Groover has many flaws and they don't seem to fix them

I had a disappointing experience using Groover. Initially, the platform seemed promising for independent artists trying to connect with curators and industry professionals, but my recent experiences left me frustrated and unconvinced about the value being offered.

I received vague and defensive responses from curators after showing interest in their promotional offer, and the communication ultimately led nowhere. What made the experience worse was the lack of transparency and accountability once the conversation disappeared after the 14-day limit, making it impossible to properly track or reference previous feedback and exchanges.

As an independent artist investing both time and money into promotion, I expected a more reliable and transparent system, especially when paid interactions and curator feedback are involved.

The platform may still work for some people, but in my experience, it felt difficult to distinguish genuine opportunities from vague promotional upselling. I’d advise artists to be cautious, ask detailed questions, and manage expectations before spending heavily on campaigns.

Hi Zameer, I'm sorry you had this experience on Groover. Could you please follow up with me directly on dorian (a) groover . co to provide more details? Did a curator offer you a paying service after they responded to you on Groover? Because this is likely against our guidelines. We really want to check this out and see how we can help you get better results here.

I don't exactly know what you mean with " once the conversation disappeared after the 14-day limit". None of the conversations on Groover disappear.

The Goods and the Bads

I have received several comments about my music that hasn’t been the greatest. Then there is that one group likes and gives positive reviews. This are the ones who make up for every no.

The best UI/experience because so…

The best UI/experience because so professional and coherent. First time trying Groover my music was shared to two playlists. The second time to a radio station/Social media review. I knew my music was quality. But with other sites I never had these awesome results. Groover is the best!

Get Your Music Out There

I found the feedback from a wide range of sources to be extremely valuable. It is always delivered in a respectful and constructive manner. And the sheer volume of feedback has helped me to become more detached about it (in a positive way). It has also been a thrill to see my niche tracks find a home on some playlists. Without groover, they would have probably only existed in my head and on my laptop. Even those eccentric, creative brain-child pieces of which every musician has a few have managed to land on a playlist somewhere. And the more mainstream pieces have found playlists as well. I’ve been invigorated creatively by this whole process.

Broken promises and no support – very frustrating experience

Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience.

My song was officially accepted by a playlist curator on Groover, with a clear and explicit promise that it would be added to their playlist. That was the whole point of using the platform. But that promise was simply never fulfilled.

I followed up multiple times, sending 5 emails to the curator over several months. Not a single reply. No explanation. No accountability. It has now been over 6 months since the placement was promised, and nothing has happened.

What makes this even worse is the complete lack of support from Groover itself. I contacted the support team on January 7th with all relevant details, expecting at least a basic response or some kind of help. I never received any reply at all. Not even an acknowledgment.

This is not just disappointing, it feels like being ignored as a paying user. You invest money and trust into the platform, only to end up chasing empty promises with zero support when things go wrong.

If curators can make commitments without following through, and the platform does nothing about it, the entire system loses credibility. I cannot recommend Groover at all.

Groover is really great

Groover is really great. For my first release, I found a playlist that went well with my song, and it had a big effect on it. If you're looking for a way to promote your music, I'd definitely recommend Groover.

Sending lots of love!

Groover is an amazing tool for promotion and Feedback

So far groover has been an amazing tool to get my music out there and get some good feedback. It was my first time using them so i was hesitant but i only spent around $12-$14 total so thought it would be a risk worth taking. By spending that I’ve gone from 7 monthly listeners on Spotify to sitting around 800 right now just from curators sharing to their playlists, sharing with their teams, writing blogs about it. There are some that are harder to get into but even tho they don’t share, they provide constructive critism on ways to improve - I’ve had 3 curators not share and they were honest about my music but said it didn’t fit their playlist genre but offered insights on what to do that would help. I’ll definitely keep using groover!
