to Microsoft is a disgusting organisation. We have been hanging on phone for past 7 days just to change the verification code as the number they send to is dead now. So only microsoft can do it, but no staff can help no engineer calls back, they send you round in rings from one department to another. They are a disgusting company who dont know what customer care is and infact they dont even care!! They are nasty because they have the market monopoly. Hopefully not for long as people are disgusted by them!!!
Skype for business is a pest to remove
Skype for business is a pest to remove. Microsoft has informed that after 2021 skype for business would be gone and now we are in 2021?
NO!
2023 and the annoying skype for business still is installed by microsoft and it takes several reboots to get it out of windows 10.
2 stars because it maybe is gone after a lot of work. If it reinstall with next security update I will remove one of the stars.
Wonder how much Microsoft earn from filling an operation system with bloat that is from close to impossible to remove to making Windows stop functioning. Bing is even worse than Skype for business.

Bought a New HP laptop at Currys with Windows 11. I cannot get out of s-mode restricting my APPS only to Microsoft. It won't let you download Google Chrome. Waste of time and money and microsoft bombard you with trashy ads.
Excellent Customer Service
Ordered a laptop a couple weeks back and paid additional for express delivery as I needed the laptop ASAP, however the laptop came two days late. I'm sure this was no fault of Microsofts, most likely UPS at fault as I have never had a straightforward process with them as the courier in my life. However UPS refused to refund the payment for express delivery and sent me to logistics, after a while of back and forth I went to Microsoft and they refunded me straight away and also helped me out with a couple of other things over the phone. The team was great and such good customer service is rare nowadays. 5/5 without hesitation, great experience with them.
Why does MICROSOFT employ CRETINOUS MORONS?
I am sick to death of some imbecile at Microsoft deciding that they know better than I do how to organise MY computer using MY software. Do Microsoft specifically look for morons or do they have their own special training programme? They have consistently managed to screw up every OS they have produced and in the process screwed their CUSTOMERS too. The software I use is mine - bought and paid for! I ought to be allowed the courtesy of deciding which parts I want to use and which parts are surplus to requirements. Instead, devious and underhanded Microsoft are solely interested in pushing their spyware (Edge, Outlook, Office etc) and making life as awkward as possible for those of us who neither want nor need it. How about thinking of your customers for a change Microsoft?
Microsoft's authentication system is UNUSABLE
Microsoft's authentication system is almost unusable. Today, I tried for several hours to log in to one of my accounts, whilst being sent in circles over and over again, eventually giving up. It told me to enter a code that was sent to my email - nothing was sent. I clicked "Resend code" - nothing happened. After clicking it several times, it refused to send more. 2 days go by, and I receive a stream of emails all containing the codes I requested 2 days ago.
The reliability in the authentication system is so bad that I've had to schedule time just to be able to login. This is a major issue which needs addressing.
The cost of pestering to microsoft
I was considering changing my default browser to edge, but because of their pestering me to do so (from popups upon opening 'outlook' to their badgering tactics when I open 'Chrome'), I will now NEVER change to 'edge' - EVER.

Inability to remember it's own database correctly and asking for information it already knows many times is both stupid programming and a very boring waste of time .

Anderson and Daniel went out of their way to be helpful.
I feel embarrassed saying this. I had expected microsoft support to be rubbish. 365 seemed to be demanding that I pay for a service I did not want and I asked Support to stop it. It took a while, and I still have the stupid invitations twice every time I open hotmail, but these two gentlemen were unfailingly polite, when I wasn't quite as polite as them, and insistent on solving my problem. Passing over the program that keeps pushing 365 in my face, those two in Support were Supportive. What you would want Support to be.
Microsoft Warranty is shocking
Microsoft Warranty is shocking. Surface 4 laptop £1400 8 months old. All working fine until I selected 'update and restart' after the update, the laptop would no longer restart. I sent it away for Microsoft warranty, however they have returned it faulty claiming that this is due to liquid damage. They did not send any photos or report, just returned the faulty laptop. I have no knowledge of any liquid damage and it was working fine before I selected 'update and restart' Microsoft did not offer any repair service for me to pay, only a link to start a whole new process. Having been a loyal Microsoft customer for many years, this is my first experience of Microsoft warranty. I will never buy any Microsoft products again as the warranty is pointless. I am sure that Microsoft can see that my laptop was working fine before the update, saving documents on office 365, but they probably choose not to look at that.
Ethics & Compliance? Not Microsoft.
Pretty disgusted with Microsoft. An advertisement on the front page of their News app for a financial services company called ROIFX looked interesting so I clicked and passed on my contact details. I have since learnt that ROIFX is a scamming company simply trying to steal money from innocent people. Luckily all they have is my contact details - now I just get harassed by phone calls from a different number every time.
I wrote to Microsoft using their corporate ethics and compliance hotline email address. It seems to me such a large company has a big role to play in protecting consumers from scams/theft and should be checking who they take money from to advertise. Microsoft’s ethics department simply sent the complaint to their consumer business as a helpdesk support ticket. Consumer helpdesk then said it was nothing to do with them as Bing (search engine) is not Microsoft but a separate business in Microsoft. They then closed the case 6 minutes later.
Microsoft is the corporate, Bing is part of Microsoft. That they choose to allow scammers to pay them to advertise and then take no ownership, tells you everything you need to know about their actual approach to ethics and compliance - they could not care less.
Truly disgraceful that Microsoft enables theft through scam companies by taking their money for paid adverts. Truly disgraceful that they think this is ok when it is raised with them. Hugely disappointing that such a big company is completely unethical. When you look at how much money is stolen from innocent people in scams each year (and increasing) and realise that Microsoft is enabling this, it is truly shocking.
Unbelievable
Unbelievable, first I received a refurbished Surface Book 3 RTX 3000 1 TB tied to a company`s account, sent to the service centre, they were unable to reset it, provided a Surface Laptop Studio RTX 2000 2TB coming from Netherlands, guess what. Also locked to the exact same company's account. 2 weeks and I`m still without a laptop to use and no solution. Tried reinstalling Windows didn`t work, tried Data Eraser didn`t work. Apparently Microsoft is sending to customers, devices without resetting them. As this devices came from a Forensics Company, there could be data breech and a massive lawsuit against Microsoft. I believe I`ll have to get in contact with this Company and we`ll see Microsoft in court.
would give microsoft less than zero…
would give microsoft less than zero stars if i could. besides the OS being sub par compared to every version of linux.. they constrict anything and everything you can say on all their platforms from news to social aspects.. if it does not conform to the narrative of a microsft partner (which goverments can be in their social bubble) then you are not allowed to speak against it.. this is nazism first and foremost. second it is just genuinely not right for any kind of socio environment. microsoft are only the beginning. take a stand now or forever hold your peace against a fascist and completely disregarding attitude towards free speech.
Terrible services unable to contact…
Terrible services unable to contact them they have been taking money out of my account for months which I didn't sing up for I don't even have an xbox could only get through to a robot who said contact my bank do not use this service SCAMMERS AVOID
No support Microsoft
My husband was hacked a few days ago. Tried to reset his password but Microsoft never sent verification link. Instead they've frozen his account, deleted his password, he can't send or receive emails, has lost his contacts, can't sign in to any MS apps, including One Drive where most of his documents are now stuck. He can't get on with important work and other people are affected, including his church where he is Session Clerk. His 365 subscription is up to date. It's worse than ransomware, as Microsoft won't respond properly, it's impossible to contact them. No wonder they're all so rich there; they take people's money and then lock them out of thgeir accounts and make it virtually impossible to recover the account when you can't sign in anywhere to access information demanded. Their customer service is non-existent. You can't even make a complaint as they've stopped answering calls and done away with live agent support. i wouldn't give them even one star, more like minus.
Why are MS able to get away with such…
Why are MS able to get away with such poor and shoddy service. I have had a couple of issues, and I told myself I wouldn't purchase anything from them again, but that is hard as I am an avid XBOX gamer (read impossible).
Incident 1 - 49.99 charged for a "free" game. Apparently it was my faut even though as no point did I confirm a paid purchase. Furthermore, and this is where I cannot get them to understand, the charge came when I clicked install. The notification of a charge popped on my phone so I immediately cancelled the install and contact MS. Refused to refund the money, even though they acknowledged it was a free game offer that I clicked on.
Incident 2. Bought a game, realised I had the wrong version, bought the correct version and requested a refund. Refused because I have played the game - but of course, if they had taken more than a cursory look and read the reason for the refund they would see that yes of course I had played the game - but I don't need 2 copies of it. Refund rules said they will refund for games with limited playtime. Reason for refusal of refund "you have played the game."
Just a little bit of care and attention to the request and it would probably had a different outcome. There is no way to engage anyone and have them properly read the issue.
Why are they so poor?
Unprofessional and unethical
Unprofessional and unethical. I don't get how people who run microsoft sleep at night. There's absolutely no customer support whatsoever well unless you count the incompetent robot @Outlook on twitter there is literally no way of getting any help. Any opportunity in the slightest that I have to spread through word of mouth or any other way about how disgusting & appalling Microsoft is I will certainly be doing so. The amount of money that they have yet they don't even have basic customer support?!! It says ALOT!
With that being said i sincerely hope this company chokes & suffocates on it's own greed.
Appalling Customer Service is a Breach of Contract
Looking at the reviews so far (68% poor), perhaps I am wasting my time leaving mine, because clearly Microsoft's business plan includes not being troubled by such a huge percentage of very poor reviews, but for the record, here goes: - 1)I received a notification of automatic renewal of Office 365. I wanted to discuss this with Microsoft. 2) For some reason I am being advised that they have been unable to install my updates (perhaps connected with '3', I do not know) 3) They have managed, without my sanction, to install their News Feed, which I do not want, and I object to them doing this to my computer without my prior permission. I have spent hours googling how to remove this and all suggested fixes have failed. 4) As with other users leaving reviews, I have spent hours trying to find a way of contacting them for help, but without success. Quite apart from this appalling standard of customer service, likely it is cheaper for them (i.e. a mainstay of their business plan) to accept whatever financial cost there is to them as a result of the same, as compared with the cost of putting matters right. All of this is a breach of my contractual expectations. Seems like nothing will change whilst successive Governments knowingly allow such practices to be allowed with impunity in what is essentially an industry that has been allowed to infect us all with 'The Virus of a Cartel'. Perhaps my only course of action is to refer this to the appropriate Government Minister. Incidentally, I have had similar experiences with Amazon. Even wrote to their Uk head office - no reply. What is going on in this country? Or rather, why is it allowed to go on, what is the point of Government?
