Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 459 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the service, citing issues with staff conduct and overall customer support. People frequently reported problems with pricing, including unexpected charges and fares that were much higher than initially quoted, leading to feelings of being overcharged. The customer service was often described as non-existent or unhelpful, with many struggling to get resolutions to their problems, encountering bots, or being disconnected. Reviewers also highlighted concerns with payment discrepancies, such as being charged twice for a single ride or for services not rendered, and difficulties in getting these issues rectified. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that some drivers were polite, friendly, and provided good service, even when there were language barriers. Some customers also mentioned that they had positive experiences with specific drivers who were helpful and professional, making their rides comfortable and safe.

My ride was confirmed ahead of time

My ride was confirmed ahead of time. A call confirming the ride was made 24 hours prior to the ride and was a nice and needed reminder. My driver sent a text introducing himself as Gerson and another when he was headed my way. I was able to track him in real time right to my doorstep. He was polite and handled himself quite well. He spoke little English but did not make me uncomfortable at any time. His driving was excellent. No sudden stops or starts. Nothing to make me I'll at ease. Garson was a perfect gentleman. Played nice, easy to listen to music. Car was clean, comfortable and smelled great. First time with Lyft was an amazing experience. 👏

Don't believe their App is secure

They advertise that their website is secure. Total lie. I downloaded the app and 24 hours later my credit card was compromised. When I called customer service, and I use the word 'service' loosely they couldn't care less. The idiot that answered said a manager would call back. Another lie. Use anyone other than these crooks.

Transferring your account? Good luck!

My phone was stolen. Transferring my account to a new device was a worse headache than my complex migraines. I had to navigate an AI--which around my part of the world stands for "Ain't Intelligent"--to get a human who was an even bigger pain! Log off and log back in, uninstall the app and reinstall it--neither one worked. I finally gave up on transferring my account and decided to recreate the Price Lock I already had (they were kind enough to offer a refund but 100 times that amount is not adequte compensation. And since there's no website support, you're screwed if something goes wrong. Trying to renew the Price Lock I had--and, remember, have been using for months until a punk stole my phone in broad daylight on a city bus with multiple security cameras--even that was almost impossible as the app would show that it was trying to make the connection. I'm on a limited income so I really need that guaranteed fare since every cent counts. And at one point following the human agent's instructions triggered a flag for a possible TOS violation. Great job, Lyft! You offer the worst possible support to a group of people with limited transportation options. You are the Wal-Mart of rideshare services.

This is in reference to Case number…240677224

This is in reference to Case number 240677224, driver Amanda. She picked up my friend, who is a blind Black woman, and refused to change the radio station to another station when my friend objected to the vile, violent content of the station Amanda was listening to. Rather then change the channel, Amanda PUT MY BLIND FRIEND OUT OF HER CAR some distance from her destination. Amanda should be fired. She has no business working with the public.

I do not be meaning to order through…

I do not be meaning to order through Lyft I rather Uber because Uber time is always accurate where Lyft will say 7 minutes and after you pay it's 15-20 minutes making me late all the time I would not recommend no one to order through Lyft if they want to be on time

OVERPRICED

OVERPRICED, TERRIBLE SERVICE....AND...if you cancel a ride 31 SECONDS after you request one....EVEN IF THEY HAVEN'T EVEN FOUND A DRIVER YET....they GOUGE you with a fee. That's like if you went to a restaurant and you give your order to the server and then you change your mind, BEFORE THEY EVEN LEAVE THE TABLE, the restaurant charges you a dollar!!!! Lyft really rips people off.

I ordered a regular Lyft and somehow…

I ordered a regular Lyft and somehow got transported into a moving FBI evidence locker 😭 There were photos EVERYWHERE. Not family photos either… just random terrifying images taped around the car like a conspiracy theory wall. One was a raccoon wearing glasses. One looked like a Victorian child staring directly into my soul. There was also a close-up of someone’s foot for absolutely no reason. I spent the whole ride trying not to make eye contact with the ceiling. Driver acted like this was completely normal which honestly made it scarier. At one point I genuinely wondered if I was being recruited into something. Still got me home safe though so shoutout to whatever haunted scrapbook experience that was.

They got my data from an Equifax data breach. Do not trust these people.

I’ve started to receive unsolicited marketing emails from these people.
I served them with a Subject Access Request on 8th April telling them that I believed they had obtained my data unlawfully and inviting them to provide my opt-in details. Lyft ignored my request and continued sending me their spam.
I sent Lyft a reminder on 10th May which has been ignored. I’ve contacted Free Now who are Lyft in the UK and still not had an explanation.
These people have no respect for your data or your privacy. I believe they obtained my data from an Equifax data hack. Be very careful.

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible.

We are in Las Vegas. Last night, May 14th 2026, we hired a Lyft driver to drive us less than 5 MI from Bellagio to the Golden steer steakhouse.

The driver, whose name is Paola, did not speak English so we were unable to communicate with her properly.

I followed the ride on my Google maps app. Paola missed the exit four times. She was finally driving us back to Bellagio when we demanded that she drop us off at the nearest corner so we could hire another ride. We were in this woman's car for an hour and we're late for our reservation at the golden steer for which we had waited 4 months.

To make matters worse, the Lyft app States that there is no possible way to dispute the charge or to make a complaint.

Our next move is to cancel the charge with our credit card.

Will we ever use Lyft again? Probably not.

I called a Lyft ride and a driver…

I called a Lyft ride and a driver initially accepted for $17.95 but a driver switch occurred without notifying me and I realized that I got charged $25.60 after I arrived home. I'm requesting the price difference of $7.65 to Lyft but it declined. Petty sneaky. I am not unhappy with the new driver but Lyft should have given me the option to accept the extra comfort car instead of the standard type that I initially picked.

I’m a business owner that has used Lyft…frustrated

I’m a business owner that has used Lyft transportation multiple times for approximately one year. I ran into frequent situations of massive aggravation with my credit card usage to provide service for my patients. I’m officially canceling my Lyft business account due to their software problems which resulted in my account being locked out. Massive frustration.

Scheduled Lyft to airport no-showed

I scheduled a Lyft to SFO with a 6 am pick up 5/9. At 5:55 am, I received a message: Driver will arrive in 13 minutes. At 6:15 the driver was still allegedly arriving in 13 minutes and not responding to my texts or calls. I had to call for a taxi and nearly missed my flight. When I tried to file a complaint, a chat agent said “sorry “ and offered a $50 Lyft credit. I want the taxi fare reimbursed.

Never use Lyft - Our drive was so nice and I would like…

Our drive was so nice and I would like him again. He packed our luggage at the Oakland Airport. When he unloaded at home he accidentally left our backpack in his car. When we realized what happened since the bag had important things of ours, it took us 30-60 minutes for them to reach him. He retired the bag but was charged $20 to do so. Today was my first and last day on Lyft.
