Don’t bother

Arrived about 10.30am today, told there were already three couples browsing so asked to wait ( it’s a big store so this seems a very small number of shoppers for the space but that’s fine if it keeps us all safe.) Given a buzzer (number 1) and told I was next and they would let me know when I could enter the store, so I went back to my car. Two more cars arrive and same process - assume they are given numbers 2 and 3 and told there could be quite a wait. 20 minutes later I am still waiting when the person with buzzer 2 goes to the door (clearly not happy) and they let her in. I go to the door and ask what is happening, they say the member of staff let her in as they didn’t know the process. I so wanted to use a local business and not go online but this quality of service is why businesses will not succeed. You have to look after your customers - a long wait isn’t great but I would have accepted it if you had treated us properly. Have since sourced the lights I wanted online so my business is lost and I won’t return. Sad!

I am saddened to read your review. As a small independent family run business, we take our reviews incredibly seriously, as we know how these reviews could potentially impact other people’s opinions of us. Customer service is what we take pride on, and if you read our reviews on various platforms, you will see how we exceed at this.

You are correct, we have taken Covid 19 seriously and as a result we have various measures in place to protect both our customers and staff, and one of these is the use of the buzzers during busy periods. They have been warmly welcomed, as it allows customers to wait in the comfort of their car, should they wish to.

I must reassure you that what happened during your visit, was an honest mistake by a member of staff, and they would never have intentionally meant to upset you or make you feel less valued as a customer. Sadly, we have been closed for business for many months, and we preempted mistakes would happen during the first couple of weeks of reopening, but we really hoped there would have been an element of grace and understanding from the public, especially after a member of staff explained the situation to yourself, sincerely apologised and welcomed you into our showroom.

I feel your review is unfair to our business, but I also understand your frustrations and your need to vent these initial feelings, please can you email myself at jo@lightingbug.co.uk and hopefully we can resolve your grievance towards us.

I am genuinely pleased to hear that you have sourced the lights you require and hope you receive a high level of customer service, however, I must encourage you to please support and shop local… these businesses need you!

The lighting Bug in Swindon are…

The lighting Bug in Swindon are brilliant, Over the last few years I have been updating all of my home lighting and have have 10 lights and two ceiling fans all have been perfect. They have a massive choice and friendly and helpful staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Well Done Lighting Bug......

lovely lamps

Purchasing my lamps from lightening bug couldn’t have been easier. The website is easily navigated & prices reasonable. All together a pleasant experience 😃
