Tricked into creating an account.

Paid my water bill online by debit card today. I was suprised that I was asked to give more personal details than is usual (phone number, address and email). Then I get an email from a company I have never even heard of: Link, who were asking me to confirm my email address. They went on to give details of how I could delete my account with them (WHAT ACCOUNT?!). I did not confirm my email (who ARE these jokers?) and the link just took me round in an endless loop that didn't delete diddly.
At no point did the water company say word one about 'Link', and I was not aware of what it was or given any option to decline.
Googling Link left me not much wiser as to what its advantages might be, but in any case I was so angry at being railroaded in this fashion that I want nothing to do with it in future, although I expect I'll have to go through the same rigmarole next time I pay my water bill.
The one star is not a reflection of the company so much as it's apparently underhand methods of obtaining my personal and financial details.

Hi—we understand your concern about being signed up for Link without clear disclosure or consent during your water bill payment, and particularly the frustration with being unable to delete the unwanted account. You raise valid points about the need for transparency when collecting personal information and providing clear opt-out options. While Link is designed to simplify future payments, customers should have clear choice and control. Please visit https://support.link.com/ if you need help managing or removing your information.

They Help Thieves

I lost hundreds of dollars using Link as they are not truthful and have no buyer protection. If you don’t receive what you paid for, you cannot recover the money. I paid for SEO services through Prime Web Service. They stole the money and didn’t do the work. If you are forced to use Link, use a credit card (never a debit card) so you can get your money back from the bank, as Link is for criminals to steal from the innocent.

Hi—we understand your frustration about losing hundreds of dollars on SEO services that weren't delivered. While Link processes payments for businesses, you're right to emphasize the importance of using credit cards for better fraud protection. If you've been charged for services not received, please: 1) Contact your bank immediately to dispute the charges, and 2) Use our lookup tool at https://support.stripe.com/questions/unknown-charge-from-stripe to document the merchant's details. Absolute scam of a company

Absolute scam of a company, they enable hackers and frauds to use your bank details, and always 'lose' your queries, and links they provide to 'log out of all devices' do not work.

Scammers on Instagram imitated a Sezane clothing site. Link.com was used to help the scammers process the payment.. I have used Link with a reputable company once before. Problems occur when there is fraud. Their customer service is terrible. Lots of talking and no result. I tried to email the fake seller details and emails that followed. Link does not accept emails. Link STOLE Equifax payment

ZERO STARS! Under an Equifax class action suit agreement, I was forced to sign up for Link to get my "virtual" payment. When I received notice that I had received a second payment, the money and card number were GONE! Completely gone, LINK HAD STOLEN THE BALANCE! Also, Google tagged the account as fraudulent, so I never got to use my "legal redress" and now I can't buy stuff at Google at all (They aren't trusted with my bank account either). The Link-Equifax account was completely empty, the "card" had been erased and the Link site, after repeatedly dunning me for my actual bank card instead of answering questions about this theft, HAS BEEN DELETED! With extreme prejudice! DO NOT EVER USE LINK TO TRANSFER MONEY, not even fake lawsuit money. Equifax can't be trusted either - one of its workers set up the account and I must assume Equifax is working with Link to steal money from people it had already stolen from. Keep your money safe and never use Link. It only works at "rich people stores" anyway, and the money you put into Link gets STOLEN. I don't like thieves. Link is a thief. So is Equifax. Don't trust either when it comes to finances.

Without your knowledge, they open an account for you in order to store your payment details for a charitable donation, as was the case with me. They ask you to verify your email address, and that's it. However, I read their scribbles and noticed that a small manipulation allowed me to delete my ‘account’ that I never opened! In any case, it's done and I can sleep soundly. Be careful of these scams. After all, WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? Personally, it stinks!

Can't udpate my phone number without resetting my account -- so I just deleted my account

Barely average online wallet with no benefit at all.

I used Link for a year when it turned up at one of the websites where I renew my certifications.

However, I just deleted my Link account because after my phone number changed I found out that I would have to 'reset' my entire account and re-type all my info in from scratch just to update my phone number.

And their customer service is available only on chat, doesn't have a phone number I can ring, was pretty useless overall and patronizing, to top it off.

Figured I'd give Link a miss and so went ahead and deleted my account -- easy solution!

There never was a particular advantage to using Link, anyway. Good riddance.
