Was really informative and great fun.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day on this class. I took it in the hopes of getting a broad overview of woodworking and whistlestop tour of DIY with that context, especially for a near-beginner. The day was really well-run, chock full of useful info and tips and has left me with a great ground-level intro of where to start, particularly around the tools I already have, where there are gaps, but most importantly, the huge range of quality work you can get done with actually just a few tools and techniques. David was really clear throughout, gave the info in a digestible order at a fast clip, answered loads of questions patiently throughout, and I've come away with extremely practical tips and more confidence on what I can do next. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks folks!

David is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced yet at the same time patient and encouraging to a complete novice. The course exceeded all my expectations. Thank you I feel confident to take on some projects and will be back for further courses.

David is patient and shows each individual on how to handle tools and equipment safely. He explains each tool in detail on what they can and can't do.

David is an excellent and knowledgeable teacher. Happy to adapt his sessions and to answer any and all questions you have. I came away from my course feeling more confident in my home maintenance skills, and ready to use the new skills too! Would highly recommend.

Great day with David and 3 other students. I enjoyed the fact that class size is small and you get plenty of opportunity to ask David any questions and tap into his wealth of knowledge. Thoroughly enjoyable day, will come back for additional classes!

I attended the spray paint course with David. David has extensive knowledge on all things relating to spraying, the course looked at all the key fundamentals and what setup is required to spray. David is brilliant at breaking things down to help aid understanding. The second part of the day was practical with the gun again which was very helpful and enjoyable. David set drills in order to learn and gain experience. I left the course knowing exactly what was required to be a successful sprayer, with practice. Aside from that David is a great guy and cannot do enough to help you learn and would highly recommend.

Did the welding course with Neil. What an amazing day. I was a complete novice but was interested to learn the basics to help with art work, and minor repair work.
Great workshop, all the equipment provided and in a great setting.
Came away from the day buzzing and full of ideas. Plus if you have any interest in motor racing you get to spend the day with a formula 1 legend!

I am also signed up for one of the joinery courses next month - really looking forward to it.

David is full of knowledge but equally makes you feel that no question is too silly. I loved the way we not only learned health and safety around the tools but how to maintain and change blades etc. He wasn't encouraging us yo spend lots of money and talked about second hand tools too. It was a really interesting day and has given me a lot more confidence in using power tools at home. I hope to come back for more courses. I have shed envy too.

I had a great day learning new skills. I got lucky and has some really friendly people on the course and great instruction from David, really knowledgably and insightful approach to the craft of woodworking.

A highly recommended course for those exploring a new hobby or wanting to develop and enhance their knowledge.

David is a very good teacher and gave me the confidence and skills for me to try to make some more things.

While I really enjoyed the day and learnt a lot. I was disappointed that there wasn't much hands on. I was looking forward to making a basic joint.

I used to build bits and bobs in wood using nails and screws...

Went to this course with open mind and was extremely pleased with both the experience and what I learned.

I don't know what yet but I'm sure I'll build beautiful things very soon!

I took the DIY and Home Maintenance Course, a one day course which covered everything I needed to know. David initially gauged our experience and ability and tailored it to suit our needs and covered specific issues we had at home so that we could tackle them confidently. It was hands on, so we used many of the tools we might need in the future. David was clear and made sure we understood before moving on to the next topic. An incredibly useful course for the beginner or improver…or just to build confidence. David is brilliant teacher and I learned so much. Thank you!

Dave is a superb teacher. I would recommend this experience to anyone whether beginner or experienced.

My 15 year old son did the “make a stool” home Ed workshop. It was brilliant. They both made a really sturdy stool over 3 hours, with David making sure it was absolutely level (so no wobbling!). Both kids really enjoyed themselves and learnt some new skills. You can park just outside which is an added bonus, and there’s a coffee shop 5 minutes away if you are waiting around.

I've now done a few workshops with Dave - hanging doors, basic electricals, hanging shelves and a 1:1 furniture making course - and I've found them all to be invaluable. He's really knowledgeable and friendly - he explains concepts with ease, demonstrates and then allows you to practise the skills. Dave has taught me fundamental DIY skills that I really need but was never taught! I've learnt so much and look forward to going back for more.

I had a 1:1 tutorial with David to learn how to use my power tools properly (mainly jigsaw and circular saw), how to cut straight and true, and how to make some shelf units I am planning on custom building. The session was so useful and I learned so much. David gave lots of tips - there was a lot of demonstrating and then observing what I was doing to ensure that I wasn’t making small mistakes which would ruin the job ( which I was!!!!). It was great having this kind of lesson. Yes, you can learn a lot from the internet but if you aren’t aware of the little errors you are building in to your work and the impact they will have you will continue to make them.
David packed the lesson and made sure I got full value out of the 3 hours.
Totally worthwhile.
