I purchased some Hunter walking boots from Frasers. Luckily got them in a sale but they were still over £100, wore them for one hiking trip for a week, so in total maybe wore them 20 times, the seams... See more

Warning
Warning: fraudulent websites impersonating Hunter (France)
My partner and I recently had a very disappointing experience involving websites pretending to be official Hunter stores for France.
We attempted to place orders on the following websites:
• hunterbootsfrance.fr
• hunter-boots-france.fr
After completing the payment process, we never received any order confirmation. We made three payment attempts (each over €100), which forced us to block our bank cards and start a dispute with our bank.
We genuinely believed these were official Hunter websites. This situation caused a lot of stress and disappointment, especially as we were hesitating between Hunter and another well-known brand before purchasing.
This review is mainly to warn other customers and to alert the Hunter brand about the existence of these fraudulent websites, which can seriously damage customer trust and brand image.
Please be extremely careful and always double-check the official website before purchasing.
Avoid like the plague ...not what they were
Have always bought Hunter Boots because they have been hard-wearing and comfortable. Replaced a pair last year and while they look the same the quality is appalling. They split in several places after less than a year and the company didn't want to know. Digging around they are now US owned with manufacturing in China. They still charge top prices and seem to be living by reputation. Would advise anyone to look for alternatives
I bought a pair of wellies they split…
I bought a pair of wellies they split so I contacted them and they said they could nt find my purchase online so I paid 120 for a pair of crap wellies and they wont refund or swap avoid completely go and buy 20 pound pair they are probably just as good
Not true to size Ordered new…
Not true to size Ordered new wellingtons. Paid for postage. Too Big needed smaller size. Had to pay to return boots and then pay to reorder in smaller size. Emailed customer service to explain not my fault they didn’t fit and could they cover returns postage and got very generic response.
Don't waste your money on these wellington boots
I am about to turn 60 and have had 4 pairs of hunters over my lifetime. I will not have any more. The first 2 pairs lasted for about 12 years each, because I surmise they were made in the UK. The last 2 pairs lost their colour and clouded over very quickly, within 2 years. This was after the production was moved to china. They are now a quality brand without the quality, so incrediblely disappointing. Not only did my current pair cloud over, they started to leak along the fron toe seams
I bought a pair of Explorer Insulated…
I bought a pair of Explorer Insulated boots for $275. I had them less than a year, and both boots ripped in the exact same spot. I took them to a repair shop and they are irreparable. This is an obvious quality issue in a highly expensive shoe. I asked Hunter to replace them and they would do nothing. I’ll never buy a product from this sham company again.
Beware Ladies Hunter Balmoral Wellingtons Vibram soles separation
I have a pair of ladies Hunter Balmoral wellingtons, neoprene lined with a Vibram sole. A good looking boot, vulcanite tough rubber, side adjustable vents. I have hardly worn these, they are kept in good conditions looked after well, cleaned after wear with water, no chemicals. They are out of warranty but still look new, Vibram sole has no wear at all as I only wear them in fields in wet weather which is what they were intended for. But I wore them in light snow last week and the high traction Vibram sole has started to separate, mainly the heel. I have now looked on line and notice this is a fault with these boots, something I wish I had known before I had them, but they were a present. I have other Hunters without these 'stick on' soles and they are fine as they are integrated into the body of the boot they are not 'stick on' soles. So I have now got to try and repair them myself. Local shoe repairers won't touch Vibram soles they need specialist cobblers but so expensive and none locally to me in Birmingham, UK. I did not realise they were stick on soles I thought they were welded on, I now know these are so that customers can have them re-soled but why put them on wellingtons, they are not classed as walking boots! I also have a pink pair of ladies tall Hunters I bought from Notcutts they are now two tone pink as they have faded! Come on Hunter look at your materials and workmanship and maybe ditch Vibram soles on wellingtons. On a positive note my 20 year old green Hunters are still going strong they are worn at heel, but no splits or fading, so much better construction and materials in those days.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
Bought a very expensive pair of Balmoral boots with neoprene lining. They split across toes and ankle after just FOUR wears!!! Terrible customer service who are a complete and utter waste of time.
Save your money, heed the warnings and avoid like the plague! No wonder they went bust. Awful business practice and awful product. Such a shame for a brand with such a rich heritage. Will never buy from them again.
Paid £20.75 on returns
Paid £20.75 on returns.
Be aware you are liable to return your own package it must be insured to the value of the item(s)
Item sent special tracked next day delivery with Royal Mail, Hunter received the item the following day. No communication from Hunter nor has the return been processed.
Echo the poor reviews
Echo the poor reviews. Although seems like they really don’t care about them. Fit is awful not true to size , had to pay for delivery and then return so over £11 down with no product. Definitely does not reflect the price point. Would avoid
Would be 0 star if there was one

Absolute disgrace
Emailed Hunter 4 days ago about leaking…
Emailed Hunter 4 days ago about leaking boots. These were bought 15 months ago and worn infrequently, for the odd wet walk.
They cost £120.
I have heard absolutely nothing except for a generic reply stating they had received my query and would get back to me.
It seems, from the research I've done, that to get any sort of resolution would be a very long and arduous process, so I've thrown them away and bought a new ( and obviously different!) brand.
Shame on a large company who charge premium prices to have such awful customer service.
Some of the worst customer service ever…
Some of the worst customer service ever dealt with.
Courier marked item as delivered, with a picture of a the package outside a door, which has a sign visible with a completely different house name to mine.
Hunter are claiming this constitutes delivery and will not refund my item. I cannot speak to anyone and have to wait on email replies taking days.
Will never purchase via the website again.
Took my money, sent me someone else's order, not refunding me despite me sending the wrong order back
I ordered boots from Hunter in November. They sent me someone else's order by mistake. I contacted Hunter to let them know of their mistake, and they arranged collection of the wrong order. I can see by tracking that they received that wrong order on 18 December. They have ignored all my emails since and have not refunded me - for a product I never actually received. I'll escalate to Trading Standards and issue legal proceedings as they have breached the Consumer Rights Act in multiple ways - but, honestly, if I'd read both the customer service and product reviews here first I'd have never ordered from them in the first place. If you're considering buying from them - don't!
Poor service
I bought a hunter coat for my partner in mid November for Christmas - unfortunately when she opened it at Christmas the size was a little tight and so the next size up was required! Hunters have a 30 day returns policy ( I did not realise this at the time) however considering it was still in its original box plastic bag and labels etc full intact I wrote explaining the circumstances to be told - they would NOT accept a return for replacement of the next size - no leniency for the Christmas period! Needless to say I would not recommend or purchase from them again! Be warned!!!!
Have to pay for returns
Have to pay for delivery and then pay to return an item. Not recommended.
Never received my order
Never received my order, hunter are adamant they were delivered to my neighbour. They were not home, so how could they have been?
Refused a refund or to send another order out. Have taken £100 and left me without an item. Disgusting.
Hunter Boots No Longer Worth Buying
I have been trying to purchase a pair of boots for my daughter (Maribel Ivory size 9). First, there is a banner across website that sizes sitewide sale 20% off. They are not 20% off. Next, their customer service is non-existent. You can call M-F 5 hours a day supposedly but no one answers the phone. You can't chat either, only send a message to the void that someday some AI bot might respond to. I am shipping to her address while paying with mine. I've entered my payment info 3 times but keeps rejecting trying to force me to use their shop link to check out. I don't want to use this site, it's nothing but a data mining site. Sale won't go through unless I use this. Looked into company and there is nothing but bad reviews on quality, service and general loss of brand trust. Decided to skip, this is a crap private equity brand now, nothing like the hunter of old.
The worst shoes I ve ever had in my…
The worst shoes I ve ever had in my life. Piece of shit garbage. Foot sweats in minutes of wearing since its made out of some garbage quality material. Overall terrible expreince.
Order Process Nightmare
As alluded to in many other reviews, the processes this company has in place for orders and returns are atrocious. They do not allow you to easily cancel and refund any order you place, and they do not allow any edits to an order whatsoever (they won't even cancel an order and place a new one, correct one for you). It seems like the customer service side of the business has almost no contact whatsoever with the distribution side. If anything goes wrong with your order, they are very likely to ship you the wrong order and then charge you for an expensive return.
