Interesting that there are only positive reviews appearing on here after someone on Google pointed out this website. Scammers. Do not use. Unless, of course, you like paying 5x the price that you'd pay for a reputable locksmith. Then by all means award them five stars
Today my mum locked herself out, thank you for helping her straight away she was so grateful and with no charge either! Very happy to recommend their services we Will definitely use again.
Complete rip off.
Charged me £125 for an emergency call out when it wasn't and then a further £150 for 45 minutes work and then left with no replacement lock!
Billed me under the name of Terralox
Have phoned them but just say take it up with head office
Locksmith arrived earlier than expected, he was friendly and did a quick but thorough job. He explained well what had happened and gave sound advice.
My only complaint would be that the person on the phone wasn’t friendly and quite short. They also didn’t explain any fees and how I would have to pay there and then etc. They are quite expensive
DO NOT USE! Charged me £768 to replace two locks. Quoted £150 to replace each, then after they had drilled through them, they told me it would be roughly the same again to put them back, knowing I didn't have a choice. Then added VAT. Then tried to add a £240 call out fee that hadn't been mentioned once. Daylight robbery. The good reviews are 100% fake.
Terralox came out after we had been burgled. Charged nearly £1,000 to change two locks but with the situation being so precarious and scared children in the house didn't know what else to do. We were robbed twice in one day. Disgusting practice and shameful behaviour. Assume the Google reviews are fakes as they are all 5 stars and full of praise - the very opposite of what's on here. I only hope more people see these reviews instead.
Hopefully you are reading this before you have booked ITCC locksmiths the invoice we received was under the name of Terralox based in Manchester so look out for this also.
This company is old school they quote one price on the phone and charge another price when they have carried out the work, their invoicing is outrageous with no relation to time spent or value of parts used. This is a familiar sad story, booked lock smith to drill open bedroom door and received an invoice for £360 for 14 mins work parts used total value £35 at a push, this works out just for fun a daily rate of £10,400. They did turn up in the time they said but that costs £125 they then charged another £75 to fit the lock and £100 for a euro cylinder and 5 keys don't forget they were only on site for 14 mins! BUT this sad story has a bit of a happy ending I spoke to the manager who after trying to tell me that this pricing was all as it should be agreed to refund the £75.00 plus VAT, I think the daily rate of £10,400 hit home and he had a moment of weakness. Top tip if you lock yourself out smash a window it will be cheaper.
My friend was locked out of his flat, so I arranged to have this locksmith attend. I was quoted £45 per hour on the phone. When the locksmith arrived, I spoke to him on the phone and he said it was a flat fee of £180 to drill the lock, plus whatever additional charges to fit a new lock, if we wanted that. I was shocked at the 'bait and switch', but reluctantly agreed and authorised him to go ahead. After drilling the lock and opening the door (which must have taken 5 minutes, incidentally) he called back and said the cheapest lock replacement would be £120. Again very displeased, I reluctantly agreed and authorised this additional charge. When the work was done and it came time to pay, I got another call, telling me the total was £630. The locksmith claimed 'it was on the website', and seemed to think this somehow gave him a legal leg to stand on. I refused to pay anything other than the £180 and £120 I had authorised, reminding him that the price quote he gave me on the phone, ridiculously expensive in themselves, were binding and all that I had authorised. AVOID VENDORS WHO ENGAGE IN THESE PRACTICES.
ITCC Locksmiths (they have other names - e.g. 'Home locksmith', 'Emergency Locksmith Service 24/7') is a fraudulent locksmith business. Do not use them. It is a scam.
I'd stupidly locked myself out of my flat, and was stuck between a rock and a hard place - I needed someone to help me get back into my flat.
It would have been nice to have known these reviews ahead of time - to be fair, I thought I was ordering another company, but this is who is on the invoice.
It was nice that they came very quickly, but the prices (which I'd thought included labour etc) kept jacking up from the original quote of £59 to the high hundreds - a total price I was only given after all the work had been done, and therefore didn't have much of a choice about. The locksmith was also not able to properly understand my complaint, which added to my frustration.
To be quite honest, I'm pretty sure this is a scam, and am considering legal action.
On a side note, also be aware that VAT is not included in their prices, which goes against common practice in the UK.
Sadly I didn't read these reviews first.
Positive: They responded quickly even though it wasn't an emergency. They provided a receipt quickly
Negative: A new part had to be ordered - ok that happens but I got an explanation that it was an unusual fitment. Total cost £480!!!! Technician's Englih was poor so made phone conversations difficult.
I wouldn't recommend using this franchise as huge profits seem to be the driving factor but my usual locksmith wasn't available.
Do not trust this company.
The company quoted £120 plus vat for the job. When the locksmith arrived he said there would be an additional charge on top of £180 plus vat. Total cost £360.
Not reliable.
Did a stupid thing and locked myself out this morning. I had no phone but the buildings caretaker very kindly allowed me to use his computer. I just picked the first locksmith I found. The locksmith arrived, he was very pleasant and very helpful and was a good worker. The unfortunate this was it cost £364 to replace a Yale lock, which I did not expect it too be that much.
Failed to turn up despite a pre-arranged appointment. When I called, I was told that the person had gone to another appointment because they hadn't managed to get hold of me. My husband was at the property waiting. I was on the tube so had not received the call and was not told when I booked the appointment by phone that it would not be kept if I did not answer my phone beforehand. The company then promised someone would come in 20 minutes and nobody came. When I called again, I was told the contractor would call my husband nobody did.
They give false quotes and have zero customer service skills.
We were quoted £45 via phone. The locksmith then turned up and removed our lock. After removing the lock he advised it would be £120 which was not what we were quoted on the phone. He also had no real justification for why it was this much. Don't bother booking with them unless you want to be ripped off.
Shame I can't give a zero star.
A friend of mine had a problem with her front door lock and needed it fixed quickly. Well, they came out in 30 minutes, fixed in 20 minutes with a new lock, but then presented her with a bill for £324, including £156 for a new lock which I could buy for £40. Shocking. If I could, I would give no stars. Avoid this company.
£720 to open door and change a basic latch. Despite being quoted £45 plus parts.... Rogue traders; Do not use.
I had a door that would not close. I rang them up and they came to fix the door. They spent five minutes fixing and what do you know two weeks later the door did not close. The same problem in spite of a six month guarantee (which doesn't make any sense to me anyway because no parts were used). They came back to repair a second time and wanted even more money. They repaired the lock but stripped the handle which I will have to replace. Not a very good service. I emailed them to say I wasn't happy but no reply. I wouldn't use again.
After calling up twice and clarifying that it was £45+VAT per lock opened (no callout fee or additional cost mentioned), therefore £45+VAT for one, £90+VAT for two, I agree to have a locksmith be sent out. Ended up only needing one lock opened but the man sent out told us that it was a more complicated job that would damage our lock and therefore need to have it changed as well. He tried to charge us £45 callout fee and £75 for labour without mention of cost of parts or the changing of the lock. Before allowing him to start we called the company a third time to clarify. They told my boyfriend that there was no callout fee and it was £45 for labour, a fact he got them to repeat to him multiple times before asking them to tell that to the locksmith. When he handed the phone to the locksmith, all we heard was him saying "yes, that's what I told them". Clearly one of them was lying and the whole thing seemed incredibly shady so we sent him away and called another locksmith.
Do not use this company. They are scammers.
Same service as the previous reviewer. Quoted me £45 for labour and £25-50 for new lock depending. Seemed reasonable. Then removed my lock and tried to charge me £145 for labour + £120 for parts.Taking advantage of people in emergency situations. Terrible and will be reporting to trading standards having spoken to a number of other locksmiths who have confirmed it as baiting people with cheap first quote only to hike the price up when you’ve removed someone’s lock. What is the world coming to.
