GymSets doesn’t sell gym equipment; it sells a lottery ticket.

If your order arrives correctly, congratulations.

If it doesn’t, prepare yourself for an endless cycle of investigations, contradictory emails, broken promises and a battle simply to obtain the goods you paid for.

I wish I’d read the one-star reviews before ordering. I certainly wouldn’t have trusted this company with my money. If you believe the "genuine" five star reviews, more fool you.

I have already submitted 1 star reviews which somehow disappear!!!!! So I shall post daily.....

Everything that follows is supported by emails, delivery records, photographs and GymSets’ own written admissions.

I ordered a complete Olympic weight package, including a 7ft Commercial Cheshire Olympic Barbell (Black).

The order arrived incomplete.

The most important item—the Olympic barbell—never arrived, leaving hundreds of kilograms of Olympic plates completely unusable.

I was then subjected to weeks of excuses whilst GymSets blamed the courier, carried out endless “investigations” and repeatedly assured me they were looking into it.

Eventually they accepted that the original barbell had been lost and agreed to send a replacement.

The replacement arrived.

It wasn’t the product I’d ordered.

It wasn’t even close.

Instead of a 7ft Olympic barbell, they sent a 165cm one-inch adjustable barbell—a cheap standard bar completely incompatible with the Olympic weight set I had purchased.

I sent photographs.

I sent measurements.

I sent CCTV video of the delivery!!!

Only then did GymSets finally admit, in writing, that they had supplied the wrong product.

By this stage, almost a month had passed.

Rather than immediately refunding me, they attempted to send yet another replacement and even offered store credit.

No.

After almost a month of mistakes, delays and broken promises, I had completely lost confidence in GymSets’ ability to fulfil a simple order and had already purchased the correct barbell elsewhere.

The irony is that the only thing GymSets managed to deliver consistently throughout this entire experience was disappointment.

The chronology speaks for itself:

• Incomplete order.

• Lost shipment.

• Weeks of delays.

• Endless investigations.

• Contradictory emails.

• Wrong replacement product.

• Written admission that the replacement was incorrect.

• Continued refusal to issue an immediate refund.

At every stage I gave GymSets the opportunity to put matters right.

At every stage they failed.

Customer service appears to operate on the basis of keeping customers waiting rather than solving problems.

Mistakes happen in every business.

What defines a company is how it responds when those mistakes occur.

GymSets failed that test spectacularly.

As I write this review, I have formally rejected the goods, commenced a chargeback through my card issuer and am pursuing recovery of the money I have paid.

If everything goes perfectly, you may never experience what I have.

If anything goes wrong, however, based on my experience you should be prepared for weeks of frustration before receiving a resolution—if you receive one at all.

Save yourself the stress.

Buy from a retailer that understands one simple principle:

When you make a mistake, you fix it. Immediately.

GymSets never did, never do, never interested!

Brilliant service and well executed transaction with a good product, description and delivery.

Deeply disappointed with this company. Made an order for items more expensive than I wanted as they showed stock and was told afterwards they were not in stock, alongside items being broken in transit. Multiple ignored emails and vague replies. I offered to except alternatives also showing in stock to then be delayed and told were now not in stock. My order was for setting up a gym for a client which now cannot be completed on time costing me money and reputation. At after all this they have offered me used weights replacement and an offensive 5% refund. Absolute jokers with no customer service and reliability. I would avoid at all costs. There’s a reason why the are cheaper and those listed above are it. Unless your looking to delayed, lied to and offended when you complain best stick to other suppliers.

UPDATE:

I spoke with your team and your customer service department and was offered nothing, but returned stock and a 5% refund. Neither acceptable for what has occurred. I am looking forward to a respectful solution.

UPDATE 2:

Things have gone from worse to worse with these guys. They told me a replacement was in quality control and that was delay. ONLY, to be told now that they do not have stock of the item. So, clearly a lie. They also tried to offer me an alternative. Which they said was more expensive. Was actually much cheaper and not the same as the item I ordered. Having raised all these issues I have subsequently been ignored and no explanation. Meanwhile, still no rack that I ordered weeks and weeks ago. It is a joke and has only compounded my advice to avoid these people at all costs.

Second purchase in a month, great equipment. And really fast shipping, I ordered at 09.30 and got it at midday the next day.
Really good value for money and brilliant sale on right now. For a small company they really are in line if not better than some leading companies, it won't be long before they are competing

I would highly recommend gym sets to anyone. I've made two orders now, and the quality, price and service has been superb! Everything has arrived in a timely fashion and in great condition. I can't recommend them enough!

Ordered the neoprene kettle bells in 6 and 8kg, the 8 being on pre-order for the end of March. But nope, they both turned up yesterday so that was a nice surprise! Only took a couple of days to arrive and they’re great kettle bells as I really wanted a couple with a smaller base than the ones I currently have. Much easier to swing and do halos with!

The weights were cheaper than on similar sites and were delivered quickly, in perfect condition. Good communication throughout.

This company is the biggest scam. I replaced an order that was in stock at the time according to their website. After two weeks of waiting, I had to email the customer to find out why I hadn’t received my item, and that was when I was told that the item was out of stock. I have been requesting a refund for almost a month now, and they keep avoiding it by offering me a 10% refund or 15% store credit while I wait for an item that customer service representative Mary said she doesn’t know when it will be back in stock. I have rejected all the offers and insisted on a full refund, but they have neither refunded me nor responded to my email.

My second order having ordered a bench last year I ordered their adjustable dumbbells on a pre-order, ended up arriving way before the pre-order date. Great item, great price, no issues once again. Strange to see so many negative reviews when I've never experienced a problem myself, although there does seem to be more positive reviews coming in now than a few months back.

Product arrived in a timely manner. Product was as expected. Proper tracking information and clear timescales on delivery. Simple. Good.

Good quality dumbells, my husband is very pleased with them, came well packaged and quickly and they really save space, not needing a full rack with varying sizes. Easy to use and change weight quickly and perfect for his home gym.

I was looking to purchase a dumbell/barbell set. I tried some of the well known sport shops near Belfast but I found them pretty expensive so I came across this small company, Gym Sets UK on line. I was surprised how reasonably priced everything was. From I placed my order until I received it I was kept well informed. It arrived on the day I expected it and in perfect condition. It is excellent quality and I would definitely order from them again.
