Oozing Glue That Never Dries
I bought a saddlebag purse. Loved it out of the box. Due to Covid-19, I never got to use it for over a year. When I took it out after this time passed, it was sticky. This rubber cement type glue had leaked out everywhere there was stitching. I contacted Montana Hudson to find out what to do. Several emails later: the only information I could get out of them was that their leather is conditioned with olive oil. What their main concern in the correspondence was that the bag was out of warranty, so not their problem. Oh, and they added that the only reason that they responded to my email was because they didn't want me to tell anyone about the condition of this bag. I am still searching for a way to get this glue, that never dries, off this bag. When I touch it, still, my hands come away sticky - it's like it's covered in syrup or something.

The bag I ordered I really like. However, the company seems dodgy and i would avoid. As other have said, it ships from Inda not the US and within hours of buying it, I had an additional fraudulent charge appear on my credit card and now the Australian fraud team inform me that my details have been leaked on the darkweb
Poor quality, no money back or replacement of damaged bag
Eva vintage tote I bought was dirty, black glue over zipper and the colour of the tote stained clothes and everything it touched. I did a reclamation, Montana Hudson admitted the bag I got was no good and they promised to change it. 3 months ago. Never heard of them since. No answer to my e-mails. No nothing. Highly recommed to avoid this shop!
Edit: 4th October I was finally refunded. Took long time, required masses of e-mails but finally I got a solution.

Lucy Leather Zip Tote with Wallet
This was advertised on Instagram. Received my bag from India wrapped in plastic and stuffed in a FedEx plastic mailer. The description said this was made out of Buffalo Hide, so I was looking forward to receiving a thick sturdy well made tote. The tote I received is made from some horribly tanned leather. It doesn't feel like leather. It does not smell like leather, but it does smell bad, chemical odor. It's very oily, the glue residue from all the seams and straps gets on your hands and is hard to get off. The leather is supposed to be brown but it's almost a dark cherry finish. I wiped it with a paper towel and the cherry color came off with it. I wouldn't consider carrying this purse as it might stain anything I get near it, the glue would get on my clothes and the smell, dealbreaker. As far as craftmanship goes, this bag was constructed and sewn very well. If it had been made from quality leather, had the straps fused at the sides, and did not smell, I would have loved it.
Fake leather!!!
Fast shipping, but didn’t matter. “Leather” tote smells to high heaven of chemicals. This is NOT leather people, not even partially!! I’ve tried airing it out, etc…Thought for the price I was for sure getting leather.
Untreated Leather
I had this purse for a week and a little bit of water got spilled on the front side. I immediately wiped it off with a towel that was handy but the leather was so raw that it left light colored streaks! I've never had that problem with other leather products that I've owned and Montana Hudson only suggests using their conditioning cream to up-keep the purse, not to apply it immediately. I wouldn't even take this out in a light drizzle- the leather soaked it up that bad. If I had realized that the leather hadn't been treated at all I would have put conditioning cream on it sooner. I have been searching for a leather recoloring balm but the problem now is that I can't find the right color. SO disappointed! I wish that I had bought a leather handbag somewhere that I could see and handle it before purchasing.

After ages of seeing ads for these beautiful bags on my Instagram feed, I sprang for one on sale. A couple of days after I ordered, I saw a FedEx label created in India. Nearly three weeks later, nothing has happened with that label and that order. I have been emailing customer service every other day, first asking them to check on my order (which they didn't even bother doing during days 7-14, just sent me canned messages saying they were sorry for my inconvenience and I should wait for the system to update), and then after day 14 asking for cancellation and a refund. They keep sending me messages saying they understand my feelings and will get that refund processed... but we are coming up on three weeks since the creation of that label and nothing has happened yet. If nothing happens by early next week I will call my credit card company and ask them to get my money back. These may be nice bags or they may not, but I have not been able to get near one, and despite the friendly language they use in their replies, they do nothing. Get one used on eBay if you have to, or better yet try another company.

Ordered a beautiful bag that I loved and paid full price for, and at checkout was roped into (which is my fault as a sucker for impulse-buys and “deals”) another bag at a discounted “price.” Got both bags. Loved the one I ordered. Didn’t love the add-on bag. Packaged it back up in the exact mailing bag in which they shipped it to me. Then learned that I had to send them photos for “approval” so opened it again, took photos of the brand new bag, had to email them to customer service for clearance to return (after offering for me to keep the bag at a barely-anything additional discount). Did all that they asked, paid for my own return shipping, sent them the tracking number that they asked for, and that was 2 weeks ago. I’ve emailed and they ask the same question—send the tracking number—which I’ve now done 3 times. Underwhelmed with customer service and I don’t write negative reviews unless I have a negative experience. Don’t get roped into another last-minute bag at checkout. Don’t shop at Montana Hudson. Customer service needs work. I need my full refund for the brand new, untouched bag that I returned. Still waiting.

They told me I could return it but since it was delivered, they have stopped all communication! BEWARE! This is a scam!

I got my Macy backpack today and it's magnificent !! I am very impressed with the quality of this item. I do wish the zippers were metal YKK but if that ever becomes an issue , 10 years from now , I know a local shoe shop that can handle sewing on leather jackets so these zippers should not be an issue are only on the VERY NICE cotton/canvas liner. The construction and materials used in this thing are top notch , it's so thick , durable and you can tell it's a well done piece of artwork that I'll use every day.

It will withstand years and years of daily use and will gain character as it ages , it's BEAUTIFUL from day one !! The pictures do NOT do it justice as it is twice as thick leather as I was expecting , not too heavy to hinder it's use though . The liner is a nice cotton/canvas ( as it should be ) that compliments this fine backpack . If you are on the fence about the price as it is expensive , it IS WORTH every penny . It boils down to that old saying , You get what you pay for . I am SO GLAD I didn't let that scare me away as this is the real deal and if it was not I would clearly point out flaws . The supple leather has a wonderful smell and feel to it , after 1 night of hanging in the closet stuffed with packing paper it's in the exact shape it should be ( mis-shaped from shipping a bit ) . accessible and it's very easy to use . The first 4 people to see it at work were amazed at the quality and maybe a bit jealous ;) This would be a GREAT item for yourself and if you give this as a gift it will be much appreciated guaranteed 100% . It holds a LOT more than it would appear , it's easy to take on and off and just plain works well and looks like the FINE artwork this is , made with craftsmanship you don't see very often today . I know there are many negative reviews out there, but that has not been my experience with this co. I was shopping for a leather tote that could fit a 15" laptop for an upcoming trip, emailed with several Qs & got prompt responses back. Placed an order & received it within 8 days; considering it is being shipped overseas, this was fine. (and consistent with their stated 7-10 day delivery period). Product was exactly as expected & am keeping it. (So I have not experienced the return process yet, but I have placed another order for a different product & we shall see.)

I was extremely disappointed with this company. I paid for my purchase but never received it. I sent numerous emails and initially got replies saying my purchase was in transit - they then stopped replying. I made this purchase last year and have found Montana Hudson to be the worst on line company I have ever dealt with. Proceed with caution before parting with your money!!

I have bought approximately 15-20 items from MH. I am underwhelmed in the packaging of the product. They are shrink wrapped to be mailed from China and I never know when the order will arrive. I receive promo codes for items at a cheaper price I just bought just after I ordered them. I’ve emailed and get the answer of “so sorry you experienced this” and then no answer when I ask for a credit. I can’t recommend this company due to my experiences over the past year and a half. I tried over and over thinking it would get better. It makes me sad!

Completely Satisficed
I finally received my new backpack! It took approximately 5 months. The first backpack was lost in transit. The 2nd backpack arrived but the shoulder strap broke off during my first week of use. The 3rd and hopefully final one arrived last week. During the entire ordeal, the customer service (Lori) department kept me updated which I appreciated. I will definitely be recording additional items.
Montana Hudson Monaco Buffalo Leather Briefcase
I recently purchased a Montana Hudson Monaco Buffalo Leather Messenger Briefcase. The quality of the briefcase is excellent, color is just about right, I ordered the dark brown version. It has a slight redish hue to the dark brown. Stitching quality is pretty good for a handmade product. My only compliant is that the dimensions do not match the advertised dimensions precisely. The website shows the dimensions to be 18” in length x 13” in height x 6.5” deep. However the actual product that was shipped to me and arrived on the projected date of delivery from India via FedEx, had a depth of only 5.25”, short by 1.25”. I filed a compliant with Montana Hudson (MH) at the discrepancy in the depth measurement complete with pictures and a measuring tape against the narrower depth than what was stated in the MH website. They offered me a return authorization to which I had countered with a proposal of a partial refund as compensation for the reduced depth measurement of the product delivered to me and I will keep the item sent to me. Their initial response was to offer me a 20% partial refund off the purchase cost if I were to keep the item. I wrote back that I was agreeable with the 20% partial refund. But in their confirmation email to me following my agreement to the 20% partial refund, noted a lower refund percentage of 15% as partial refund. I have since written back asking that they honor the original offer of a 20% partial refund but have not heard back from them yet. Generally I have found dealing with MH to be a reasonable process that takes several emails to work things out. I like the MH Monaco Buffalo Leather Briefcase, it is well made and looks like it will last a long time if well looked after and maintained. This is why I was willing to keep the briefcase even though it was narrower by 1.25”. I think the factory has some QC issues with following product specifications. But manufacturing quality of the product is pretty good.

Love these bags! I had been looking for quite some time for some exquisite leather products and am so thankful I found this company! So very impressed with the quality of workmanship and the leather is gorgeous! Also, their customer service was very attentive to me as the items took a little longer to arrive than I had expected but they were on it and the bags arrived shortly after my inquiry. Very impressed!!

Do not buy any products from this company! This company is a horrible customer service and impossible to refund! I ordered an leather bag with $240, and it arrived from India with wrapped up with plastic bag ( Not in a box!). Ended up I had to return it, but the return is a huge headache. I asked refund on 1/4 and today is 2/1. I haven't refunded yet either no one reply back about refund status. BE AWARE!

I got this ↓ reply from the company but HAVE NOT gotten any email reply from their “customer service” person yet. I am going to keep report this issue until get its final. Hopefully they can refund me fairly.
BTW, my return was definitely on time according to their return policy. Their return requirement was taking several sides pics of the item and submit to their customer service so that they can evaluate the item’s status. Mine was totally brand new condition ( it was not damaged, the reason for returning was just my husband’s preference).
****if you are thinking about order from them, think about this returning requirement and time to argue about your refund/replacement. ****

I got my money back. Is it because I wrote about my experiences in here?? I haven’t heard from them for couple weeks then all the sudden I got refund. Anyway, my battle is over!
