Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 218 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found it extremely difficult to contact customer service, often being unable to speak with a live agent or experiencing disconnections during calls. Customers also reported issues with unexpected charges, higher-than-agreed-upon bills, and problems with payments not being processed correctly. Reviewers frequently mentioned that the service itself was unreliable, with poor phone and internet connections. Some people were dissatisfied with the lack of support for resolving billing discrepancies and the negative impact on their credit scores due to these issues. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with specific in-store representatives and found the cellular options to be good for self-serve users.

Given the run around

I had been a loyal customer for >15 years. Never had any troubles until recently. When I noticed I had call overage charges with $15 calls to my live in boyfriend, I reviewed my help my self portal and it said I had unlimited Canada wide calls and text. When I went to refute the charges, firstly it was next to impossible to get someone on the phone because the chat just wanted to tell me to pay my bill, secondly when I got someone on the phone after an hour they told me there would be an "investigation" and someone would call me back this happened twice, and no one called. Then I got a notice that they were intending to cut my service, because I was continuing to pay my monthly, but declined to pay the overages. I was then told that there was a glitch on their website, they took no responsibility and I was offered $5 and told that was all they could do. They did offer another plan, pretty well the same plan as help my self plan, and told there would be a $15 charge to change. This same plan which was not offered on help my self, what a joke. Good bye Koodo, thank you for wasting my time, hope these changes you've made make your company go bankrupt.

Koodo ruining my credit rating

After I switched to TELUS (who has been excellent BTW, suprise!) I received a final bill in November for the remainder of my phone contract. I had forgotten about this final bill, and did not notice it in my email as I was not expecting another bill from Koodo after I switched. When I got a call from a collection agency in January I paid the outstanding balance immediately. Koodo has continued to report me to the credit bureau for late payments ever since. I managed to reach a person after much effort, only to be told my balance was 0 but it was up to the collections agency to remove the bad credit reporting, which is totally wrong. They got my money, and that was the last interest they had in the account. I have not received another bill from the collections agency, and I have a receipt saying I paid the bill. Now I have to pursue a lengthy process to get the erroneous reports reversed on my time. DO NOT GET KOODO, it will end up more expensive than a decent company.

Lies about unpaid bills

Told my parents they didn’t owe money when they cancelled their contracts (which were under my name) and then proceeded to send a bill to collections THREE YEARS LATER.

Koodo used to be great

Koodo used to be great. Been with them over 10 years. I liked: 1) No marketing calls. They seem to come once a month now. 2) The plan was carved in stone. Lately, the plan charge was upped without notice. "Coincidentally", there has been a push to sign up for PAD payment. They have become just like every other provider. Gouge and scam.

I think your company is playing games…

I think your company is playing games with its customers. Your service used to be good, but now it has become genuinely frustrating and disappointing. Humanity really did invent “customer support” just to test the psychological endurance of strangers.

I have already spent time explaining my issue six different times, and each time I was told that I would receive a call at a specific hour. Then, exactly at the scheduled time, my phone rings and the call disconnects immediately.

Honestly, how can a telephone company not even manage to properly call its own customers? It almost feels like you’ve started some kind of new game instead of providing actual support.

Honeymoon stage is quickly over

Koodo is all sweetness and light when you want to sign up but 100% Terrible if you have an issue. If you are lucky enough to get a human, often you can hardly hear the for all the noise in the background. They interrupt half way through your explanation and repeat the information you already told them was not helpful or working. They have messed up my subscription to Prime so badly, they have no idea how to sort things out. Checking out new providers.

Quite the glutton for punishment

Quite the glutton for punishment. I've been with koodo for years, and sadly no improvements to their quality of service for device. They said they went to 5G now; you never know it, still works the same, which means it doesn't work.Telus has to be the most crooked of all the suppliers. Having problems with them now since last year. I'm fed up. High price for what? No service, high prices, crappy service. Not worth it at all!

18 Year Customer Treated Like A Complete Nobody.

Have been with Koodo Mobile since September 2008.Few days ago my wife decided to go with auto pay to save $8 a month. Our billing date is the 5th of the month. She changed to autopay online on April 23. On April 27 th they took out both our account payments and no discount and 8 days before our monthly ‘payment date. We always paid our bill same day it would come in. My wife contacted T.D. Bank and they said contact Koodo and cancel your auto pay and ask why they did this. My wife talked to Koodo and they said they could not credit payment back but they were at fault and there is nothing in their fine print saying they would bill you right away. We had just made our monthly payment for April bill around April 6. Did not even offer a credit on our account of any amount. My wife then contacted T.D. Bank online and she filled out a dispute which we hope to get our payment back and Koodo will be getting paid from now on on the last day bill is due each month. The payment put us in overdraft with charges as we had other payments come out Thursday. We are seniors and did not get pension payment till today the 28th. Very disgusted with Koodo as you cannot even call them anymore and whenever we waited for a callback it cut the call off every time. Does not matter if you are new customer or older customer of 18 years you are nothing. We are sure other companies are maybe the same but we are going to be looking to switch as we have a hard time giving them another dime of our money after this. They do not even have a cell tower near us in Dresden area and cannot even call or receive calls half the time. Thanks For Nothing.

Should be no stars.
Trying to cancel service due to death of account holder. Cannot speak to a representative. Forced to schedule for callback through Chat, callback never happens.
It’s been 3 hours attempting to speak to a representative, scheduled 4 callbacks which have never occurred.

Do NOT choose Koodo any other company has to have better customer service than Koodo.

No one’s home at Koodo, seems customer service is non existent.

Koodo King Crap

Canada is 100% horrible when it comes to anything phone/internet! All the companies are complete garbage and overprice everything. Koodo is no better. Their plans suck, their data sucks, the prices suck. I would be happy to send them to China and bring their companies here

Douglas in Customer Service

Douglas in Customer Service. 12:30 pacific time April 17th. He is in the wrong field of work. This guy knows nothing about CS. Unprofessional, flippant, arrogant and rude. He didn't address my concerns regarding my mobile service at all. He only told me what I already knew. He got so frustrated that he hung up on me. This is bad for business. Telus/Koodo ditch the staffers who are only there for the paycheck and the Neverending opportunities to make your company look bad.

I had a problem which The Customer Rep identified as a Fraud,I was asked to pay $300 and something .I was told I had another account which I am not aware of and I do not use.I pay my phone Bills Promptly,Because of this I cannot move from Koodoo to Telus.I contacted Koodoo Reps and I was being transferred from one person to another, nobdy is able to solve this problem.I am so disappointed ,I had to be on hold for long, being tossed from one person to another, not getting at least a promising response or someone who is willing to investigate it.Some of the Reps I do not understand. It was a terrible experince and I am going to cancel my plan with Koodoo.
