This course has truly been the best one I've taken so far for meta-analysis. It provides a clear and detailed explanation of each step, backed by a supportive internal system that makes sure you get thorough understanding and help whenever needed.

I first learned about the Meta-Analysis Academy through a YouTube/Instagram ad while I was completing my international bariatric surgery fellowship in 2025. What caught my attention wasn't just the promises, but the actual track record: medical students and consultants alike publishing in high-impact journals after going through the program. That kind of credibility made me pause, and I decided to join Batch VIII.

Many participants enroll to boost their residency applications in the US, and that makes complete sense. But my goal was a bit different. I already had about 10 publications under my belt, mostly cohort studies and some case reports. What I lacked was a solid understanding of systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Honestly, I used to think that kind of work was only for statisticians or dedicated epidemiologists. I never imagined it was something a clinician like me could learn to do well.

The Academy changed that perspective completely. The course starts from the very basics and builds up in a way that feels manageable even if you have no prior experience. The online modules are self-paced, and the weekly live sessions keep you on track. What I appreciated most were the tutoring sessions after each class. You could ask specific questions about your own paper, even if you were already moving ahead with your project. That kind of support made a real difference.

As a consultant now practicing full-time in Cebu, Philippines, I can honestly say this course changed how I view research altogether. I learned how to assess risk of bias, interpret funnel plots, apply GRADE, and generate forest plots. I became comfortable using tools like RevMan Web, JASP, RAYYAN, plot digitizers, and various AI-assisted platforms. More importantly, I now know which statistical tests to use and why. That knowledge alone has been incredibly empowering.

After finishing the academy, I completed two meta-analysis papers. Both are currently under peer review in reputable journals. One unexpected highlight was receiving a $2,500 scholarship to present at the IFSO 2026 conference in Toronto for my meta-analysis papers. I believe I am the first from Cebu, and possibly the first from the Philippines, to receive this award. Beyond that, the Academy opened doors for collaboration. I was invited by a group of students from Pakistan to serve as their senior author, and I currently have about four more projects in the pipeline. Generating research ideas no longer feels like a struggle; it feels like a natural next step.

The tuition was also reasonable. I paid in installments, which made it easier to manage, and I still have access to past recordings whenever I need to refresh my memory on certain topics.

Would I recommend this to others? Absolutely, without hesitation. Whether you are a student trying to build your CV or a consultant looking to sharpen your research skills, this program delivers real, practical value.

The environment is so empowering and collaborative that I eventually stepped into a role as a Teaching Assistant and Metahub Co-ordinator to help mentor other young international researchers. If you are a medical student, resident, or physician looking to master evidence-based methodology and make a real impact in the scientific community, I cannot recommend the Meta-Analysis Academy enough. It is a brilliant investment in your future.

MA academy was a great guide on how to work with MA. The program is done step by step, each concept explained in the right moment. I really enjoyed it, and achieved a great result, having my abstrac been approved at ESC cardio oncology conference. The exercises and live classes help us with the practical part.

I joined the meta-analysis academy last year, and I could not believe how much I learned in just 10 weeks. Since last year I have published 8 meta-analyses, numerous systematic reviews and other articles - yes the skills I learnt in the meta-analysis academy further facilitated the learning to conduct original articles, database articles, and other types of studies I never had heard off before. Outside publications, I've had over 10 abstract presentations accepted at major plastic surgery and ENT conferences in the US. I also had the privilege to meet esteemed mentors from the experts program, conduct projects with leading mentors in the field and connect with other students too.

I recently completed the Meta-Analysis Course VIII offered by the Meta-Analysis Academy. After finishing the program, I conducted my first systematic review and meta-analysis in cardiology and successfully submitted it to a journal.

This experience became an important milestone in my academic journey. The course not only helped me develop practical research skills but also played a significant role in my admission to the Master of Science in Clinical Research program at Harvard.

This master’s program is designed to train researchers who can contribute to clinical guideline development, where systematic reviews and meta-analyses play a central role. For this reason, these methodologies are also taught as part of the Harvard Clinical Research curriculum.

Having already gained foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in systematic reviews and meta-analysis through this course, I believe I am better prepared for the academic challenges ahead. This training will undoubtedly make my studies at Harvard more manageable and allow me to engage more confidently with the program content.

I first heard about the Meta-Analysis Academy announcement in 2023. At that time, I was a third-year internal medicine resident with zero publications and no idea how to conduct research. I never imagined I’d be a first author on any paper, but from the moment I decided to enroll in the intensive course, I haven’t had a single regret. Now, three years later, I have authored five publications, three of them as first author, and delivered four oral presentations at international congresses in hematology, cardiology, and internal medicine. Most importantly, I’ve earned the respect of my colleagues and gained a deep, practical understanding of how to conduct a research. It has been an incredible journey, and it continues to advance my medical career.

Throughout the learning process and extensive study within the MetaAnalysis Academy, I encountered opportunities that previously seemed distant. I was able to improve my basic research skills from the very first day of class, reaching a technical level that led me to publish abstracts at the largest orthopedic congress in the country, receiving the award for best academic abstract, as well as publishing an article in the European Hip Society journal and another in the European Journal of Hematology, alongside colleagues who also worked hard throughout the course and leading experts in the fields of orthopedics and hematology. I joined the Meta-Analysis Academy at a time when I truly wanted to take my research to the next level. I had been involved in studies before, but I felt I needed a clearer structure and deeper understanding of how to conduct and present high-quality meta-analyses. This course turned out to be a turning point for me.

What I appreciated most was how practical and organized the training was. Beyond the numbers, the biggest change has been confidence. I now approach research with clarity and structure, and I feel much more comfortable responding to peer reviewers and refining my work. The Academy didn’t just improve my productivity, it helped me think like a methodologist.

For clinicians and physician-researchers who want to grow academically but feel overwhelmed by the complexity of meta-analysis, I genuinely believe this course is worth it.
