I was fortunate to have been referred to Kam by my optician once they realised I had a retina tear. I was seen immediately and underwent a laser corrective procedure the same day.
Kam explains everything during the consultation and provides excellent advice for recovery.

I went to see Kam Balaggan when I was distressed about my poor vision.
He was calm, reassuring and able to explain clearly to me how he perceived the problem, and how he felt that he would be able to help me achieve the best vision possible. I was happy for him to do whatever was necessary, and pleased with the results. On further review, it is apparent to him that laser treatment may possibly be beneficial. I feel extremely confident with him as my consultant.

Friendly, professional and that ability to communicate in easy to understand English rather than hide behind medical language. Mr Balaggan is brilliant and has saved my sight for a second time. I would not hesitate to recommend him as he has literally changed my life.

Mr Balaggan fully explained what would happen during the surgery and made me feel totally at ease,he gave me various options to consider, there was no pressure regarding any decisions i wanted to make.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes in January, 3 weeks apart.
Mr Balaggan informed me on the procedure, and the type of lens most suitable for me. I also felt supported by his secretary.
I did my own research, which helped me make an informed decision.
6 months post op, I am delighted with the outcome.
I am glasses free now, and my quality of life has improved, which was the aim of the surgery. Thank you.

Had Macular Hole surgery with Mr Balaggan. Whilst the operation sounds awful, I found the whole process incredibly smooth with Mr Balaggan who was extremely professional, clear and concise and he was able to calm my nerves completely. Would recommend Mr Balaggan to anyone

Kam was really approachable and friendly every time we met. He explained all the procedures, answered all my questions and reassured me.
He repaired a macular hole in both my left and right eye followed by cataract surgery in the same. Prior to each of the operations, as well as during and after he put my mind at ease which was a massive help as I was very anxious. He was also available when I needed to contact him after one of the operations to discuss and advise on a query I had.
I have complete faith in him and would recommend him to anyone needing eye surgery.

Mr Balaggan was recommended to me by my optician because of his expertise in the type of surgery I needed. From our first meeting he was very kind and friendly and wanted to understand what my expectations would be following the surgery and then suggested the best options for me. After arriving at the hospital on the day of the surgery he explained the procedure so that I knew what to expect. Although I was a little apprehensive, the process was quick and painless. From the next morning, I was able to read a newspaper without any contact lenses for the first time in many years. I would like to thank him for his help and would not hesitate to go back to him should any other problem with my eyes arise. I highly recommend Mr Balaggan.

Mr Balaggan was amazing, right from my first meeting with him, through eye surgery (macular hole and cataract) to my final follow up consultation. He has been kind, informative, exceptionally knowledgeable and has always made sure i was aware of the procedures and outcomes. I knew I was in safe hands, which was a huge relief. I had both of my cataract's done earlier this year by Mr Balaggan. I was very nervous but he was so kind and patient explaining everything to me, answering all my questions. I can’t thank him enough, it all went really well.

I visited Spire hospital in Little Aston on 2 occasions to have complex cataract removal on both eyes by Mr Kam Ballagan.Both procedures went very well (I'm a nervous patient ) Mr Ballagan and his team were 1st class from start to finish .He and his staff were attentive Reasuring and kind to me throughout.My eyesight was pretty bad in March and I drive for a living so I've been unable to work .But now in April I can see without spectacles and I don't have to wear sunglasses in the bright sunshine which was a particularly big problem for me.All in the space of 6 weeks My eyesight is as good as when I was in my youth.I will be forever grateful to Mr Ballagan and his team for saving my sight and enabling me to work again until I retire .

Mr Balaggan is very skilled. He is careful and considerate. He is able to give a clear explanation of the condition and treatment. He inspires confidence and can be thoroughly recommended.

CATARACT SURGERY ETC.
All aspects of the treatment for cataract surgery were carried out wonderfully and the recovery is going very well. Prior to the surgery there were also a few issues and these were dealt with successfully. Would highly recommend Mr Balaggan for cataract surgery and other retinal eye problems. He offers a great professional service and provides good aftercare.

Mr Balaggan was friendly and professional at the consultation. He took an interest in my particular issue and was very thorough, ensuring I understood all he was telling me.

Very professional - exceptional care and consideration given. I’ve now had both of my cataract operations completed on 11/1/25 and 8/3/25 and I do not have any complaints about any aspect from start to discharge today.
