I had a wonderful experience with my representative Pollo Hsu. She was incredibly patient and helpful to me as an older first time customer in the home equity experience. She worked with me in every avenue of communication, texting, phone calls and emails. And we are on different time lines and coast, east and west coast. She very graciously took all of this into account. Was not put off by my my questions and hesitancy when I was unsure of things. I even misunderstood at one time what we were doing and went 2 weeks with no communication as I thought we were done with what she needed to start our process. When I reached out to find out what was happening and we both realize there was that miscommunication we were able to pick right up and continue on. Discriminations process and Underwriter illegal rules instructing clients to get Guaranteed replacement cost for the home property, but there are no Home insurances that can issues guaranteed replacement cost for 1975 house, it does not exist.

She was responsive, professional, and very helpful in answering my questions and guiding me through the required steps. Her support made the overall experience much smoother and more reassuring. We were exploring both HELOC and HEI options when we contacted Hometap to learn more about their HEI program. Our advisor, Mark, explained the program in detail, and we felt an HEI made more sense for us. Not having a monthly repayment on the borrowed money, and not having to take on additional debt, was a big selling point.

Once we began the process, Hometap’s customer service was exceptional. They should give a master class on how to communicate with customers. Our advisor, Mark, was readily available and provided frequent updates throughout the entire process.

If you are considering an HEI, in my opinion Hometap is one of the best in the business, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to access equity from their home.
