We had a rocky start with our claim via HSBC and Severn Trent. However once it was passed to Home Repair Network and a wonderful lady called Carolyn I felt fully listened to and was dealt with in the most professional and friendly way. Due to ongoing health problems with my husband I sometimes struggled to get copies of invoices , general details etc. Carolyn guided me through the process and I was treated with empathy , she offered support and was very patient. I cannot thank her enough and feel HRN are blessed to employ her, she is an asset to the company.

This is a further update to my ongoing story following storm damage last December. It is now 55 weeks since the damage occurred. As reported before it took HRNL nine weeks to agree a hole in the roof needing repair. By this time two upstairs ceilings and walls had become wet and part of the ceilings were falling down. They had been appointed by Aviva to handle the case. HRNL's assessor viewed the property and said there was no damp issue despite water running down the walls. In late June after little response from HRNL I contacted Aviva who arranged for an independent assessor to visit. When he arrived and had taken readings of the walls and ceilings he asked how long it had been like this? When I told them it was seven months the man was horrified. His comment was these walls and ceilings are not damp they are very wet. You should not be living in this house and I will advise Aviva now.
Aviva arranged to move us into temporary accommodation whilst repairs were undertaken. The cost of the accommodation, decorating, carpets and other expenses cost Aviva over £20,000 plus the cost of the roof repair. I am still awaiting payment for the electric used running two heavy duty dehumidifiers for seven months and addition heating costs. Aviva asked me not to contact HRNL but to deal with them directly.
As to the conservatory claim that was dismissed due to an inaccurate assessors report. It claimed that the roof had been repaired previously when it had not. I patched it to stop water running into the building and damaging electrical equipment. HRNL are not interested and do not respond to emails.
Excellent team who completed our repair works to a high standard. Whilst we had some delays at first, there was always someone coming back on emails and so that felt reassuring.

John who I dealt with was fantastic and saved me a fortune with a simple repair and low cost bill.
No daft excess either.

I had a phone call from my mother-in-law to say she had arrived home from a weekend away to discover the ceiling coming down in her main bedroom and the carpet soaked. On investigation it transpired that some very stormy weather while she was away had caused water ingress from the roof. As she is 80 years old and prone to panic and anxiety, I took over the administration of the insurance claim and Churchill told me that Home Repair Network would be in touch to assess and deal with the claim.
From start to finish their service has been exemplary. Gemma took over the file and kept me posted at all times. She arranged for an assessor to look at the damage and, although other issues turned up after he submitted his report, she instructed a local building services company to carry out their own review and subsequently sanctioned the additional work. To their credit, the local company were very sensitive to the needs of my mother-in-law and were courteous and efficient throughout. When they had finished the work, Gemma was quickly in contact to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
At a stressful time for the family, I cannot fault the service provided by Gemma at HRN nor the care and attention of the local building company. Both organisations helped enormously to make a difficult few weeks much more tolerable. Well done to both!

The team were excellent in communicating to keep me informed as to what was happening and when. They checked when the work had been done and if all was ok and every thing was done on time. They also checked if I was happy with the work and if there were any issues.
Communication and follow up were awesome.

I had a very constructive and professional experience from Carolyn. She listened to the problem I had and provided the appropriate level of guidance to support my claim. It was a lengthy one due to its complexity but I was reassured every time I spoke to her! Thank you!

I had storm damage in December 2024. I had never dealt with this type of damage before, and really was at a loss. Carolyn, of the team, has been an absolute brick, in talking me through this stressful time, in a positive, polite and professional manner. I personally found it easier to keep in touch with one person for continuity but found all members to be helpful. My sincere thanks Carolyn.
