Mailfence is an end to end encrypted email suite that boosts collaboration and convenience without compromising neither. You can encrypt symmetrically and asymmetrically with Mailfence via our platform the encryption is dead simple and with our Integrated keystore end to end encryption has never been easier. Finally, Mailfence donates to EFF and EDRI to bolster the fight for Online privacy.

I have attempted to sign up for this service on numerous occasions, but every time it gets all the way to the final stage of the registration (email verification), before stating "Registration failed. Contact support"
Based on my experience in IT, this is likely some nonsensical anti-bot algorythm whose behavior is generally as opaque as possible to make it intentionally difficult for people to sign up.
Needless to say I'm not at all interested in wasting my time waiting on some answer from customer support, which is probably going to be some nonsensical advice, such as "disable VPN" or something equally nonsensical (again, speaking from experience), which is why I will be going elsewhere instead.

I paid the entry subscription on mailfence on the 2/2/2022 and contacted support to notify them and its been almost 48 hours and they have refused to respond to any of my emails and have not upgraded my account. They have the worst customer support out there. If you can't upgrade my account then I will want my money refunded.

I have been a long-time premium user of ProtonMail and its desktop and IMAP functions have worked well. However, I have had issues with the Android app and neither tech support or the sub-Reddit have been able to help me out, so I went looking for an end to end encrypted alternative.
The shortlist consisted of mailbox.org, Posteo and Mailfence. Many years ago I worked on a project for the European Commission and as Mailfence was Belgium-based I asked a former colleague who lives in the country was the company and its service secure and reputable. Both came back affirmative, so I signed up for a year with the basic premium version.
I am not a huge fan of browser-based email systems. Also, spending more time away from the desktop, it was important to find a service that had bombproof IMAP and SMTP for Aqua Mail on my Android devices. Set up was simplicity itself, as was putting it on my desktop third-party email clients Postbox and Mailbird.
Mailfence also has a calendar and document storage area, although neither works on remote devices, this was not an issue for me.
What I found outstanding was due to operator error (me) I was locked out of my account due to a 2FA issue. I fired off an email to Mailfence support and after answering some pretty in-depth questions (top notch security) I was back up and running in around an hour. Unbeatable service.
This was a clincher and I have no problem in now spending time switching relevant services and website logins to Mailfence.

Works quite well until you need support.
Support response can be up to 3 weeks which is apparently ok?? And in fact they get quite angry when you suggest it isn't.
There is no App for android although they claim there is. I'm assuming this because after another 3 week delay, and angry responses insisting I don't understand or I'm doing it wrong, they still can't tell me how or where to download the app.
In fact they seen quite angry most of the time.
RESPONSE TO RESPONSE:
"Requests are never left unanswered". Not true!
The link you refer to doesn't work as your support team have already admitted to me in an email.
If you don't believe your support team are angry you need to follow up some of their work.

Great support!
Good product, not the best design, setting interface is not the most intuitive, but fine.
Great value for money!

Mailfence does not work as it should and support is not solving it (prompting this review). It is only okay and has lots of drawbacks.
1) There is no option for longer session times, meaning you have to sign in every 8 hours. If you use multiple computers AND work at home where security is not as much of an issue, this is very onerous. I requested at least daylong or weeklong sign-in sessions (meaning you don't have to sign in) since I am working from home, like so many now, and MF won't change their hardcore policy.
2) My Mailfence email, aliases and custom domain do not receive emails and do not work for signing up for basic email lists. Support has not solved this problem. Told me to whitelist the domains and it didn't work. So the service does not even fully work!
3) There is no option for a classic, standard layout like Hushmail or classic Gmail. I can't even see who is sending me emails unless I slide over one of the columns. I requested a classic layout, but NOPE, we cannot change what we are doing.
So, in the age where tech companies claim to be user-centric, Mailfence is rigid, and it does not even work all the time. When it does it is very fast, but that is all I can say about it.
And as for the Docs function, if you think you can create a document and work on it in MF, you can't. You can either upload one already created or download it. It's somewhat useful from time to time, for uploads, but I cannot work directly in a GoogleDocs style workspace, which is what I wanted.
When these private email services realize what people want and how they work now, then they will be a five-star review, if they work right. Until then, I'd have to say Mailfence lacks a lot of necessary functionality and I think I am just heading over to a new provider if I can't get their team to actually solve my issues. And I don't like their rigid inflexibility on key issues.

I joined Mailfence some years ago when I realized that if I am not paying for a product, I am (and all my private data) the product. I chose Mailfence because of the safety of the servers and also because it would support Exchange, which I need for full synchronisation across my devices. All of this works now like charm (initially there were bugs, which were solved as they appeared). The support team is fantastic!!!! They reply immediately with helpful advice and also hear to the users. For example, they added a feature (managed sync devices) after I (and probably other users) asked for it. I think as a principle that this is the sort of companies that work for the user and we should be supporting with our money and trust.

Recently signed with mailfence, and so far I must say that I'm very pleased. Everything working just fine, I've taken the free version but I'm considering going for the pro one since I need more storage.

After trying other companies specialized on crippled emails, Mailfence was the only once capable to import our hundreds of Folders and thousands of emails from Gmail. Great service and Company.

I just had the most heartwarming experience when setting up my new business email. I had forgotten an important detail in the registration and contacted Mailfence support who took care of it promptly. If you are looking for mastermind support to empower your business Mailfence is your partner.

Mailfence services were not suitable for my needs, I did not discover this until after I had paid for the service to unlock the full account features. Despite being refused a refund by their email support team, I was contacted in response to my original review and refunded.
My need was not for security, but for a simple email service with shared drive. Had I required their secure service, I am sure I would have been happy.
The trial/free account does not give you the ability to test all of the features of the higher accounts, the only way to access these features is to subscribe (adding credit for 6months).
The pro-account comes with an additional two free accounts... for absolute clarity - these are not accounts with the same features as the pro account - these are the most basic subscription so not very useful. They can only be used for webmail.
If you want to create a sales and support shared mailbox you have to buy a pro licence per mailbox.
So as an example:
sales at domain 7.50 - must be pro so you can share it.
user1 at domain - free (max 500mb mail)
user2 at domain - free (max 500mb mail)
Seems all good - but, the only account that you could login on your mobile to is the sales one not individual users!. So you'd need 2 additional entry licences or 3 pro licences to make the service usable... You're now at the price point of two MS365 accounts with inbuilt group capability and online microsoft app access!!

I have decided to walk away from Google and big tech services in general. My email is a critical think in my ecosystem of tools and services I use on a daily basis, therefore as part of my benchmark and research for good and reliable alternatives, I've found that Mailfence offers the best relation Features-Price-Reliability. The webmail offers everything I could need, the security standards and beliefs are quite strong, they are based in Belgium, not in The US / Australia / UK, the feature list is quite enough. And last but not least: the customer service / support is just awesome. Just like in the old times you can talk to actual human beings if you need anything and they are very nice by the way :)
I strongly suggest you to create an account and explore it by yourself and also pay attention to the security features and foundation that Mailfence has. Check out their blog and also please look for third party reviews.

Best provider ever. My account got hacked as well as backup email but even without being able to reset my password "traditional" way I still got it back. Awesome!

Having been concerned about big data for years, I finally decided that I wanted to move away from Google to a platform that respects my (and my company's) privacy. After doing a fair bit of research, Mailfence seemed the perfect platform to meet my needs, whilst not charging me a ridiculous fee.
I have only been with them for a few days, but I have been incredibly impressed so far. The creation of my account was extremely simple, and there are many advanced options available (routing, filtering, and so on) for those that need it. All of this for less than I was paying for GSuite, with many additional benefits.
Having accidentally purchased the wrong plan, I got in touch with Mailfence's support team, who responded to me within hours, and moved me over to the new plan, no questions asked! They were incredibly friendly and professional, and I was quite struck by the clear respect that they have for their customers, especially coming from a platform like GSuite.
I cannot recommend Mailfence highly enough! Thank you for your amazing product and support team.

recently I migrated from my usual account from a certain provider and decided to go with a Mailfence account.
It helped me transfer my stuff (even my calendar) from "x" to mailfence really easily. Highly recommend!
