Green Eco Energy 

A highly excitable young man phoned and banged on about loft insulation, condensation etc our house was on a list of properties our neighbours had already had a survey, I wondered why it would take 30 minutes as our loft is in a semi detached 1930's property, Smelt a big Rat, he wouldn't give me a contact number kept on repeating the mantra my manager will phone back and answer all your questions, I repeated I wanted a contact number. The response was 'have a nice day' then he put the phone down

Seems other people have had the same call from a chap called Chris calling from a variety of Bournemouth numbers 01202 137xxx.
Cold caller called Chris. Launched into having a survey done regarding loft insulation. Suggested mine was the old type & could cause damp & mould. When asked how he got my number, he said his manager would answer those type of questions when he phoned me back within 30 minutes.
When I asked which company he was from, he said, "the Green Eco Centre London". Also asked which age bracket I was in, 50-80 or over 80. Also was asked to spell my surname!
If I interrupted and asked him anything, he said his manager would answer that. He did not deviate from a script he was probably reading from.

Chris, (coincidence that all his co-workers have the same name) has called me five times over the last few weeks, same spiel as other reviewers, said he was from Green Eco centre in London, wouldn’t answer when I asked why he was ringing from a Bournemouth number, have reported to TPS to no avail.

I have had the same experience from this conman calling me on 01202 137565. Treat with caution

First, not sure if this is the same company as 'Green Eco Energy' but reviews here all refer to 'Green Eco Centre'
They could be 2 completely different companies so please be aware this refers to 'Green Eco Centre'.

The company is not real or is a spoof of a genuine company. There is no registration for this company at 'Companies House'.
There is a massive delay over the phone so suspect he is useing a spoof number routed over the internet.
Strangely he uses the name 'Chris' on all calls.
Not sure what his scam is and how it works.
He calls to say he is the representative in your area and claims that your property is on a list of older properties with older style loft insulation that can cause damp. He then offers to arrange a 'FREE' visit to check your insulation.
He then wants you to confirm you surname and says his boss will call you back.
That is as far as I have got as I won't give him my name so he hangs up.
I think for the next time I will have a fake name and address ready so I can find out more.
Again, not sure how his scam works, maybe he is just trying to get personal information to pass on or they actually do come round and try to scam you with other loft insulation.
It sounds like he is reading a prepared script as he uses the same words and if you interupt him, he stops and then continues the same script with very little deviation.
I don't know how to report this, checked online for various ways to report scammers but there seems to be no solid way to do that and so he will just continue.
Please beware of this.

Oh, he claims to be in London but the number comes out as Bournemouth.

I have just had a call from Chris from "The Eco Centre, West London" calling now from 01202 137540... same spiel... thank you to those previously reporting him

Chris of Green Eco Centre (01202 137510) sounded like a clever computer, with audio clips being played at me, different clips in response to my questions - but there was a lot of overlap and disjointedness. Wanted me to sign up to a roof insulation survey as most of my neighbours had done (statistically unlikely). I asked for a number and he said his manager would give it when he returned the call. Sounds very suspicious to me - and many other reviewers feel the same way. Be wary!

This guy just tried to scam me too - luckily I was in front of my computer and could see the Trustpilot reviews - when I asked him if he had seen them he completely ignored me and carried on asking if I had converted my loft. Scary - we need to protect the oldies from thugs with phones

'Chris' or 'Tom' continues his dubious tactics. When I pointed out that the call was unsolicited, began with an obvious error ('the loft insulation you've had installed recently' - only if you call 10 years recent) I had no dealings with the company, his call originated in the UK from a landline and he and the company had disregarded my subscription to the TPS meaning the company was clearly disreputable or incompetent or both; he gave up.

Now I can cope with this unnecessary hassle, but why should I? We have legislation in place to deal with this. The antics of this company are clearly evidenced here and reports to authorities apparently disregarded meaning that those more vulnerable than myself may be sucked into unnecessary costs, harassment and dodgy (if not illegal) behaviour.

The authorities have the evidence to act but as we are increasingly finding across so many fields in the UK, they are either unwilling or insufficiently resourced to enforce the law. Unchallenged illegal and dodgy practices merely encourage escalation of such practices. Please will someone get a grip!

Just had a cold call from 'Chris' trying to sell me loft insulation. He knew he was doing something dodgy and put the phone down when asked why he was phoning me without a positive lead to go on.

Chris called me from 01202 137542. Usual spiel. All the houses in my area have been done. They are just mopping up the last few who are not on the up to date attic insulation. Designed to make you feel like you're losing out/behind the times. Couldn't answer very simple questions about his company size and who they were. Got the name though. He then proceed to say his manager would confirm details and then proceeded to try and get personal information. As soon as I declined saying I would first verify who they were and call them back if interested he hung up. So rude!

Likely a scam. Why would they hang up otherwise? If it wasn't a scam then their business skills and etiquette need some polish!

I also had a call from Chris last week claiming to be from Green Eco Centre... Started off with my insulation in the loft being out of date, fibre glass etc etc. Was asking me to confirm my details and if I was the householder.
I said I was not comfortable giving my details... he hung up.
I did a 1471 to get a teleohone number... it was 01202 137514.

Definitely a scammer

I received a telephone call from someone called Chris calling from 01202137523 claiming to represent The Green Eco Centre and offering to arrange a survey of my roof to determine whether my insulation was the inferior old fashioned fibreglass insulation which has now been found to cause condensation and mould. Although he freely gave me the name of the company I said that I was always suspicious of unsolicited calls of this nature and would need to call the company before I would provide any information. He kept ignoring my requests for a telephone number but repeatedly asked for my name which I refused to give. He persisted in asking me to spell my name and it became clear to me that it was some kind of scam so I put the phone down.

Like other people a call from thus company but their numbers change each time. This time 01202137523. Claimed my loft insulation was the old wool fibre glass type which has been now found to be damaging
. (False) Claimed this information was on a register that he referred to. (False as there is no such register) From last time the firm phoned I think they were pushing the soray foam on inside of roofs. Technical experts often mention that this stops ventilation of the wood and can there cause damage.

Chris telephoned me today, it took a persistent discussion to find out who is working for, then eventually he said Green Eco Energy advisor based in south london. I had previously had calls from people claiming to be the energy advisor for my postcode.
I informed him that I considered his call harassment and that under U.K. law it is an offence to use a phone to harass people. I also requested he removed my phone number from his companies database and that he had no authority to digitally store my number or any information about me.
It made me feel good to take control of the conversation, and he did repeat himself a few times trying to re-establish control of the conversation, however at the end of the conversation he was very apologetic, especially when I start reading some of the reviews here to him down the phone.
Not sure if it will stop anyone else from Green Eco telephone number 01202137530 contacting me, but the number he was phoning from is in Bournemouth and he said he was in South London.

Got called today by the name of Chris and he put the phone down as soon as I asked for his telephone no so I could call back. I then searched the company and realised it is a scam! He wanted to come for a free survey for over 50s .... there is no such thing. Do not invite anyone into your home. Insulation can be arranged free for some people by the energy companies or certified companies.

I have reported this company on the .gov.uk page and on the BT scam page, 3 or 4 times a day over the last three weeks - beyond a joke!

Another phone call from 'Chris' today different phone number this time (which I will block) no point taking it further with TPS this is their reply to my complaint...

Thank you for contacting us about the unsolicited direct marketing call you received on a telephone number you have registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) or Corporate TPS (CTPS).
You may already be aware that the TPS does not have the facilities to know which companies are calling you and therefore relies on the complainant to ascertain this information upon the receipt of an unsolicited direct marketing call.
Although you have supplied contact details for this company, from previous investigations with this particular company (Who’s details you have supplied) TPS has ascertained that they are not responsible for unsolicited direct marketing calls made.
It would appear that they are misrepresented by a company using the same or similar trading name and/or spoofed their telephone number. However, we have not been able to positively identify the offending company. Please note that TPS does not have the facility to track or trace telephone calls that you have received.
Although we have been unable to raise this complaint against the offending company we will include in our regular report to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), they are the body responsible for enforcing the Privacy and Electronic (EC Directive) Communications Regulations 2003.
Complaints investigated by us are referred to the ICO and are incorporated into their investigation into nuisance calls. Your information will help the ICO to direct its resources against those organisations that are causing the greatest nuisance.
The ICO has and continues to issue fines against companies for making unsolicited direct marketing calls to telephone numbers registered with TPS.

He's now calling himself Tom and calling from 01202 137508 today (4th October 2021) Using all the same 'tactics' and phrases as other people have reported in reviews below.

Spammer, has called 5 or 6 times over the last month. Ignores requests to stop calling. Reported to the telephone preference service.
