I had a panic with one of the Monta…
I had a panic with one of the Monta machines taking my money and not charging my EV. When I contacted Monta a lovely lady called Maria walked me through what to do and she said the money would be returned. She reassured me but I was still worried as she can it's usually returned instant or between 7 to 10 business days. I was like WHAT? I can't wait that long. As soon as I finished typing to her my money returned. Thank you Maria for your help, my trust has been restored in using Monta charging points again.

I charged my Kia e-niro with64kW battery in northern Finland and they withhold the 30€ reservation, because they claim that I have charged over 100kWh in about 15 minutes. Charging stopped spontaneuosly (I probably got some 10kwh power at most) for unknown reason and this was result. They ”investigate” the case … it has been over 2 weeks and money seems to be gone. I understand that they have investigate their malfunction, but they make customer pay for it. Cannot recommend. I will stay away from chargers that are handled by them.

I used the Monta App at a property in Northumbria and was a little confused by their charge of £40 as a holding pattern, this was returned after a few emails but then two weeks later a charge for £161 appeared on my credit card and when I contacted them, the answer was I had used 200kw of electricity? My car is a plug in hybrid with a battery of 12kw and I made two charges during my stay. Very odd and in 10 years of using various networks this has never happened!
5 months and waiting still no help
We have endlessly tried to contact this company, for five months. They have no phone number and delay in responding, answering each email with a question that then takes them a day to reply to and then answering with another question thus never resolving the issue which could be solved with a 5 minute phone conversation. All we need is for them to simply to activate our chargers so they actually work. We have tried for 5 months to get our car chargers to work and it boils down to this company refusing to resolve or help. We have angry customers coming with electric cars expecting to be able to charge and they can't.
Found out today, after 5 months of calling the initial company that sold us the equipment who then sub contract to Monta, that Monta expect a payment, which is fine but we could have been told this 5 months ago. We also have had no information on how to pay and, ironically the balance required is £0.00 is shown on the app so it is an impossible situation. Also how can we pay for a service we haven't had and when they tell us we owe them £0.00 on their system? To get them to work they just need to press 'go' remotely their end, yet this seems an absolute impossibility of no communication. We are forced into a portal that gives not help or information. Whatever you do, do not go with Monta they are a faceless, black hole that don't care and never will.
Would not recommend to anyone
Charge points I attempted were not working and have spent 3 weeks trying to get money back that I had paid in to charge before realising this was not an option. After several emails I was able to withdraw the money on 11th November but this is still pending now!! Abysmal app not fit for purpose.
Email/Bot customer service only
Customer service is email only, with no telephone help desk we have been unable to set up Monta. They have refused to arrange a call to help fix our issue.
It was explained that if we paid more we could have telephone assistance.
There is a Monta public chargepoint…
There is a Monta public chargepoint I’ve tried to use 2 times now and I’m doing exactly as I should, use QR code , add funds, connect cables, 0kpwh , not working, can’t find any numbers for customer service and the help section is as much help as a chocolate fire guard. I would expect 24 h support what happens if cable gets stuck

The connection to the chargers keep dropping out causing frustrations among electric vehicle drivers. Despite an engineer attending site to resolve, the issues have persisted.
We need a permanent solution.

App is not mature. I cannot reach a scheduled in the future for charging operation. Service in France for this app is very weak.

The MONTA app is incomprehensible
The MONTA app is incomprehensible. The least user friendly app I’ve had the misfortune to use. I have a Rolec charger with MONTA as the operating customer software and I rarely actually manage a scheduled charge. On Monday it was supposed to charge midnight to 5am and actually charged 7.30am for just 1hr! I’d had a message confirming the scheduled charge. I hate it, does anyone know a better system I could use?

I'm always suspicious of a company that seeks to remove negative reviews rather than dealing with the issue!
My first, but now absent, review related to an unresponsive chat service. This one relates to app performance on a simple, single port home charger.
I have found it impossible to set the app to autocharge to 80 percent during my Octopus cheap hours of 0030 to 0530.
The use of "rules" is very poorly defined in the app, although, to my eye, there has been a very weak attempt to do so.
The three charging modes are also ambiguously defined and subfunctional in my experience.
I have now disconnected my charger from Monta. It's just not worth the bother. My car app works, albeit sluggishly, and I'll stick with that for now.
I don't expect this review to last long here as I'm blowed if I can bother to provide the additional data that I know will be demanded to not have it removed. However, you can easily check the validity of my review by simply opening the Android app and looking at it!
Monta have loads of videos that tell you what potential it offers....and it does have potential....but I think the investment in publicity would be better spent on logical and orderly app designs

Went to charge my car and the invoice was £3.20 but signed to pay up to £60. They have taken the rest of the amount. I have no idea how to get my money back.

Monta / Egg charging point - Gosforth
On charging my vehicle using the Egg charging point (owned by Monta) in Gosforth, Newcastle I was charged the pre-authorised £30 then the unit failed/went offline. I rang Monta and spoke to Graziella who said that there was no record of my transaction so I requested an email address for Graziella to send screenshots both with proof of the unit offline display, a debit of £30 from the Monta App and also the unit ID. Almost a day later now and I have had zero response even after a further two emails and I’m still £30 out of pocket.
***EDIT-UPDATE*** I have spoken to Salem who is based in Barcelona who informs me that my money will not be available until at least 20/09 - that is a day shy of a fortnight from the transaction - a transaction for which I received zero charge. Unbelievable really.
10/10 customer service
I had a really stressful experience today, my car charger disconnected and I could not get it back online, I went on live chat with Paula and she spent over an hour helping me and troubleshooting until finally we got it back up and running. She stuck with me and was so helpful, it really did restore my faith in customer service.

I have tried to close my account for 5…
I have tried to close my account for 5 months! I have communicated every months with several persons. Without success. Every month I get a new mail with negative balance - and I keep paying my monthly fee and close my account to get out.
Be aware - don’t go there.
