Slight delay in collection but this was due to DPD not MacBack. Once with them their quote was honoured and paid within 24hrs. Very good service and the motto is be honest about the condition of what you are selling and all will be fine. I would not hesitate to use them again

Got what was quoted, fast and easy pick up
Got a quote for my mum's old iMac and ultimately got what was quoted initially. Pickup and packaging was very smooth, don't think I have ever had such a fast pick up with safe packaging as well.
Some small suggestions to make the service even better:
- More notifications estimations on time between stages. After pick up it was quiet and I wasn't even sure if the computer got received. After contacting the support, I got fast confirmation that it was received in the queue to be assessed. I think better notifications or guidelines on time for each stage in the process would help people understand what to expect
- Offer the ability to give the money to charity at a higher evaluation amount. We ended up donating the money to a homeless shelter but it would be cool if it was integrated into the platform and incentivized to donate for a slightly higher evaluation on the computer.
Overall, good experience and would use them again if we need to donate more old Macs.

I had 2 MacBook Pros: one was a 2013 working perfectly apart from a broken retina screen, and another was a mid-2015 working but beginning to have problems due to system updates. On the website they offered £9 and £36, so I sent it to them. After they got it (the collection service really works well ) the revised offer was £3 and £9. Honestly, for me, it seems like they make an offer – already low, but ok since you're not using it anymore – and after they'll give you a few pounds, so you will accept it since they already have the devices. I'm refusing to be part of this "strategy", and I highly recommend you do the same or be prepared because they will offer 1/3 or 1/4 for the first quote!

For the 2013 MacBook Pro, the original quote was based on specifications entered online that did not match the device received. The quote was submitted as:
i5 2.8GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD
However, the device we received was actually:
i5 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD
That difference in specification alone had a significant impact on the valuation.
For the 2015 MacBook Pro, although it was initially quoted as a Grade D, our technicians found additional faults that required it to be regraded to Grade E, including:
High battery cycle count
Swollen battery (requiring immediate replacement)
Non-Apple power supply
Damaged keyboard
These issues go beyond normal cosmetic wear and materially affect both safety and resale value, which is why the offer was adjusted.
We want to be clear that we don’t operate any kind of “strategy” to reduce prices after collection. Quotes are always honoured when the model, specification, and condition match what was submitted online. When they don’t, we explain the reasons and give customers the choice to accept or decline. You were under no obligation to proceed.
As with all customers, if a revised quote isn’t accepted, the devices are returned free of charge, and we absorb all costs associated with shipping, testing, and handling.
We appreciate you acknowledging that the collection process worked well, and we’re sorry the final outcome wasn’t what you hoped for.

I sold my old Mac computer back for around £100 only to receive an email a few days later saying they would only pay £30. When queried, they said it was faulty but I disagreed as it was in perfect working condition dispute its age. I asked them to review, but they refused. I would be very apprehensive about this company as my senses indicated they tried to deceive me. Be careful please.

All trade-in quotes on our website are provisional, based on the information selected during the initial self-assessment. Once a device is received, it is professionally tested by our technicians to confirm its condition and functionality. If faults are identified that were not declared at the quoting stage, a revised valuation is issued strictly in line with our published grading criteria.
In this case, during inspection, a well-documented display fault common to older iMacs was identified, which significantly impacts resale value. This resulted in the device being graded accordingly and a revised offer being issued.
We would also like to be clear that valuations are never increased or adjusted in response to pressure, threats, or potential negative reviews. As stated in the customer’s own correspondence, they indicated that if a higher figure was not offered they would “spend the next three months adding negative 1-star reviews” and attempt to cause reputational harm.
While we always remain respectful and professional, we cannot — and do not — alter valuations under such circumstances. All customers are treated equally, using the same criteria and process.
Importantly, customers are never obligated to accept a revised quote. Where a valuation is declined, the device is returned free of charge, with all inspection, shipping, and handling costs covered by us. At no point is the customer financially disadvantaged for choosing not to proceed.
We understand how disappointing revised valuations can be, but we remain committed to fairness, transparency, and consistency for everyone who uses our service.

The revised valuation was not made arbitrarily. The original quote was submitted for a 2019 model, however the device we received was a 2015 iMac. That difference in model year was the sole reason for the reduction in value. When the correct model was assessed, you accepted the revised quote, and payment was made accordingly.
Regarding collection, the packaging and courier booking left us at the correct time for your chosen collection date. Unfortunately, once the box is handed to DPD, the delivery and collection process is outside of our direct control. In this case, DPD held the box at their Birmingham depot for one day, attempted collection the following day when there was no response at the door, and then successfully collected the device on their next attempt.
We fully understand courier delays are frustrating, but they are not something we can control once the booking has been handed over to the courier.
We always aim to be transparent, honour quotes when the details match, and process payments promptly once an offer is accepted — which was done in this instance.

Superb speedy service
Got quotes for my 2014 MacBook Pro from quite a few websites and Macback offered me by far the most money for it. The courier came exactly when they said they would and packaged it up securely in a zip-tied crate. A couple of days later I was notified my laptop had gone through testing and my money would be in my account the next day. It actually only took a few hours to appear.
Superb service all round. Wouldn't hesitate in using them again.
