As a retiree I pay huge amount each month out of my savings. My doctor tells me all men my age should have a routine colonoscopy and gastroscopy as a precaution. I have no problems and no symptoms. Yet I still had to pay a $500 gap. I spoke to a friend who didn’t have private coverage and he said he didn’t have to pay anything. I’m disgusted.

No out-of-pocket, fee, the process was easy and made the procedure more comfortable not worrying about having a bill after.

Arriving at the surgery, the claim was not accepted and it looked like I did not pay my instalment, although it had been direct debit (monthly setup) a couple of days earlier. The surgery was almost cancelled because of it unless I was willing to pay the full amount.

I telephoned Medibank Private to ask some questions about my upcoming surgery for 10th June '26. Unfortunately I had to wait for 45 minutes to speak to someone and even though the person was very polite I had absolutely NO luck finding answers to any of my questions & was quite annoyed, so I went into your Rockingham Branch on (approx) 2nd June and spoke to a very nice and very helpful lady there who answered all the questions I asked her, I was very impressed with her service. Through her help I once again have my trust back into Medibank.

Worst experience of my life.
Its super easy to take a health policy from medibank but when i try to cancel it they just asked me so many silly questions and asked many forms to fill and even asked me to visit their store which is way too far from my house
Really disgusting customer service.
I never recommend this business to anyone.

I don’t understand why I need to pay to be seen by a doctor in emergency and then for tests (bloods etc) when in emergency prior to being admitted. Shouldn’t this be covered in my policy?

Fairly seamless experience with Medibank for recent hospital admission. All staff interacted with were helpful and informative.

Very easy to deal with. Each time I called the team were able to help me and provide all the information I needed. Everything then happened for the claim behind the scenes I hardly got involved. It was a stressful time for me being my first surgery, but it was very easy as everything got sorted for me! Even had extra calls made to me from a team ensuring I was prepared for my hospital stay and surgery! I was informed of other services, post surgery, to look into to see if I was eligible for, which I was not aware of. Overall very happy with the whole experience. Very grateful for everyone that assisted in the process. Thank you.
