Well, I cannot comment on the quality or usefulness of this product as I had to refuse delivery. Makers Cabinet uses UPS for delivery who charges extortionist brokerage fees which I refuse to pay. I am not going to pay almost 50% of the cost of this item in brokerage fees when all other delivery options to Canada charge only a nominal fee. I have contacted Makers Cabinet with my concerns and have yet to hear back, so I guess their customer service isn’t as good as their products have been reported to be. Not happy

I was bought one by my son for Xmas. It arrived with a non-functioning cartridge. Ok Schmidt’s fault, not MC’s but when I raised a complaint on their website I got an acknowledgment but no response.

A calendar month later, the magnetic clutch is not working! The clip is loose.

I’m particularly annoyed as I took this as my EDC on holiday because it is great pen even if I had to get my own replacement cartridge.

For a pen that is meant to last, one that stops working after a month is very disappointing.

I have contacted MC again and expect a replacement process once I am back in the UK, as I am not happy with this pen. Other MC products I have , the Hovel and Ferrule are really good.

Stunning addition to my collection of Makers Cabinet goodies!

I own the Lazlo (pen) and the drop holder, as well as the Ferrule (pencil). The Lazlo is by far my favorite pen (I'm quite a pen addict). The brass ages beautifully with use and the mechanism is smooth with an extremely satisfying "click". As an artist and former designer I'm never without a pencil and Maker's clever design allows me to carry my pencil without worrying about breaking the tip or marking my clothes (a former and very frequent annoyance). Best of all--the weight. Not too heavy, not too light. Any questions I've had have been answered promptly and my orders arrive here in the States quickly. Truly, Maker's Cabinet products are first rate!

My iris broke and became nonfunctional 17 months after I received it. This happened with extremely light use…embarrassingly light…. Maybe 5 uses. Also, it should be noted that this breakage occurred while the iris was in the leather sheath. When I shared this information and photos of the breakage with the company, they offered to: A) send me instructions for how to fix it myself or B) send it in for them to “fix” it. For the price of the device and the tiny amount of use it took to break, I believe it should be replaced. I find it to be very bad policy to first offer me instructions to fix it myself. I’m embarrassed I purchased the items I did from this company.

Can't say enough good stuff about makers cabinet. They go above and beyond with customer service and their products are top of the line.
