Love everything about Krystal
I love everything about Krystal. They are one of the few true UK hosting companies I would trust with my data. Their website UX is phenomenal and everything just flows nicely. They are slightly on the more expensive side, but I don't mind paying for the quality of service received.

I recently upgraded my hosting plan…
I recently upgraded my hosting plan with Krystal. Following the upgrade, all three of my business domains went down.
I called support on 17 April at 9.16am. The call lasted 11 minutes. The advisor was dismissive and unhelpful — she implied I was mistaken about my domains being managed by Krystal, despite this being clearly stated on my registrar (123-reg). She directed me to check and fix the DNS myself, rather than acknowledging that the disruption was a direct consequence of the plan upgrade.
I followed up in writing and the issue was resolved promptly by Ben, the migration specialist, who was professional and acted immediately. The contrast between the two interactions could not have been starker.
The point is not the technical outcome — it is the way the initial call was handled. A customer reporting a business-critical outage following a plan upgrade should not be made to feel they are at fault or being dishonest. That is not an acceptable standard of customer service.
I have submitted formal feedback and requested the call recording be reviewed and addressed through staff training.
Update — 19 April 2026
Within a few hours of this review being published, on a Saturday evening, I was contacted personally by David Kimberley, Chief Executive Officer at Krystal. He confirmed he had listened to the call recording and apologised unreservedly for the way it was handled. He also confirmed the matter will be raised with the Head of Support and addressed through training.
I appreciate that David took the time on a Saturday evening to investigate and respond personally. That level of accountability is reassuring and I hope it leads to a better experience for other customers in similar situations.
My original review stands as an accurate account of what happened. The CEO's response, however, reflects well on the company's willingness to take responsibility when things go wrong.

Outstanding technical support
Outstanding technical support from Matthew Garner and Sean Ellis, who responded incredibly quickly (7 minutes and 20 minutes respectively) to my support request.
I had a gnarly problem with my old, unsupported email client, which was failing to connect to the Krystal mail server. Matthew identified the cause immediately and provided the perfect solution which involved a very specific update to my equally old, unsupported operating system.
This was the kind of awkward problem that other providers would most likely have dodged. Many thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty. I feel completely validated for choosing Krystal for my web and email hosting.

Krystal Hosting is by far superior …
Having previously tried several web hosting re-seller companies I can genuinely say Krystal Hosting is by far superior to others I have tried. Their support network is exceptional. My latest request for help (not urgent and I logged as '24-hour response would be acceptable') was responded to within 13 minutes. Site restored within 30 minutes! Some other companies may be slightly cheaper but are they there when you really need their professional support? Krystal will always have your back!

A Hosting Purchase Treated Like a Criminal Investigation
I tried to buy hosting for my active VAT-registered UK company, but because I live in Turkiye, my order was flagged for manual review.
What followed was absurd. For a simple hosting purchase, I was asked to provide:
a photo of myself holding my passport or other government-issued ID
a recent utility bill
matching personal details across all documents
Let that sink in. This is hosting, not a mortgage application, a bank loan, or a border control interview.
I was not trying to buy a physical product and disappear with it. I was trying to pay in advance for a one-year hosting service for a legitimate UK company. Even the payment itself was made from my business account and approved through the app.
I understand reasonable fraud checks. What I do not understand is why a normal business customer should be expected to send a selfie holding a passport just to buy hosting. Because I live in a country they do not like? That certainly feels discriminatory, as others here have also pointed out.
This level of verification is excessive, intrusive, and frankly ridiculous. It feels disproportionate, outdated, and completely detached from what a normal customer experience should look like in a global digital industry.
If your onboarding process effectively tells international business owners, “you are suspicious until proven otherwise,” that is not good security practice. It is just bad customer experience dressed up as compliance.
There are many hosting providers in 2026. I will gladly take my business to one that understands the difference between sensible verification and treating customers like potential criminals.
I wanted to buy hosting for my UK company from a UK provider. Instead, I got a lesson in how to lose a customer before the service even begins. I will certainly be sharing this experience with others.

Brilliant only a short period in but the help and information they've given us in moving our website especially not being a website builder or having any knowledge myself they've made everything go smooth and pointed me in the right directions from start to finnish. Still in process of moving over to them as a host for our website but can already tell you that these guys are the real deal in wanting to provide the best service.
