Why log me out after two minutes? While I am researching "a new" investment this website closes me down. Abysmal. Why can't you offer extended browsing times (Like EQi)? Who are you afraid of?

Great communication has won my business
I'm not a customer of iWeb yet but I used their web chat to ask some questions about transferring in to their ISA product and I was put in touch with a human who answered all my questions clearly and quickly. It was so refreshing to deal with a human and get the right information, rather than a bot that can't answer my questions. I will be opening an account with iWeb because of my good experience, as I now know if i need information as a customer, I will be able to speak to a human and get answers quickly.

Hafsa explained about regular investing which I confused with monthly regular investing via Direct Debit. He explained that IWeb do not provide this service

Web interface developed by 5 year olds
I had the misfortune of starting an ISA with iWeb. Their search pages do not work. I am logged in but when I click on the ETF quicklist it does not recognise I am logged in (so it loops ad infinitum). My apologies to all five year old for the title. I am sure most five year old will produce a far superior web interface thatn this crap. Whilst HL and AJB are in the 21st century, iWeb sit comfortably int he 18th century.

It is your website that opens a new tab in Chrome when I click on the quick ETF link, not me. Even if it opens a new tab in the Chrome window - as I am already logged in the new tab should also keep me logged in. It is known as cookies. But I guess this is too much to expect from the iWeb site. In any case your search widgets inside the site is even worse than a chocolate teapot (because at least you can eat the melted chocolate).

I’ve tested the journey thoroughly, and I can confirm it works as expected. When you use our site, please sign in and use just one internet window or tab. If you open multiple tabs, the site won’t recognise you’re signed in. It’ll ask you to enter your details again.
If you continue to experience problems, I’d initially suggest using a different browser, and clearing your Cache – this is known to resolve issues sometimes.
If you’ve followed all of the above steps and you still continue to experience issues, please contact us via telephone or using our Web Chat service and we’ll try to resolve this for you.

Awful experience
Awful experience trying to log in to my account. Spent hours and multiple attempts without success. Eventually helped by an online chat but by this time I was tearing my hair out.
I appreciate that online security is of the utmost importance but there is a balance to be achieved between security and accessibility, especially for the old who grew up in a time before online banking. I was sorely tempted to close my accounts and deal with a competitor.

Rather basic service
IWEb does not provide live running cash statements so it is difficult to check whether dividends have been paid. They don't pay interest on cash balances either. Statements are only every three months.

Great service, providing everything most people need, at a low cost
I've seen some reviews stating that their service is pretty basic, and the web interface clunky. To be honest though, it's simple, straightforward, and works fine for the vast majority of cases. Combine this with the very low transaction fee and it's been a solid service for me for many years now.
Customer service has been excellent the few times I've had to use it, and any problems were resolved quickly in a single call/webchat/email.
I can understand that some people may want a more powerful, slicker or comprehensive solution, but there are other providers which offer that.
IWeb has been consistent and reliable (I've used it for over 10 years now), and I would thoroughly recommend it for the majority of people.
