Great experience, overall. Very interesting projects. A great plus is that, compared to other platforms, newcomers seem to have the same chances of getting hired as people who have been on the platform for longer.
A suggestion: I think a Kolabtree mobile app is definitely needed to facilitate interactions and file exchanges with clients on the go.

Great way to meet potential collaborators and the platform does facilitate first time collaborations in a way that feels safe.

However, the rules and the platform need updating.

1) It does not make sense to forbid the freelancer and the customer from talking about price. This undermines the transparency needed to build trust and understanding in a collaboration.

Both parties need to reach an understanding that the scope of work scales with the budget available. How can that happen if the customer budgets so much and the freelancer receives only 80% of it?

Transparent communication about budget, scope, and fees to Kolabtree are necessary to accomplish the mission of the platform and for healthy and sustainable collaborations.

2) Secondly, it would be best if Kolabtree had a mobile-friendly communication platform, or even a mobile-friendly browser interface. The current browser interface can feel burdensome, causing collaborators to move their communications to other platforms.

All of this being said - when issues arose and I contacted customer service, their replies were prompt and helpful. Kolabtree has my recommendation to continue providing this valuable service and to improve.

Overall I like the platform as it gives freelancers to connect with the right projects. There are a few tweaks needed:
1. Several projects are posted but many of these are never closed. There is no way to know the status.
2. Visibility to how many applications received would be great.
3. There has to be a mechanism where freelancers can rate the project posters. Just like Uber where the driver and the rider rate each other.

Kolabtree is a very good platform with high paying projects compared to other freelancing platforms. The only issue I have with them is customer service. They take a week to respond to your request and their fund processing system is very slow. They ask you for days to do a simple thing like reactivating your account which should take less time than writing an email they send you. Other than that, I am happy with the platform.

The system is broken on many levels.
1. Once a client accepts a proposal, it will be very difficult for you to negotiate terms (such as deadline and fees). The issue of deadlines is particularly sensitive, due to the same problem: a client might take some time before accepting the proposal, and then funding, which makes the already proposed deadline obsolete.
2. The site seems to have multiple bugs (at the time of writing); Tried to notify customer service about these issues with little result.
3. Contacting customer service is complicated enough; smart assistant could have been a good idea.

Kolabtree's recommendation for a freelancer was the best ever. The gentleman went above and beyond with his deliverables. He was able to understand the task at hand right away without to many explanations, or questions asked. You need a freelancer to work on your project? Kolabtree is the way to go. Thank you so much. You cannot guarantee payment upon completion of the project. I worked on a project, but I set a long deadline to allow for discussion. I cannot change the deadline, although I asked the Kolabtree team many times without response. I completed the project, waited until the deadline, and expected to receive my fees. However, to my surprise, the company engaged in months-long negotiations before finally agreeing to pay me. Initially, they proposed a payment of half the fees, based on the client's belief that he had already paid and therefore accepted the work. To get my fees, I have to do the company role and contact the client and explain to him that he must approve the work, and he did, but the company did not pay me until I sent them the client invoice, which he shared with me. They agreed to reimburse me for my fees, but the project remains open on my profile company's website. I do not know what they want.

This is the first time I have used Kolabtree. The platform and process was very easy to follow. And the freelancer was very quick and their communication was excellent. Will use Kolabtree again.

The one area which needs improvement is the payment system. It appears to work on the funds in siude, but the payment to the expert is confusing and opaque. The information provided to the expert really needs to be clarified and the information posted to the expert's account needs to be timely and correct.
