I had a very disappointing experience with Helcim. After being fully approved for a merchant account, I began using their services and sent out my first invoices. Nearly two weeks later—after clients had already made payments—I received an abrupt email stating that my account was closed due to “risk policies.”
This decision came after approval and after I had already trusted Helcim to process transactions. They claimed they refunded the payments to my clients, but I have received no proof of this, and I cannot confirm whether the funds were truly returned. As of now, I have effectively lost that money.
To make matters worse, I’ve requested that Helcim delete my business data from their platform, but I have yet to receive a response or acknowledgment.
If Helcim had simply declined my application from the start, this entire situation could have been avoided. But approving me, allowing payments, and then suddenly shutting down the account with vague reasoning—and no clear handling of funds—is unacceptable and irresponsible.
I would strongly caution other small business owners and startups to think twice before trusting Helcim with your customers' payments or your business data.

I do understand my business could be considered a High risk for Helcim or any other card payment provider.
However, the fact that they approve an account, then allow the user to take advantage of their product and use it without restrictions, then 2 weeks later, Helcim decides that you do not qualify. In my opinion, it should be either qualify or not, and not give access until the account is fully active. Unfortunately, this incident cost my company money. I sent invoices, using the Helcim platform, and customers paid them, but Helcim did not release the funds.
I reached out to their support, and even though the Helcim rep said that the money was refunded to customers, they could not see that in their statements, so I took that hit.
Anyhow, lesson learned the hard way.

AJ gave insightful and helpful assistance with the few questions I had regarding the incorporation of the payment platform into the accounting workflow of my small business. Every question was answered with clarity, efficiency, and patience. Also, he made sure I was aware of a few compliance issues that were new to me. He even sent a follow up email with notes and links to various bits of important information relevant to the topics discussed during our meeting.

Helcim is absolutely TERRIBLE. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. I created my account, went through the signup process no problem. Was very easy to create and send invoices, request deposits, etc. and after receiving my VERY FIRST deposit, they put my account under review and request a bunch of information about the customer. I did exactly that, and then they closed my account with no reason given. They refunded my customers and I was left to scramble to request another deposit and create dozens of invoices all over again. I WOULD GIVE THIS COMPANY 0 STARS IF I COULD

Helcim is a wonderful company to partner with. It adds value to my businesses. I know that they genuinely care about me and my business and they provide many services that most companies charge for. For example, they offer a free online store for selling products or services, free payment links, and free scheduling for my customers to pick-up items at my store. Other companies charge astronomical amounts for each item. Plus, I know they are always looking for ways to improve and they listen to my input. I can always ask for help with anything, and somebody will answer my question thoroughly, honestly, and kindly. Most currently, AJ has been assisting me and checking in frequently. He is always extremely polite even when I repeatedly don't recognize his number and push him through to voicemail. All of the people who I have talked to at Helcim have been kind to me regardless of my attitude. I appreciate their level of professionalism immensely. What more could one want from a finance company? *High-value, fair-price, ethical, customer-focused AND more!

Helcim is the best merchant services and card processing company I found by far. Their rates were the best, and their customer service is instant and actually helpful (from real people like AJ!). I ended up trying the smart terminal, found out it wasn’t suitable for my business, and now have the card reader. Both are very user friendly from both ends. Every part of this experience that I didn’t think could be enjoyable has been. I am so happy with my decision to choose Helcim and I’d do it again every time.

We called to use them only for credit card payments.
We asked comprehensive questions and provided all necessary documentation. As soon as they took the first payment, they asked for reems of other documentation regarding a small private company. More importantly, it has been 7 days, and we have not been paid.
