Our call was answered promptly. We felt that we were consulted very well about the job, changing fuses, lights etc. Each step was explained in detail. There was no delay picking up parts etc.as all the equipment needed was available.

Great response to required job posting

HomeStars is fine to get info on a group of contractors and invite them to show interest Ina job. The main weakness in my view is that the site used to list contractors in order of their ratings so the best scored companies could be easily seen. Now if a company shows interest they may have few or even no reviews. How does a person know if these companies get good reviews? I preferred the old system.

User friendly, I liked I didn't have to deal with phone calls. Quick responses from interested parties.

Hi there experienced with homesteads is very bad.They changed there platforms .I am looking for simple advertising clients see me and chooses to call.HomeStars charged for been shortlisted.Never had a chance to meet any clients since alot them jus want to know prices to plan next year.Been charged hundreds of dollars never spoke or seen a job.This unfair practices has stop in this country.Been in 37. Yrs and advertising has gone to the dogs.Simple basic advertising is very complicated these day.
I was rip off by yellow pages made web site and charge almost 200$ a month only to have my ad in a different province for months and was very hard to reach them and talked to 8 representatives before they found the site in Alberta .They still charged and destroy my credit over advertisement which I never got.Whst do I do about it.Seems to be the norm these days ripping small businesses off with advertising.Now onnyelp 4 days cannot reach any representatives since July 1st 2026.page ad needs fixing stone mason and they have painters on my main pages.I want to see blocks brick stone installation

Quickly get a list of provider to look at. I usually invite 3 to assess and quote the job and the award the job to one. For the most part I have been happy with the end results and HomeStars is an integral part of my sourcing process. What I don’t like is receiving texts and emails from various providers that I did not invite. Can this be set up to not happen. I only want to communicate with the vendors I invited and not get bombarded with mass emails , texts and phone calls.

I selected 3 vendors but HomeStars fanned my project request to many many vendors. This wasted a lot of my time!

Immediate response to my posted job by many reputable companies.
Great site to look at reviews and compare contractors for what suits you best

We have always been pleased with the recommendations made and the quality of the work provided. My only issue is I would like to be able to report to Homestars when we set up an appointment with one of the recommended contractors and they don’t show up. I believe this should be noted somewhere.

Made a request, got responses within 24 hours. Discussed my requested job with contractor., job was completed 2 days later.

Eale did several home repair/maintenance projects that I needed help with - replacing a bathroom light, putting down steppingstones, removal of dead shrubs, installing a replacement screen door closer. He did a good job on all the projects, and was pleasant and friendly to deal with. Would definitely recommend and would contact him again for any future work.

Service was very accommodating they explained the full process in detail. James and Joe were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with.

The Reliance Home Comfort Advisor, "I. Joumaa" was "on-time" and "very cordial". My wife and I did have questions for him and he was quite thorough in his explanations to our questions. We were especially thankful for the way in which he arranged to obtain the best package for us as well as his offer to have us contact him at any time if we had any questions.
