Service was very smooth. Agents were very informative and detailed. With this rental you don’t need IDP (international driving permit) as they recognize American Driving license. Great service!
We had the car for 13 days. Our experience was perfect. We've returned to Sicilia many times over the years and have had several bad experiences with other car rental companies. From now on we will only use Locauto. From the moment we were greeted by lovely Salvatore at the desk we knew we were getting great service. We were upgraded, the car was great, the instructions were clear and very importantly for Sicilia - there was no upselling pressure for extras. Returning the car was very easy and again the service was very good. The hardest part was finding the entry for returning the car. It may not be the cheapest but from our experience it is still the best value for money car rental in Catania

Great experience, high price.
We rented a car at the Catania Airport. The airport was closed due to smoke from Etna. Very few cars remained and we needed some way to get to the Rome-Fiumicino airport by the next day to return to the USA. Renting the car and returning it was very easy. The staff was attentive and took care of us in a mix of Italian, Spanish, and English. Unfortunately, the price was very high.

The most confusing part was finding the return location at Catania Airport. Locauto’s website says P4 , but the actual return point was slightly elsewhere, and the road signs were confusing. I suggest adding a precise Google Maps or Waze location to the website so customers can find it easily.

I had a good car for three days. Nothing to complain about except that I forgot to use QR Code to enter parking area.
That's my fault.
I would like to know if I could have left the car at Palermo airport instead of Catania as my flight was rescheduled to leave from Palermo due to volcanic ash.

While contract modifications can be authorized in exceptional cases, unfortunately, due to the operational disruptions and high demand caused by the Etna eruption, it was not possible to alter your drop-off location to Palermo on this occasion.

We were disappointed with the car…
We were disappointed with the car rental experience.
Firstly, we were expecting a Toyota Aygo, but were initially given a Fiat Panda instead. This was not the car we had booked, and the situation was not explained clearly.
Secondly, although we had already purchased insurance through Zest, the rental company told us that we needed to take out an additional insurance policy costing €86. When we asked why we needed to be insured twice, neither of the employees we spoke to was able to give us a clear explanation. We were simply told that we needed to pay as the insurance was not with them.
The lack of a clear explanation about the insurance was particularly concerning and left us feeling that we were being charged for something we had already covered.
Overall, the experience was frustrating, mainly because the information provided was unclear and the staff were unable to properly explain the additional charge.

Regarding the vehicle provided, all bookings are category-based rather than model-specific. The Fiat Panda belongs to a higher category than the requested Toyota Aygo, so our staff initially offered it as a complimentary upgrade. We are very sorry that this was not explained clearly at the desk and that the change was not to your liking.
Regarding insurance coverage, please note that when insurance or collision protection is purchased through a third-party broker (such as Zest), Locauto has no visibility into those external policies, as they represent a separate contract between the customer and the broker.
Our staff are required to inform customers of our direct coverage options and potential excess responsibilities; however, taking out our additional protection is always completely optional. We deeply regret that our team did not explain this distinction clearly to you.
We take your comments very seriously and are sharing your review with our station management to improve our staff's communication and ensure all information is provided in a clear and helpful manner.

Please make sure every car as A spare wheel, there is people still able to change a wheel on a car also to be more precise with the check of the car ie water in screen wash filled ,no rushing when checking damage ,there are my risen for low score, staff are very helpful just under pressure at peak times
