50% Price Increases, NO THANKS !!!?

Have been an Xbox game pass subscriber for some years, now Microsoft have informed me that my subscription cost is going up by 50%, yet in some European countries the increase only applies to new customers but us in the UK appear to have been unfairly kicked in the teeth.
What a way to reward loyal customers, I think not !!!
I have cancelled my subscription before the price increase and have also deleted my account.
I have sold my Xbox and am using my PS5 console and Sony subscription for console gaming and my steam account for PC gaming.

Denying users their legal right to have their accounts unlocked and Data Returned - clear breaches of UK GDPR LAWS

Like many other reviewers here I have had not only my one drive account locked but also my primary e-mail since 28th June 2025.

All appeals and self help links loop you back and request you to log in - to your locked account!

MS Support is a total joke and NEVER RESPOND.

Imagine someone locking you out of your own home or car without warning with no chance of getting access again? This is what MS do with their own customers data to hundreds maybe thousands of people DAILY globally.

I have contacted the UK Government Regulator the ICO to report DATA THEFT by Microsoft, and am now in contact with MS CDOC Case Management who again repeated the same self help steps THAT DON'T WORK. I have raised a Privacy complaint having failed to make any progress through other channels and have requested all my data returned.

Let's see if this regulator has any bite!

They have 30 days to return my access and all my data UNDER LAW.

This company needs HUGES FINES OR THE THREAT OF SHUTTING DOWN for daily breaches of UK & EU GDPR Laws, failure to support their products and Customers, for denying the rightful owners of their own data access for prolonged periods causing distress, loss, company failures and probably suicide in some cases.

This company behaves like the corporate monster that it appears to be and until I get my data back in full and within 30 days I will continue to believe that by their inactions, arrogance and contempt shown.

Other MS users should stop using Onedrive immediately as you will be denied access for months to your own data. The same applies for Outlook mail.

Using the guise of "protecting customer's privacy" to effectively deny them access to their own data seems only to protect Microsoft and deny their own paying Customers LEGAL PROTECTIONS within the UK & EU. There appear to be fewer protections in the US (?)

The UK Government needs to investigate this company immediately as it wrecks lives daily. If a class action exists I will add my name to it willingly.

18/10/25 Microsoft CDOC have finally reviewed the account and have refused to unlock the account, having already removed suspicious files, and have so far failed to return all my data encrypted by Microsoft. This is a clear violation of GDPR laws, as I own the data. I have contacted the ICO and followed a link to raise this with MS CDOC, however MS are demanding I identify myself as the customer. They had NO PROBLEM taking my money annually so can easily verify who I am.

DOES THIS COMPANY DELIGHT IN RUINING PEOPLE'S LIVES? I FEEL SUICIDAL AT THE POTENTIAL LOSS OF IRREPLACABLE MATERIALS ENTRUSTED TO MS ON THEIR ONEDRIVE PLATFORM. GIVE ME BACK MY DATA YOU THEIVES!

Why so greedy for the game pass…

Why so greedy for the game pass increase to 30$? You do know your competitor PlayStation is going to get the people that can't pay this every month.Over there, there are no sudden price hikes. Shame on you and you will learn your lesson in due time. From most profitable to biggest loser on the planet.

No support

No support. Have now turned off my auto renewal so I won’t be charged again without knowing again next year as no reminders sent. Have had my account blocked as wrong password entered too many times. No telephone support. Online support sends me in a loop. Try to reset password but asks for your password to do this? Hello? Can’t access my account and no help? No UK contact number anymore, why? Won’t be renewing.

Office Professional 2021 - No Longer Opening!

I purchased Microsoft Office Professional 2021 recently on the 27 July 2025, less than 1 month ago. I had to register this with Microsoft to obtain the activation codes which took some doing. The software has worked satisfactory for less than 3 weeks. Then yesterday it would no longer open. Instead an error code is activated 0x426-0x0. I have been online and it suggests I need to undertake a repair to my software. I am really disappointed with this Microsoft software.

"we got your money now sod off"

I paid full price for Windows. What I got was a bloated system that resists user control, forces telemetry, and reverses my configurations every time it updates. Defender behaves like spyware. Even feedback features exist only to gather more data.
Microsoft’s message is clear: We got your money—now sod off.
And here’s the kicker—unless I become a loyal subject, sign in, sync my data, and submit to the ecosystem, I can’t even submit feedback. The process is designed to block dissent unless you’re already kneeling at the altar.
I live in England. That means I get region-locked features, later updates, and a watered-down experience compared to users in other countries. Same price, lesser product. That’s not global service—it’s digital discrimination.
My next system won’t touch Microsoft. You abandoned transparency, autonomy, and user respect. I’m taking mine back.
Disdainfully,
Ken

7 Days Without Resolution – Shocking Support from Microsoft

I’m a small business owner, and Microsoft’s support has been nothing short of appalling.

Over the past 7 days, I’ve been passed between multiple helpdesk agents, each telling me to raise yet another ticket with yet another team. No one takes ownership, and no progress is made. The situation remains unresolved and is directly affecting my business operations.

I’ve asked repeatedly to escalate the issue. Still, no manager has contacted me, despite requesting urgent contact before 17:00 UK time. The process is disjointed, dismissive, and completely unfit for purpose—especially for business users who rely on Microsoft’s services.

Microsoft, your systems have failed me. But worse than that, your support structure is broken. This has caused stress, lost productivity, and damage to my trust in your brand.

If you’re a small business considering Microsoft—think twice.

Had to migrate to Teams from Skype

Had to migrate to Teams from Skype. I did this about a month before the deadline and achieved a teams account with my chat history and contacts transferred. All good......... now about 6-8 weeks later I've just signed in to check on a contact. Well there's nothing, no chat history or contacts, everything gone. Wtf, can these halfwits do anything correctly, I reckon not unfortunately. It's sad to think their developers get paid good salaries to produce non-functional, bug ridden code and we end off suffering the consequences of their lack of testing etc. Oh I should have sussed that we are the test dept! :-)

Took ages for Micosoft to reload my old version of Office that cost a small fortune years ago, just completed an update and Office no longer works (it wont load), Ive uninstalled the update and it all works again. I GIVE UP. Microsoft can only see £ & $ signs these days. If they think Im prepared to buy 365 they can think again.

No Customer Service when Hardware deliveries go wrong

I ordered a couple of adaptive joysticks from the Microsoft UK store.
After several days I tried to get help, as UPS were reporting delayed due to missing documentation.

It was then I discovered that Microsoft has NO customer service.

All there is are automated “Manage your order” options - eg get a refund.

There is no way to contact an actual human to actually get the product that they took the money for. All there is is a search, which throws up links to their forums and people reporting missing packages and no customer service to contact. At least my parcel was only £50. I’d certainly never consider direct Microsoft sales for anything more expensive in case anything went wrong during the shipping stage.

My parcel is now on its way back to sender. So will just have to wait for it to arrive back and refund to be processed, and then start the whole thing again.

Really sorry that the Adaptive Joysticks are a store exclusive, as these guys are corporate imbeciles. I have a horrible suspicion - since the problem is their inability to deal with the paperwork required for NI sales - that I’ll be back on in a years time having done this 12 times by then, as there’s no way to actually let them know their fulfillment partners are useless

EDIT
Things have just turned a whole lot worse. It’s now being listed on the Microsoft site as Delivered - even though it’s been delivered to THEM not ME!
So it’s looking like the only way I’ll ever get my money back is to take them to small claims court.

Despicable customer support

Despicable, disgusting organisation. No working Office version of Excel for over two years, it's impacted my time and (without wishing to jump any bandwagon), my mental health. They even told the rep who was replying to stop communicating to us!

Microsoft have deteriorated as a company

Having used Microsoft products for most of my life at work and at home (now in my 60s) they have deteriorated as a company in my eyes. Forcing me to have CoPilot so I had to cancel Office 365 this week, removing the function to export data from Outlook to another non-Microsoft app (keep saying they are bringing it back, but it's been years), no longer supporting some of their products I use e.g. virtual VPN for security. It has driven me towards using non-Microsoft freeware products instead.
