Order accepted, Meal Never Arrived, and Charged Anyway

I ordered through kukd, just after 10.30 pm, a meal from Spice Republic 176 Dartmouth Road, London, SE26 4QZ.
The meal did not arrive. When I phoned, a man casually said that the kitchen closed at 10.30 and that he had cancelled the order (without informing me). So naturally I expected that at least I would not be charged - it is obvious that the meal could not have been delivered. But in spite of my protestation the restaurant has refrained from refunding the money.
So my experience is : no service, explanation only on enquiry, and they have my money unjustifiably.

Ordered online an Indian meal from memsabb Indian restaurant Hertford.

5 minutes later I receive a phone call to say there will be no delivery as the restaurant is closed and I should receive a refund within 2-3days.

Pretty useless in my opinion to take payment and orders when a restaurant is closed.
After reading other reviews it appears this is a regular occurrence at KUKD and people don't always receive their refund.

Do not use!!!

I advise restaurants against this company

I advise all restaurants thinking about using kukd to think again it's clear they have no quality processes and practices in their software delivery process.

The app doesn't allow basic functionality such as updating or removing items from your basket. It also crashes when you try and change from delivery to collection.

It appears that many many people struggle daily with the kukd delivery app.

Ruined an evening for us.

Disgusting customer service

Disgusting customer service. I placed an order from a local takeaway, with the order and payment processed by Kukd.

The restaurant cancelled the order because 'they were too busy'. Why did Kukd still allow the takeaway to take the order via their website and why did Kukd start the process of taking my money (almost £50) before even confirming that the takeaway were going to fulfill the order?

Why, in this day and age, can a company take money from your account in the blink of an eye, but then take 3-5 days to refund, if they even bother?

I have been in email contact but have received the usual 'copy and paste' responses apologising and stating they will improve in the future.... yeah, whatever...

Think twice about using any online ordering that is completed via Kukd. They'll take your money, won't care and won't hold offending takeaways/restaurants to account.

EDIT: The reply below smacks of copy and paste responses. It is also inaccurate.

The 'eatery' were NOT accepting orders. We ordered and Kukd accepted the order on behalf of the takeaway and processed payment, taking our money. The takeaway weren't accepting orders - they emailed directly cancelling the order immediately and we phoned them direct and they confirmed they were too busy and weren't accepting orders.

This I blame Kukd for. A great business model - take orders the takeaway can't fulfill, take the money anyway and then make you wait a week to refund you. And then blame banks because of the time of year.

I now flatly refuse to use any takeaway websites that use Kukd as the ordering and payment system. I've also warned all family and friends.

SCAM

Absolute scam of a company, our local Indian website appears to have its own ordering app.. NO its actualy kukd.com.
Our order was placed at 9pm *store is open till 11pm and takes orders up too 10.30pm*

We call them at 10.20 because our orders late *order no later than 10.16 to arrive*
They tell us online ordering is closed
They then tell us the orders on the way
We call kukd customer services at 10.35 because suddenly the resteraunt isn't answering calls.
They tell us they will speak to the resteraunt.
We then get a call back telling us... WE RECIVED OUR FOOD AT 9.30

We have had nothing and explained repetedly that even our building guard had seen NOBODY.
They blame us repetedly and say there's no delivery drivers and no manager present anymore.
It's 10.40 and we call the resteraunt and the manager is there telling us we received our food.

Not only did the resteraunt lie but so did the app website staff repetedly. Informed them that due to us haveing cctv we can easily prove we received no delivery to the building.
They say they will rectify this issue tmoro by talking to the delivery driver..

Absolutely a scam.. from now on we refuse to use this website or order from the resteraunt ever again.
We are reporting them to the ombusman

Took my money but no order received

Took my money but didn't place the order. Called them and they said leave it and see if the money is refunded or payment cancelled. Tried calling after 24 hours to advise my money has been taken but now they want me to send an email with a screenshot of my account transaction which I can't do due to the security feature of my banking app. Really bad. Do not use.

This firm fails to host online restaurant menus.

This firm hosts online menus for some restaurants.

I tried to complain about one which is not operating but this firm's web site prevented me from getting a message to them because after wasting my time filling in their form they have a Captcha human check which does not work because it is mostly off screen.

They also took a grant of over £1M to create new jobs but failed to do so and are meant to repay most of that grant.

Obviously not a well managed company.

And I am still unable to see the restaurant menu due to their hosting problem.

Easy and efficient process

Used this website to order from my local indian , very fast and easy I did have an issue with a duplicate payment however it was refunded promptly , would definitely use again.

Poor business practices

Twice now they have sent a discount code (FIRST10) and twice now the codes have not worked - stating that codes only work on certain days.
If that is the case, why bother sending the code on those days?
It seems to be a trick to entice customers to ordering food.
Hope they understand that wasting your customer's time and trying to fool them is not a good long term business model.

Pretty poor service

Order finally arrived 2 hours after ordering … I got the feeling the restaurant weren’t even aware I had ordered when I called to ask if it was on its way and it then took another 30 mins to arrive. When checking on the kukd website it says I had no order history despite having an email with my order confirmation and payment having been taken.

Ordered £57 worth of Indian Takeaway…

Ordered £57 worth of Indian Takeaway from a restaurant in Wanstead we had used before and trusted. However, it turned out Kukd have no affiliation with the restaurant in Wanstead and instead took our money for a bogus restaurant in Chingford. You can't contact Kukd and they have a reputation for taking money for takeaway that you will never receive. Avoid at all cost and let everyone know that Kukd are robbers.
