Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 22 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant disappointment with the quality of the products, noting issues such as cushions losing shape, fabric pilling and fading prematurely, and leather cracking or peeling within a short period. Reviewers also felt that the pricing was too high for the quality received, often describing the furniture as "junk" despite its cost. The warranty process was a major source of frustration, with many reporting difficulties in getting repairs or replacements, and some even being told their issues were not covered despite paying for extended warranties. Some people were also dissatisfied with the service, experiencing long waits for repairs, unhelpful responses, and problems with incorrect orders or designs that clashed with their existing furniture.

Well after buying a lazy boy that was…

Well after buying a lazy boy that was of such poor quality the wonderful people at SCS agreed to give us a reselection. Never ever would I buy or advise anyone to buy a lazy boy. Have ordered a new suite from SCS today but NOT lazy boy. Lazy boy you should be ashamed of making such poor quality furniture and selling it at extremely high prices. Lazy boy you were more interested in passing the buck to SCS instead of dealing with people who had bought YOUR furniture. Get your act together.

HORRIBLE COMPANY

First, let me say that if I could give it minus stars, I would. This used to be a top of the line furniture store. Their prices are certainly up there on top! I paid $2000 for a recliner and it has never been right. After more calls to their "no custom care" line, my blood pressure rose because I would wait for over 45 minutes each time and still never got through to anybody. I called the store and was told by the manager in no uncertain terms that he is just a middle man and not his problem. I ended up taking a day to drive 2 hours to speak to someone face to face about this problem. chair leans forward, and spins to the left when I lift my feet up. VERY uncomfortable. I finally have decided to live with it. I'm 71 and just am tired of talking to people that could not care any less. I will not darken the doorway of any Lazy boy store again. absolutely horrible. You would be better off buying from any other place.

Avoid LA-Z-BOY

we bought a la-z-boy recliner in March 2022. the leather on the arms started peeling within 11 months. We contacted la-z-boy who sent an engineer out to inspect the chair. Their verdict was that it was not a manufacturing issue and therefore not their problem. the quality of their products is poor as is their customer service. Their warranty is non existent.

Prepair service is non existent

Repair service is non existent. Five time now they have canceled coming to repair the arm (frame) of my couch. Today was the last straw...they canceled but only after I called them for them to tell me the repairman had a family emergency. The 4 times before that he was sick. I've wasted another 3 hours of my day waiting and he didn't even have enough courtesy to call and say he wasn't going to make it. Grrrr. Told them to never send this same repairman again!!

Sorry already sold…

As our grandmother has recently found herself with a hurt back, we’re shopping for a lift chair. First of all the sales lady is ABSOLUTELY in the wrong business! Regardless we find the right chair, just as we are about to pay another worker comes up to tell us this chair is sold to someone IN ANOTHER store. Needless to say, lazy boy lost our business. This way of business was all around bad.

Bad Product and No service

I normally don’t write reviews; however, La Z Boy is so bad I felt I needed to say something. I purchased a sectional and chair which cost over 10,000.00, and it took over seven months to be delivered. I was told it was a U.S. made product with a great warranty. However, within hours of delivery the recliner broke. I looked under the broken footrest to discover it was made in Mexico. It took several weeks and numerous phone calls and emails to get a technician to respond.
The technician said the footrest was rubbing on the carpet and said my carpet was the problem. I pointed out that the identical recliner at the other end of the sectional was not rubbing, and he said nothing. He made a minor adjustment, so recliner functioned but still rubbed on the carpet. The technician said that it was the best he could without La Z Boy authorizing additional repairs. The technician admitted that eventually the carpet would wear a hole in the footrest.
In his report he said my carpet was the problem. I showed La Z Boy the specs. of my carpet proving it was not the problem and still they refused to repair or replace it. I spoke with the parent company, which said they could not do anything because each store is independently owned.
Beware of La Z Boy, they sell a cheap product at a high price, and they will not honor their warranty.

It started off ok

It started off ok. The sales woman was showing me many different recliners and spending time initially. After we got the chair home, my other half had to put the top piece on. We paid fifty dollars to have it shipped from the warehouse to the store. No more free service there. We live in the same town and my other half has a truck so we picked it up; in two pieces. He put the back on the chair once home with difficulty. We called twice to get it on correctly and he is a contractor and puts things together all the time without issue. The cushion protruded out so much; it was not comfortable while sitting or reclining. After 2 phone calls to the store I decided it would go back. The sales person who sold me the chair was not available when we returned the chair. she had agreed that we could return our purchase within 3 days and come back and get the floor model. In the 3 day window my other half went to get the floor model. I called to let the local store he and worker we’re coming to get the floor model. The lady who I talked with acted completely ignorant of this situation and the sales lady who sold me the chAir was off and not available. My other half was paying his worker to help. End result is that the chairs have to be assembled and communication is poor at the best.
once they make a sale is they could care less about the customer. This is ChiciCalifornia Now the test is to see if the. chair will hold up. Not worth 1400 plus dollars it cost for only leather on the arms and seat. I know I will not be back for other purchases

I didn't know

I didn't know, really, I didn't know that "Comfort Care" what the heck is that!! I didn't know how bad this company was. I would not have ordered anything. I ordered an office chair, bonded leather, $450. It arrived in a box from La-Z-Boy. The bottom plastic housing for is cracked and large pieces broken off. The La-Z-Boy emblem on the back of the chair is affixed crooked. There is also foam sticking out of the bottom of the back and a hole in the side of the back of the chair. I first called "comfort care" dumbest name ever. I was yelled at by Jamie because this is not their chair!! It came from a dealer. This is not my problem. I ordered from and made payment to La-Z-Boy - not their "dealer." I then called a local store where I was advised that they cannot take the chair back, they don't have the material to box it up to send it back. I told them that I have the box. The salesgirl that answered told me she would not give me a refund. She then hung up on me. I called back and spoke to Mark and asked who hung up on me? He said he asked both females working at the store and both denied hanging up on me. I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone trying to resolve this. Do you know you cannot contact anyone other than comfort care? Even corp. reception desk cannot forward your call to anyone but comfort care. This company is going down. Customer Service is the most important aspect of any company. La-Z-Boy does not have customer service anymore. Be warned, I wish I had read these reviews first. I have disputed the purchase through Synchrony. What a mess.

Piece of crap

Lazyboy use to be good just like everything else you bought. Lasted 1yr before the brace cracked in the front on both side's. There are several you tube videos on how to fix what a joke. Instead of running a wood screw threw to secure properly at base on each side you put metal wedges in to keep in place bound to fail. Simple wood screw! If you're going to make your product out of recycled crap at least take the measures to make it last more than a year. Never buying this cheaply overpriced brand again.

LZB has gets a "F" what a joke of a company

Dec 24 made my purchase. LZB is dishonest, the products on the showroom floor are not what shows up in your home. Have an issue? get ready for the run around by rude, condescending and arrogant sales managers. Once they make the sale in the showroom, and there's and issue, you're on your own customer service is a joke. Everyone (showroom *& warehouse managers) hide behind voice mails and emails. What a way to run a business, they use to be good, not anymore. No quality control and no customer. It must be hard working for a dishonest company.

Lazy boy

Lazy boy, recliners are garbage. First one of the supports had a huge knot in it that gave away, and I had to sister support into it. Then a year later, one of the rivets popped out of the reclining mechanism. I do not recommend this brand.

AS A FORMER EMPLOYEE with a complaint…

As a former employee with a complaint myself I can totally agree with the customer complaints I am reading here. It is next to impossible to contact La-Z-Boy though their customer service number, even at the store level. It makes a work day difficult when, as an employee, you don't even want to answer the phone.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau and got a direct number for their corporate offices in Monroe Michigan.

Now my problem with them,
My wages were $11 hr plus 2% commission.
As Part of my pay plan is I am rewarded with a $1500 bonus if I write 200,000 in a 3 month period. I achieved this Weeks before I decided to resign my Employment With the Greenfield WI store under the management of Brenda.

I was told that since I left 2 days before the quarter ended that I was not Entitled to my bonus.

Is this just Sour Grapes since I left and in spite to cheat me out of my earned wages?
Or is the is just a way to skirt around paying me what I earned and is owed to me because I quit?

Had I been fired....
Would that have changed?

I did what was expected of me. I worked the hours expected of me and this is a shame to treat an employee this. It is very telling WHO they are.

I have already reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I plan on reporting them to the Department of Labor next, and if need be this will see court.
It confirms my decision to leave this company.

For those of you trying to reach their Corporate Offices

(since at the store level... they refuse and are NOT qualified to assist you with YOUR service or complaints)

Try calling:
The district manager
JACK
La-Z-Boy
Corporate Headquarters
Monroe MI
(734) 242-1444

You worked hard for your money, you visited their establishment expecting a quality product for your money. Not a runaround.

Also their 30% sale is a standard sale at 90% of the time.
They over inflate their prices to give you a false-sense of "value".
They change it every so often so they don't get in trouble with Wisconsin's mark up laws.
It's a shameless scam.

Redwood recliner lay z boy junk It lowered Its quality to be like IKEA furniture

We ordered Redwood recliner junk from the day we received it. Three different repair men had to try and fix the shabby workmanship and cheap quality materials. Now the pressboard frame is junk and coming apart. Overpriced junky furniture. Now I have a store credit and I have to use it and buy something from La-Z-Boy that will still be junk .

Very poor customer service

Bought a recliner for my aged Mum in care. Took three weeks to get it delivered even though it was in stock at the local store. First time it was turned on a power chord was severed. It's been sitting g in the corridor outside her room since. At 93 and with a bad back its distressing to see her not getting the benefit of a comfortable chair. r Repairs are outsourced . Point of sale washes their hands. Don't buy a Lazeboy. Not worth the money

I wish I would have read all of these…before I purchased our chairs. I would have not bought them.

I wish I would have read all of these reviews prior to purchasing the two recliners last year.
We purchased our recliners July of 2022. We understood it would take a while to receive them. We did receive them in a few months later. This is when the hell began. If I was the owner of La Z Boy I would be ashamed. Not only is the product you are producing terrible so is the customer service and repair service. Something that is not shared with the customer is getting repair done to your chair is a 4 step process. 1. call repair center to schedule appointment on hold for over an hour. 2. repair comes out has to order part. 3. parts arrive at your house ( you are not told this) you have to call back to advise you have the parts and then schedule for them to come back out to fix party which means waiting on phone for over an hour again. 4. they come to fix chair. They leave and chair is not fixed as it now makes all these different annoying sounds and foot rest still does not work properly. Now we go to my husbands chair. He did not accept the first chair they delivered as there were too many issues with it. They built him a new chair, it was delivered making annoying noises. When repair man was at house to fix my chair he had them look at his and they told him the side arm piece needed to be replaced. They ordered the part. A few weeks later it broke and now the chair cannot be used. Going thru the 4 step program again. Called to schedule repair was on hold for over an hour. Called the manager at the store we purchased the chairs from, she called for us to schedule and was told they would give us a call back in 24 to 48 hours. Waited over 48 hours no call. Called store back and was told the return call time is now 3 to 5 days. this is just for a return call to schedule a repair man to come to our house! So unacceptable. I have a call into Melinda Whittington at the La Z Boy Headquarters. Let's see if we get a return call from her. La Z Boy is sure not what they used to be. I husband used to swear by their recliners. Now it appears they are cheaply made and quickly put together with no quality control on the product they are pushing out the door. They need to improve in several areas.

Had my 3seater recliner about 6 months

Had my 3seater recliner about 6 months. It’s such bad value for money! There’s no way what’s in the scs showroom is the same as what you receive! The cushioning is beyond poor! 3k I won’t be able to get back so just in case you’re unclear, do not buy a lazy boy!
