Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the product, specifically noting a decline in quality. They frequently reported that the coffee now tastes bland, weak, and watery, often describing it as having a "nasty" or "awful" flavor. Issues with the product not dissolving properly, leaving a powdery residue, were also commonly mentioned. Reviewers also highlighted changes in the recipe, with some noting a reduction in coffee content and an artificial, bitter aftertaste. This has led many long-time consumers to state they will no longer purchase the product and are seeking alternative brands.

Horrible

I recently bought flat white sachets as an alternative to Nescafe cappuccino which are now undrinkable. These Kenco sachets are no better. They taste artificial and sickly, with a horrible aftertaste. I dread to think what is in them. I am going to save a fortune not buying these sachets and will now stick with tea.

The most vile disgusting taste ever

The most vile disgusting taste ever. If you are not a sugar person, which covers up the chemical taste, all you can taste is bitter chemicals in this evil product. Who is paying this company to hurt people??? That's what I want to know!!!!

Not Nice.

I love the Kenco Decaff but thought i'd try the plant based Almond Latte. well it's not nice i'm afraid and there is only a slight taste of almonds. One of my colleagues spat hers out after one sip.
Ah well i will have to stick to the Decaf

Migraine in a jar

Well done Kenko, you inconsiderate asses.
Across the board, the industry-wide common practice is for decaf products to comprise of blue packaging - it's a simple and effective way of differentiating decaf from caf on the supermarket shelf. Not Kenko - let's give our RICH blend instant a prominent blue bar - that'll be sure to catch the unwary caffeine-intolerant customer out and ensure that they combine a waste of their money with a blistering migraine!

You only have the entire rest of the visible spectrum to choose from FFS.

Instant is now disgusting.

The company has changed their Rich and Smooth (apparently across the board) instant coffee quality. If you feel you've noticed it tasting worse, you're not alone, because they've started mixing in cheaper beans.

After 20 years buying their coffee, it's now the same dishwater as the Supermarket own brand with some people saying that their supermarket's coffee actually tastes better!

Go back to your old recipe, or admit you changed it to make it cheaper to make. Consumers aren't as stupid as your teams seem to think we are.

Rip off

Old sachets contained 18.1 grams. New sachets 11.1 grams. Not enough for a decent cuppa. RIP OFF 😡

Same add 6 times in a 5 min video!
If your product would be so good you wouldn't have to harass people with constant adds. Very annoying and most certainly off-putting to buy the product. A good product doesn't need so much advertising.

kenco duo pods

kenco, part of douwe egberts, a couple of years ago ,introduced a nice instant coffee pod called DUO. lovely taste. they then changed the formula and i wrote to them in an effort to help them. the result was that i got a 5€ voucher. enough for ONE packet of 6. so as they made no changes, i had to get used to the new taste. but something has gone wrong in their manufacture of the pods. the pods come with two sections....the powdered milk, and the actual instant coffee. over the last 9 months or so, the seal between the two compartments has not been right, meaning that the two ingredients ìnter mix and the coffee can not be made as instructed. this has affected around 50% of the pods. an email describing the problem has elicited no response.
the idea of the pods is good, but is let down by poor quality control

Kenco ageism in advertising

Kenco seems to endorse an ageist stereotype. The person telling the children "you can't play here" is an old man. Are we to believe only old people object to children playing, I am 76 and have no problem with youngsters kicking a football in my street. Yes they do sometimes hit my door but my children also played in the street. Also sadly tho my street is opposite a park, sadly unlike when I was a child you don't have the freedom to play there without adult supervision

I hope this company loses a lot of money. I used to buy their coffee all the time but they are still putting the price up again I went into BMs and found Kenko put the price up buy another 0.50p now £6 so since cost of living they are showing greed so I have changed my brand now. Kenko if you read this I hope your company closes down soon and don't blame the consumer blame yourself for greed inflation is down but you keep increasing your price SHAME ON You, you are ripping use off and you take the consumer for fools.

After watching the latest advert…

After watching the latest advert campaign ( we rise to uplift each other ) I need to feedback to Kenco that this is possibly one of the worst TV ads ever, obviously not as bad as Verisure Alarms but still right up there as the worst. Coffee not bad though, just sack the UK marketing team.

rediculous unreasonable price increase

Absolutely rediculous unreasonable price increases- very very disappointed, the flat white sachets taste awful now! I have emailed directly to complain no replacement or amendment was offered.
Quality has gone down as has quantity and price has gone up! Price has increased 50- 80%????
Was my favourite and now I would not reccomend! I can't believe how greedy the price increase is- and to lower quality and quantity too- clearly kenko only care about greed and profit over customers. So disappointed would not reccomend ever again.
Additionally it just tried to stop me leaving this review!!!!! Shocking.

Change of format on unsweetened cappachino. No taste now! …

Very upset you have changed the format of your unsweetened cappachino. The packets have suddenly become half the size, and quite frankly half the taste. I have been drinking this coffee for a long time, and now will have to find something else!!!! I’m so annoyed that companies do this! Why???? Please go back to how it was.
