I bought a pair of shoes from this company, but unfortunately the size did not fit. Normally, returning shoes and ordering a new pair should be simple, but here it was extremely frustrating. The website provides instructions for returns, but in reality they are impractical. I received only an automatic email with return instructions, but no real support when I tried to follow them.
The only option they offered was to ship the shoes back with DHL at my own expense, which costs an unreasonable amount of money. I expected proper customer service to assist me with the return, but instead I was left on my own. Very disappointing experience – I will think twice before ordering again.

Missleading marketing and terrible customer service

I ordered 3 pairs of shoes and 1 was the wrong size. I followed the return instructions and when I went to check on the progress of my return it said that my whole IP address was blocked from their website! Acting like a scam of a company

I'm an Irish customer so pick my sizes using UK sizing. The size guide on the website say EU 45 = UK 10.5, which is my size. When I received the shoe, the label inside the show said EU 45 UK 11 and the shoes were too big. If the website had said EU 45 = UK 11, then I would have gone smaller. If the shoe label said UK 10.5, and they were still too big, then I would have accepted that. However I believe the misleading size guide is the company's error.
I contacted customer service and received very unhelpful and rude replies. All I wanted was my return postage fee to be covered, but was denied.
Be consistent with your size guide. If you do not wish customers to choose based on UK or US sizes, then don't provide them in the guide when you're not willing to standover them.

I ordered two pairs of shoes. One of them, after about a week and a half of wearing it a total of maybe 3 times, was already starting to fall apart.
I sent them an email on June 2nd with visual proof, stating that this can't be and that I wish to get some sort of recompensation or to get the shoes replaced. It's July 1st now and I have not received any response yet.
This proves to show that Groundies does not only sell low quality and not very durable shoes, but also that they don't have the greatest customer service either.
So, should you ever have an issue with your order, don't expect to get a reply from them.

I bought a pair of Groundies sandals which only lasted one summer. The skin lost its colour and completely ripped off on the front. The worst value for money!

Terrible customer service, I bought two pairs of shoes, I got no receipt or any indication that I had paid, so I paid again, and the money has come off my account twice and I have heard nothing, and they don't answer my email and there is no English speaking consultant. I am starting to worry that this is actually not a legit site! They have over 500 euros of mine, I have no shoes, and I can't reach them.

I really think it's beyond reproach that you don't write more clearly how difficult it is to return a package to you. It's only during the return process that you discover that you have to send your package to the Czech Republic, which is a country outside the EU, which means that I have to figure out how to fill out and print customs papers. I've spent 27 euros and over an hour researching how to return the package. And I still haven't found a place where I can fill out the customs papers that will prevent me from paying customs twice. That's absolutely extreme. How can you think of moving your return address to the Czech Republic instead of Germany when you have to send a return from Denmark. And it's only when I write an email to you that you tell me that it's relevant to write 'returned goods' and 'delivered duty paid' on the package. It should be on the website in the return guide. I really wouldn't recommend anyone to shop with you unless they come from one of the five countries with the option of a return label. I'm so angry and disappointed about it. I have a pair of Groundies sneakers that I'm really happy with, but all four pairs of shoes had a bad fit for me. The Kos sandals chafed at my ankle. I'm so afraid I won't get my money back because this seems so unprofessional. It's been a really bad experience shopping with you.

I was informed by Groundies US customer support team in an email that newsletter subscribers are eligible for free returns from the US. When I received my order and asked for free return label multiple times via email and website, I received no response.

Over the years, I have been writing about the benefits of minimalist/barefoot footwear, and have been purchasing minimalist shoes from Groundies.
I have also been recommending Groundies to family, friends, and readers.
Back in February, I purchased three pairs of Groundies boots. Two pairs worked out very well, but one pair was clearly defective. I get the same size Groundies shoes and boots, and they always fit, but one pair of the boots had extremely tight stitching, and I couldn't even get my foot through the boot shaft.
I asked for a return label because Groundies has a policy that if a product is defective, they will supply the return label.
Groundies claimed the boots were just the wrong size and refused to send me a return label. I took it upon myself to go to a shoe repair specialist and he agreed that the pair has manufacturing issues, and it would cost me more to repair than it's worth.
I emailed Groundies this information, but they still insisted there are no issues with the boot, and it's just a matter of sizing, and that I need to return the boots at my own expense.
I followed instructions on the Groundies website and mailed the boots back to a processing facility in California by May 1, as discussed. A couple of weeks later, the boots were returned back to me because apparently I needed to have mailed them back to Germany. I checked, and it would cost me close to $100 to ship defective, poorly manufactured boots to Germany.
I am extremely frustrated--I have been a good customer and have promoted their shoes over the years, and now they have essentially stolen my money.

I ordered a pair of Groundies Phoenix boots, they arrived, great boots but the fit was unsuitable so I had to return. Unfortunately my returned parcel was refused by German customs and it was sent back to me with a sticker saying no customs label. Royal Mail had attached one to the underside of the box..I'd say make sure your label is on the top of the box! I contacted Groundies customer service with photos etc and it did take a few weeks to respond [you get an auto reply first then need to wait]. I wasn't sure what the outcome would be but they refunded my original purchase price. Just be patient, honest and polite would be my advice.

I recently bought a pair of Zurichs. The whole process from ordering to delivery was good but more importantly I finally get to wear barefoot shoes without looking like I've given up on myself. They just look like casual shoes with the benefits of barefoot shoes without that absurd paper thin soles other brands seem to be obsessed with and make me feel like there's a battle between the concrete and my tendons. Like, hey, my toes need space outside of the jungle too you know? 🤪 The sole is not too thick not too thin and they have different models with different soles and widths from my understanding and that's great!

I bought 3 pairs from them and then they told me they could not verify the tax number, so they contacted me to check it, cancel the order and order it again.
10 days later, they are not answering any emails and they still have the money. There is no cancellation button on the site and everything has to be made via email, which they do not answer. Avoid them like plague and buy Groundies in another reseller.
Update 6/5 they still don't answer any email, they still have my money, I have no shoes whatsoever.

Update 11/04: The parcel is being sent back and I'm getting a refund because they can't "re-ship" the same parcel, telling me to place a new order when I get my refund, yeah I will not do that. Thanks for the help, I'll just get Vivos instead.

This is my first time ordering a pair of shoes from this company. I'm in the UK, so our address format's a little different from that of a German one. I tried my best to input my UK address into their German format on the website.
As soon as I got the confirmation email, I noticed something was off with my address as it didn't have a street number. I waited to get the tracking number to see if the address was wrong on there as well or if it was just a quirk of their email format. Eventually, I didn’t get any update on my order for about 3 days, so I replied to the confirmation email (which was sent from the same address they say to contact) asking for an update and clarifying "here this is my address, in case you got it wrong." I didn’t get a reply, but instead, I immediately received a tracking number. So, I assumed they fixed the address issue by indirectly responding with the tracking number.
However, after a few days, when my parcel made its way to the UK, I noticed that as soon as it got to customs, the address was listed as incomplete, probably because it didn’t have a complete street address. Now, I think it’s being sent back, as the tracking number no longer works. I emailed again, asking for an update and provided my correct address. Instead, they told me to contact the courier directly (with the tracking number that no longer works).
I have ordered many products online, and I have never run into a case where I, as the receiver, have more communication and authority with the courier than the sender does. To me, this reads like a cop-out and an attempt to wash their hands of responsibility for failing to correct the address. Regardless of whether it was me who inputted it wrong or them, at that point, it doesn't matter. What matters is that they didn’t correct it in time or in case I sent them the wrong address they didn't question the fact that I gave them no street number, and now they refuse to take responsibility and put it all on me to figure out this issue.
I cannot comment on the quality of the product, as I'm not sure where it is or if it’ll even arrive. But I would certainly hope they are nice shoes, given that they were £150.

I own six pairs of their products, I bought my first pair early in 2022. I love the concept and the products (otherwise I wouldn't own 6 pairs and I wouldn't bother to open trustpilot to write a review).
Why two stars only?
The quality seems to be declining, models's quality, shape, measurement... all is changing and unreliable.
I contacted support with a basic question about measure, and I got a copy and paste answer. It's still better than nothing, but it's disappointing to see a company grow so fast at the expense of their quality. It seems like I need to look for anohter startup, who is willing to gain a "new"customer. As the company grows, they neglect both the product reliability and the returning customers. Shade.

I bought a pair of barefoot shoes from Groundies and I absolutely loved them. They were smart and comfortable. However, the sole developed cracks, even though I hardly used them, and the sole hasn’t even worn down. Now, I have a crack on each shoe and it's letting in water when the floor is only slightly wet.
When I contacted the company about the warranty, they explained that the brand was sold to Groundies GmbH after EOD GmbH went into insolvency. While I understand the legal side, I find this incredibly disappointing. As a customer, I believe that when a brand is taken over by a new owner, they should take responsibility for existing warranties, especially when the brand, products, and operations remain largely unchanged.
In the spirit of fair customer service, I had hoped that Groundies GmbH would reconsider my claim. Unfortunately, this experience has left me frustrated and disappointed as they continue to refuse fulfilling my waranty claim which I should be entitled to.

DON'T BY FROM THIS COMPANY! I have reported this company to the police. They drew my money but I didn´t got any shoes (no confirmation of the the purchase either). This was about three weeks ago, and they haven't answer any of my e-mails.

(In 2023 because I did not know you were still on business!) I bought 3 pairs of Groundies. When my shoes broke after a relatively short use, i asked for a replacement, reclaim, or other solution and was denied because groundies claimed bankrupcy and could not offer a solution. Now i see that they are very much still in business, and i am dissatisfied. The shoe itself has many cute styles, but the 2 pairs i've used broke at the sole after little use, letting in water.
"We are sorry to hear that your shoes have a defect. The 3-year warranty that was offered was discontinued in May 2022 and only applied to the sole and not the upper. Regarding your possible warranty claim, we unfortunately have bad news for you, as we cannot offer you a service option. You can find the reason for this in the following press release:
'It is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you that despite all our efforts over the last few months, we have had to file for bankruptcy."
In this case i feel like, since Groundies is still in business it would have been very nice to have been offered a solution. As i said, many cute styles i would have loved to be a repeating costumer. I find it very strange to use corona, and the Ukraine war as scapegoats for why i cannot reclaim a bad product.
I also attached pictures of the SOLES and was told that the warranty is not valid for the upper part, only the soles.. but the soles were clearly the problem.

Poor experience. Ordered some sandals, received the wrong style. Emailed them and the style I wanted was not in stock so they sent me a return label which was free, however, I needed to print and fill out customs forms as well as the label which as I don’t have a printer meant I had to pay to have them printed. That was over a week ago and I still haven’t received the refund. So due to their mistake they have had my money for over two weeks now. What they should have done is refund me straight away and ask me to send them back at my convenience, or ask me to just donate them. I’ve had inconvenience and am out of pocket due to their mistake and they still have my money! The shoes I received just looked like anything you get at a market, nothing special to justify the price tag. Avoid

I live in the UK - ordered a pair of Groundies - the sizing was off - so returned them as per their instructions - 2 months later they returned to me after being rejected by Groundies. Contacted Groundies and confirmed returns process from the UK - sent them again - returned to me 1 month after being rejected by Groundies. Contacted customer support - no reply after 2 weeks. My advice? If you are UK based - be aware that you may end up losing money. I wouldnt trust this company as far I could throw them.
