My on going saga with homeserve/help link is so tiresome and tedious, I will bullet point it to save you the pain I’ve been going through. Here goes:
• Phone call day before install to move date from Friday to Monday (already taken day off work).
• Electrician arrives on Friday to wire new boiler - had to tell him to come back Monday.
• New boiler fitted Monday. Fitter only has 1 of 2 new radiator valves requested on quote. 2nd electrician arrives but doesn’t know about Earth bonding required for gas meter. Leaves saying someone will be in touch.
• No word on new electrician, call help link to find out what’s going on. Get transferred around 3/4 people til someone can finally arrange it.
• notice screws are missing from underside of boiler, call to request new ones are sent. New ones arrive and are wrong size.
• Call to ask about refund of £150 I was charged for altering pipework during installation that wasn’t actually required. Told someone from finance dept will call me back.
• 3rd electrician arrives to earth bond gas meter. Makes a huge hole in rendering and advices I’ll need someone to come repair it.
• After 2 weeks boiler breaks down. Call 24 hour repair line to request engineer visit. Told by person on the line they can’t find me on system, and to call again in morning. Call in morning and request engineer visit. Told I need to call manufacturer directly. Ask about £150 refund, told someone will call me back. So far, no one has.
• Manufacturers engineer visits, tells me it’s a problem with installation and I need to call help link to get them to come back and look ok at it.
So 3 weeks after installation I have a boiler that doesn’t work, a hole in my wall, £150 down and no sign of getting it back, hours lost on the phone trying to get it sorted (spoke to 4 people today each of whom said “I’ll just transfer you to the right dept” before just putting me back in the generic queue) and am throughly hacked off. The level of customer service has been abysmal and technical competence appalling. I wish I’d never laid eyes on homeserve and advise anyone reading this to avoid, avoid, avoid.

This may be the wrong place but im not totally satisfied that the installation has been completed as was agreed. I am waiting to be contacted by someone who i hope will come and look at it

Had new boiler and extra radiator put in at same time. Not a totally happy experience. Very messy. One engineer blow-torched a skirting board and wall and let brown water pour into my carpet and the other let a vent fly off soaking my utility room. Several parts of radiators and keys missing. The electrician didn't come for 3 days and only after I phoned. The hot water now heats up whenever the boiler comes in even though not programmed to do so. I've told the engineer but have heard no more. The new radiator is noisy and is wobbly. Tried to battle the noise with bits of paper but still wobbly.

From the survey to the installation I really could not fault the service I was provided. No haggling, no price increases and no pressure to purchase. The installation team were fantastic and did a really great job. Yes Boilers are now expensive but with Help Link and the extended 10 Year Warranty I got I was really satisfied. Great Service thank you

all went very well we arranged install of boiler 3 weeks after survey,there was no push from help link to have install earlier.plumber very curteous and arrived on time.he explained everything he would do to us for the install.all went well, and he and the electrician had finnised mid afternoon.best qoate and neat job.decent boiler as well.

Well I gotta say .... the survey was thorough and fully explained in plain English. ... installation day came and the nice and early heating engineer turned up and talked me through the installation process and advised me to fill a kettle and pan of water .... then he cracked on with it ..... no issues arose throughout the installation. ... he even educated me on some of the workings of boiler and heating in general. .... Tom breeze was the engineer. ... would highly recommend him .... Top guy .... Top job.

Overall a good installation phone surveyor was very friendly and helpful. Gas engineer made a nice job of fitting the boiler the main problem came with the electrical side of the installation I was told that as a fused spur was in place the gas engineer could do the control wiring but he could not do it when he arrived and an electrician was needed the engineer did leave us with a temporary connection via a plug top which was a bit of a trip hazard. On phoning Homeserve I didn’t find the service as helpful as when they were trying to sell me the product.An electrician came a few days later and also did a good job if they could get the issue sorted out between electrical and gas fitter side my star review would certainly have been better

Not the best service I have had and this was not down to the engineers or electricians who were excellent, friendly and professional. Purely down to the office staff, who were rude and pretty much didn't know what right or left hand were doing. It was meant to take 2 days and ended up taking 5 because things were not ordered and by the time the office staff had got their act together the times which were booked with the electrician had gone, even the engineers were baffled by how poor time had been arranged by customer services. We ended up taking 5 days off work in the end. They had even double booked us at the same time as another client and the electrician ended up ringing me to arrange times without them getting involved. Could be an excellent service if communication was better and some organisational learning is recorded and implemented in the back office.

Excellent service from start to finish. Initial survey carried out by Stuart who was friendly & informative & covered all aspects including finance. Boiler installation carried out by Steve who was also helpful & knowledgeable; indeed he ensured we had access to heating & hot water despite no electrician showing up. A few days later the electrician , another Steve , completed the installation quickly & efficiently so job done!
