A very straightforward and positive experience

I first reached out to hometap in early 2025. I spoke with Grant Phillips and he was extremely helpful. We had a phone call and he explained everything about the process, what was involved, all the details. At that time it wasn't the right option for me. Fast-forward to March 2026 and my circumstances had changed and I wanted to look back into Hometap again. I reached back out to Grant and he was able to pull up all of our prior conversations and jumped right back into helping me.

This type of loan isn't for everyone. For MANY individuals there are other options out there that would make more sense, so do your research for sure. But in my case, it was the smartest option. What I really appreciated is that although I'm sure that sales is his job, Grant was fantastic about helping me to get good, clear information about the type of product I was moving forward with. Back in 2025 when it wasn't a good fit he was very clear about that and never tried to push me into something that would have been detrimental to me. That meant that when I reached out again and it WAS the right option, I felt confident that he was giving me honest information.

He was incredibly transparent with the entire process and kept in touch with me almost daily for about 2 months. He was super responsive to me both by text and email and even phone calls when necessary. I felt that he went above and beyond in every way to help me with a very tricky situation and made the final step of a very complicated process, very easy.

I know there are many companies out there who do these types of equity investments, but I will say that working with Hometap and specifically with Grant Phillips as my advisor/sales rep, the process was a smooth and seamless as possible.

Again, clients need to understand WHAT they are getting into, and I always do a lot of my own research, but Grant was forthcoming with all details so that I understood what I was doing and I know what to expect moving forward.

This equity investment helped me to save my house from being sold in a divorce, which has allowed me to stay there with my kids until they graduate school, thus providing stability and security for us for the next few years until our circumstances change and a sale of the home (or a refi) would make sense.

I'm very grateful to Grant for all of his help and I feel that the structure of the whole process was very easy and straightforward and they truly did go above and beyond to help me get things done in a timely manner.

My loan closing is set for next week, while I will be on vacation, and they are having the notary come to me at the hotel I'll be staying in, to complete the closing. What an adventure!

The process was seamless and the Investment Manager assigned to me was very informative and communicated via text, emails and personal calls during the entire process. It was very easy to navigate through the account portal and to upload documents. I would highly recommend Hometap to anyone that would like to have accessibility to equity in their home.

The best Joe I ever met on the phone, knowledgeable, grateful, courteous, and patience five stars across the board. You guys have a good employee there, but I think he is a great asset to your company

The person that helped me with my account was so knowledgeable so patient and so courteous. This person was more than just a customer service person. This person has a lot of knowledge and was well mannered and knew how to handle his business. This person also made me feel very grateful to do business with your guys. I would recommend you guys to all my friends. Joe was the best. He’s not just have a job he’s more like looking at you guys as an asset to your company. Very professional

Very professional. Said it would take 30 days to 6 weeks and it did. A little misleading as far as closing and being funded, two week gap. Don't start the process unless there is no other way or if you need quick funding.
