Mersey Rod - Drain Unblocking, Surveying and Repairs Reviews 

Staff fantastic from the word go, Becky in the office and both men who came out. We had an issue in December that the guy sorted and informed me of the point of the true issue. He was spot in and uncovering an old manhole in January, Andy came out and worked hard to clear the blockage. He has diagnosed tree roots from a roadside tree near our home.

Fantastic service from Justin who arrived promptly, was professional, informative and a really nice bloke. Blocked drain cleared quickly, carefully and cleanly. A great job! Would definitely recommend this company- 5 stars!

I contacted Mersey rod after I had sewage all over my back garden I spoke to Becky who was very polite and professional and told me they would send an engineer out the same day 2 hours after my first call Justin call me to say he would be with me in the next 30 minutes

He turned up and got straight onto the job in hand was very polite and knowledgeable and kept me informed on what was happening he cleared the drain and cleaned up all the mess got me to do some flush tests and then wanted to
Put a camera down to see if there was any issues witch I’m glad he did as he discovered that there was badly damage and missing pipe and told me it would need to be dug up and replaced as it will block up again

Next morning he called me after speaking to the repair team to give me a price for the repair work and gave me a date witch suited me the best

Jack and the repair lads came out also very polite and friendly kept me informed on what they was doing they dug down to the pipe replaced and put everything back like they wasn’t even there

Jem arrived 10 minutes earlier than promised, he remained polite and courteous throughout the work. My blocked drain was jetted and cleared completely, with the area around the drain left clean and tidy. Jem stuck to the quoted price and was very knowledgeable and efficient, he even provided a 6 month gaurantee!!!!! My wife and I were delighted with the service provided by Mersey Rod, we would definitely recommend their service and would use again without hesitation.

I would like to share my terrifying experience with Mersey Rod.

I contacted the company because I had an issue with the drainage on my property. They came and performed a camera inspection for £170. They informed me that the pipe under ground was snapped and needed to be replaced. Providing a quote of £1500. David, the man conducting the camera test, mentioned they could do it cheaper for a lower price and advised me to contact him directly on his mobile instead of calling the office.

We agreed on a price of £1000. A few days later they arrived to do the job and began digging. A few hours latter, they called me to come over, stating there is a problem. When I arrived, they informed me that the issue was caused by a pipe extending beyond my property line, requiring me to contact United Utilities to resolve it before they could continue. They also demanded £400 in cash for today`s job, which I have paid. I was not pleased about paying before the job is done.

I contacted United Utilities, who visited the property and confirmed that there was no pipe as described by Mersey Rod. I spoke with Jack, the Mersey Rod employee in charge of the excavation and informed him about United Utilities findings. Despite this, he insisted the pipe was there. I contacted United Utilities again, requesting another search for the pipe. Upon their return, they once again confirmed the absence of the pipe and deemed the excavation by Mersey Rod unsafe and in need of immediate attention.

I spoke with Jack again, relaying United Utilities feedback. When we met again at the property he suggested connecting my drainage to the neighbour`s, which would significantly increase the cost beyond our original agreement. Shortly after I received a new quote from Mersey Rod for £4500!!!

I contacted two other drainage companies, both which were unable to locate the pipe where my drainage had previously been connected. If became clear that Mersey Rod had broken and buried the pipe to extort more money from me.

As a result, my tenants were unable to use water for a week, and I had to hire another company to rectify the mess created by Mersey Rod. I ended up paying an additional £3100 to the new company, as they had to connect my drainage to my neighbour`s pipe. When they saw the excavation, they were shocked and questioned what Mersey Rod had done and why.

I had been deceived by Mersey Rod`s Google reviews. It appears their online feedback cannot be trusted at all.

Let me explain how Mersey Rod went above and beyond with United Utilities communication.

When they came for a second time to my property, I gave them Jack's mobile number so they could contact him if any issues arose. Jack was also aware of this. I received a call from a United Utilities engineer explaining that he couldn't find any pipe and had tried to contact Jack, but as soon as he mentioned he was calling from United Utilities, Jack hung up the phone. I informed the engineer that I would call Jack and get back to him. I tried several times to phone Jack, but he did not answer the phone. I also sent a few messages, but I was ignored.

That is how you went above and beyond... Shame on you people!

We had a blocked outside drain on a Saturday morning. Contacted Merseyrod and they were out within 2 hours. Didn't catch his name but the man who came out was fantastic and cleaned up afterwards. Would thoroughly recommend them.

Was let down by national company, so telephoned Mersey Rod. No reply but Becky immediately returned my call and gave a price. Booked for 11am following day. Dave rang in morning at 9.30 saying he could make it earlier if convenient. Time agreed. He even bothered to call a few mins later to say he needed to stop for fuel so he'd be with us 10 mins later than agreed. Arrived and listened to our problem before explaining what he would do. He also volunteered that if he could solve it without using the rods the price would be cheaper. Got on with the job, thoroughly, professionally and also checked out 2 other of our toilets. Sorted the problem, gave sound advice and reduced the cost. Honest, reliable and professional tradesman. We would definitely use Dave again and would have no hesitation in recommending him. Communication was excellent from start to finish. I booked for unblocking a drain. Andy rang to let me know when he’d arrive. Everything was done and cleared within half an hour and he explained everything he’d done. I was very impressed with everything from start to finish and I would definitely recommend Mersey Rod

Becky was very pleasant and easy to talk to, she arranged the survey very quickly. On the day the engineer, Andy, rang me to let me know when he was on his way which was within the agreed time frame. He was very efficient on site, showed on screen and clearly explained the defects to assist with a decision regarding a house purchase. The report was sent to me 4 working days later together with a quote for repairs. A very professional service.

I had a same day repair with a next day camera diagnosis .The guys were quick and professional.
All prices were agreed upfront.
Andy even obliged me with different options.

This service is absolutely amazing, I cant thank them enough, I honestly mean that sincerly.

They came out late Thursday after an emergency call then came back again early morning, Justin kept me completely informed on when he was calling and rang me to tell me how long he would be, he constantly gave me the updates of his progress which is stress relieving.

He was polite curtious, professional and do not rip you off.

He found it was a blockage from seemingly a joint neighbours drains and informed me I needed to contact united utilities to check the main drains.
He is also sending me a report to contact the united utilities to enable them to come out and check the drains.
They charge £220 and if they cant fix it they only keep £30!

Nothing appears to much trouble which helps alleviate with the stress of the situation.
I dont think they would not fix it because they are so thorough and not fazed by the situation.

What an amazing service, I have already told everyone how amazing this company is.

The operative, Justin, arrived within the given time slot. He was pleasant and worked efficiently to clear the drain. He ran a camera check and gave me his opinion what had caused the back-up/blockage which should enable me to prevent further occurrences. Once finished he cleaned the working area.
