I would not recommend this company. When you first start they are great but when u are at the end of the program no one wants to help you. I should have “graduated” from the program in May of 2019 and here we are January 2020 and I’m still trying to get someone to help me finish my last 3 accounts. No one calls you back including their so called managers. Do yourself a favor and find another company.

We began with Harbor in October 2015, enrolling $54,000 on four credit cards. The first card which had about $2300 on it was settled about a year or so in to the program. There was some negotiations on the two cards with the largest debts, $18000 and $27000, but after a larger first payment, they continued making smaller monthly payments without new negotiations. As my 48 month plan was to end this December, 2019, I made a few calls in the summer and Fall and they assured me they were negotiating a final payment. As everything I was putting in each month was already being paid out I wasn't sure how this would happen. As I wondered, there indeed was not enough money in my account to cover the monthly payments without new negotiations. It turns out they bounced and/or failed to send multiple checks to the debt collector and as a result the debt collector moved to freeze my bank account in order to do a garnishment. A week before Christmas. This caused my last payment to Harbor to be missed, which they called me for immediately and multiple times. So now I have a ticked off debt collector, another card in the program that is expecting more payments, and a fourth card that I just today received a letter from a new debt collector. Apparently after 4 years there was no contact with Harbor and it switched collectors. I still have about $32,000 owed to 3 cards, without any negotiations in place. I have paid $2000 more in the 4 years to Harbor than in the original signed agreement with only $2300 of $54000 settled. Plus the account that issued a garnishment added over $1000 in interest and fees. So in paying Harbor around $13000 in fees they have worked to save me nothing at this point. The people I do talk to on the phone are pleasant enough, but when speaking to the negotiator on the card that garnished my bank, she explained she just got assigned that card account. I wonder how long it was unattended? Also, I was repeatedly on hold for 30 min every time I called recently until finally getting an option for a callback.

THIS time, I was only on hold for 10 minutes, and only had to listen to Jimmy Buffet once. Please staff your call center appropriately so I’m not on hold for 40 plus minutes before giving up and hanging up. Place your request to call me back far earlier in the hold message. Staff was courteous and patient with me.

I would never recomend harbor legal group. I have been in the program for 5 years now and its finally coming to an end. Every time I call it's a long wait time. Everyone I talk to gives me different information from what I was told the last time I called. No one ever returned calls or emails I had to track them down to get information. I'm at the end of my program and all debts have still not been settled. My payment went up over $200 from when I started, and I will still have to continue paying creditors now that my program is over, because they failed to do as they promised with negotiating. I can not wait to be done with this company completely.

I went into the program because a scam artist sales person guaranteed the amount would be the most I had to pay. Well my program was to end after 5 years in April and the last card they settled made me agree to pay another payment. Now they have gone dark and I still have over 40,000.00 in unpaid cards that never got settled. I would recommend as much feedback as possible from other clients as I think we should move forward on a class action suit. Please send info to as I am working on this.

When we decided to go with Harbor Legal Group, it was a scary one. However, Harbor Legal Group explained to us in detail what to expect and how to handle it. There were several creditors that were very hard to work with and having Habor Legal Group on our side made the process much easier. The one thing that I was disappointed in was the lack of communication with the company and us, their client. We would call for information or to follow up on a disclosure and the return for information was really bad. Sometimes I would have to call 4-5 times on the same issue just trying to get someone to call us back. A couple of times this cost us the threat of garnishment. This also cost us deadline dates. It has been a long process and I am glad it is over. I am Happy Harbor Legal Group worked to get these accounts resolved and hopefully their policy for communication with their client is improved.

I am thankful i came across Harbor Legal Group. My experience with them has been smooth from start to finish. Once I was ready to make the sacrifices needed to correct my situation, I could not have asked for a better group to work with.

The intake staff were informative and took their time explaining the process and expectations. The settlement people guided me through how to work with my creditors and helped me navigate letters and threats of "court dates." The customer service staff answered my questions, helped me customize payments that allowed me to settle accounts faster, and assisted my graduation process.

I highly recommend HLG to anyone in need of their services. This was one of the best decisions I could have made.

Samantha answered all of my questions, but in the past I wish there was better follow through communication. I know I’m not the only customer, but when I call there’s a very long hold time before anyone comes on the line.

This is the worst experience I have had. We paid them alot of money to drop the ball on the program so many times I cannot even count. The latest was an account that I have paperwork that was to be included in the program, only to find out after much "research" on their side that it was not included in the program. Now left up to us to negotiate a settlement on, funny this happens when A) we are finished paying all of our fees and B) this comes up also when we are finished paying our fees. The program was entered as a precautionary measure since I was going to be laid off at the time and did not want any of our accounts to go in to collection. No account was past due and had never been past due. To enter the program you had to allow them to go past due, incurring late fees, which now the creditors seem to feel they are owed. Very few settlements were negotiated at anything more that 20% less, one account had to have outside council and there was no disconut on the account, in fact we ended up paying 400.00 more than we ever owed. We paid our payments to them every month on time and never had one missed or returned. However, there are still 4 outstanding accounts left to be negotiated, 1 of which they claim was not entered and 3 others still waiting. With the "promise" that they will negotiate the remaining 3 with no extra charge because we have already paid the "fees" for these account negotiations. (We will see whent the time comes, I fully excpect for them to evade this.) I would never recommend this program to anyone. When calling about any questions on your account plan to be on the phone for at least an hour, if not more (mostly hold times), don't request a call back (as they never call you back), when you do speak to someone and the promise to call you back (they never do, you have to call them back). Per the BBB on this company this is a standard practice for them and every review on the site about them states almost the exact same issues I have had, hard lesson learned. This was presented as a way to do the right thing and pay the debts we owed, however, the promises made by the company have yet to be seen. The only thing I know for sure, is that we paid them in fees what we have paid toward or credit debts which makes a no win for us.
