I ordered in the UK and as with these things the size was not right. Sadly the return postage to Czech Rep. was £18 with Royal Mail. The item then got stuck at customs for 4 weeks and returned to me in the UK. Customer service was excellent. They refunded me despite this and I am very grateful. I can’t recommend buying them in the UK but the company were very helpful.

I ordered Groudies and had to pay custom fees.

If I had known I would be paying an extra 55 GBP then I would never have bought them.

This is the final answer I received back from Groundies just to give you a taste:

"Hello,

thank you for your message. During our checkout process and in our general terms and conditions, we informed you, that additional charges may occur on import, when you place orders from outside of the EU. These fees are charged by British customs and are outside of our control and we will not cover them for you.

According to the tracking information, the delay was caused because parcelforce has been waitig since 6th of March for you to pay the import fees. The delay was not caused by us."

Buyer beware. If you order shoes from the German website you will have to pay a hefty tax on anything coming in. I ordered 2 pairs in the sale and had to pay £74 to parcelforce before they would deliver. Had I known this I would not have bought them.

Ordered a pair of Barefoot+ groundies. My feet (eu size 40) are wider than average at the ball of the foot+toes (10.4 and 10.7 cm wide), but my heel width is more average, which made it difficult to find a pair of shoes that nicely fit. I got tipped to try groundies, since they offer a few extra wide shoes. Today is my first day walking on them and my feet have never been happier. I've tried other barefoot shoes and these are the first ones that I will keep. Others were always not wide enough.
Ordering was also easy and shipping (to the Netherlands) was quick.
All feet are different, but if you have wide feet and want shoes that make your feet feel happy, definetely give Groundies a try.

I placed an order for a pair of Groundies shoes back in September, and received them promptly.

When I saw them in real life, they seemed to be of adequate quality – they just weren't really my style in the end. So, as per the website's returns instructions, I sent them back to Germany from the UK.

Weeks went by without a peep, which I put down to Brexit-induced red tape at customs. However, on Monday this week, the parcel arrived back on my doorstep with several stickers on it (written in German) that say: "RETURN TO SENDER: Shipment was not picked up on time."

The fact my package was returned to me because no one at Groundies had bothered to collect it is, frankly, unacceptable. Don't accept my order (and take my money) if you're unable or unwilling to process its return.

This case is ongoing. If it was £10 or even £20, I wouldn't bother – but it's close to £100. And when I say it's "ongoing", I mean I'm pursuing this – I still haven't heard a thing from anyone at Groundies.

Folks, if you're reading this, go with Vivobarefoot. Trust me.

I've had 3 previous orders from this company and they all were plain sailing.
I placed a further order in August that I still haven't received then today I receive a letter from Parcel Force requesting a further £52.43 to clear customs!!!!
I will never buy from them again.

Very poor quality, I bought two pairs and in a few weeks of using both pairs started peeling off in the joints and the sole started getting off on sides.
The company refuses to return money or repair the shoes as it is in insolvency, which has been more then 6 month since now. But the store has still been working and selling.

So now I have two pair of shoes which I can't use, because I have to wait until the end of insolvency otherwise if I continued wearing the shoes they would be completely peeled off and sole would detach and then the company would refuse my claim because they would been "used so much".

I am absolutely thrilled with my experience with Groundies. From the moment I placed my order, everything was perfect. The shoes were dispatched immediately and arrived at my doorstep in just three days – an incredible feat for international delivery. The shoes themselves are very comfortable and stylish, I love that they look like normal shoes, not like something designed solely for function.
What really stood out to me was the company's attitude. All my emails and requests were answered in under 30 mins. I very much appreciate this kind of personal touch. Thank you, Groundies.

I've been a customer since 2021/2022 and I recently (14th april 2023) ordered a pair of Groundies since my first pair was a BLESSING for my feet.
I ordered even though the company were in a insolvency process. Good products needs to be trusted at all times even tough it can be a bit scary when companies are in a bit of a squeeze.
Of course i called my bank and they instructed me through the payment process.
My only concern was when i didn't receive a order status update, but after a message to facebook support the Groundies support team sorted this issue out extremely quickly. Thank you for that.
The shoes arrived and i'm in love again.

I can tell that the employees care for the brand even though consumers starts commenting so much unnecessary hate for something that is beyond Groundies control (German insolvency policy).
AND YES, i do see why people got mad since they kept pushing automated e-mails sending offers even though they must have known that the company was in financial trouble but we all know that no sales = no income = no more Groundies = Sad feet :(

The shoes are very stylish, well made and are amongst the top barefoot shoes in the world. I much prefer them to Vivobarefoot.

I wouldn't believe the negative reviews posted, as I've had nothing but a great experience all around and am plotting my next purchase with them as we speak. Negative people will be negative.

the boots I ordered are a work of art, super comfortable and with a wide toe box. My back feels better wearing them, as opposed to other boots which have a very slight decrease in height from heel to toe. I love these boots from Groundes... but I have only been wearing for a few days and others here have complained about the quality longer term. So far so good! Will update this review if I have problems.

Great shoes, fast shipping and trustworthy seller. In about 18 months I have bought 5 pairs of Groundies and planning to buy more. Even if the size is not perfect, it is totally worth it to try as the final results is very rewarding :)

Really happy with Groundies. Excellent quality, they look great, brilliant customer service.
I had bought a pair of Vivobarefoot last year and they were so expensive, too narrow, and the sole wore through in 6 months. Their customer service was non existent and they did nothing for me. I wasted €150. The Groundies I bought came with a 3 year sole guarantee, so I didn't have to worry about that. They have also made even more durable soles I believe. They have gained a customer for life now :)

I've ordered 8 pairs of shoes over the past 2 years and I'm 100% happy with the products they make.

The ones made of vegan leather are overall resilient, easy to wash (with laundry at 60°C, they remain unchanged), and waterproof.
I'm just as happy with the real leather ones - they look great, keeping in mind I take a good care of them with impregnation and relevant cleaning.

What I notice is they've improved some of their models over time, e.g. Bella - ballerina, Sydney - sneakers (as I've ordered each model a couple of times in different colours) and they manage to hit better and better looks.
