had already completed. This wasted my time and demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of the problem I was facing.
Lack of ownership: The agent refused to acknowledge that the product was defective, instead suggesting I was at fault for the problem. At no point did they take ownership of the issue or offer a sincere apology for my poor experience.
Failure to provide a resolution: After three weeks of back-and-forth communication, the company has still failed to offer a viable solution, such as a refund or a replacement. My requests for a resolution were either ignored or met with unhelpful replies that did not address the core problem.

Refused to refund a defective item
The laptop lagged out of the box. I asked to return it within the designated 72 hours. They said that they only accept returns for unopened items. This means it's impossible to test the product and return it if it is defective. Additionally, even if the product is unopened, I would have to pay 20% of the purchase price for "restocking fee."

Had you informed us that the laptop was lagging, we would have gladly assisted you through technical support or a warranty claim. The unit you received was factory sealed, brand new, and comes with extended 2 years warranty.
We are not accepting opened products back for the reason that the factory seal was broken and we have no control over what was already done with the product. We were willing to make an exception in your case and accept your opened laptop back against restocking fee.
There are no restocking fees on unopened products.
