I went to the Derby store to look at a replacement car and with help from Connor , who was very helpful i found a car i liked , he offered me a very reasonable price for my car , and the following day we exchanged cars , very easy to deal with and its my second car from them , highly recommend

The process of purchasing a new car was seamless. It was easy, simple and hassle free. Martin at Derby was fantastic, he listened to our requirements and budget and provided 5 options of cars to look at. There was no heavy sell or upsell to go over our budget. Other staff upon collection were great too.

Just bought a one-year-old VW Touran from the Derby site. Two parts to this review.

The buying experience was 5*, exactly as buying a car should be. Warmly welcomed but then left to our own devices to inspect the car, no pressure or hard-sell, no needing to haggle, nothing too much trouble, understandly there was some attempt to sell extras but there was no pressure or awkwardness when we declined them. The process was very easy. Our sales advisor, Corey, was excellent throughout, and thank you to him for this.

The collection was not the same story. When you've handed over the best part of £24k for a car and travelled a fair distance to come and collect it, it's irritating to be left sitting there 20 minutes past your collection time with very little explanation of what is going on. "She's just with another customer, she'll be done in about 5 minutes" doesn't cut it, especially when that turns into nearly another 15. One might cynically suggest that now they have your money, you're less of a priority... The lady who did that was friendly and polite enough, but not exactly warm and chatty in the way Corey was - it was very businesslike, got the paperwork done and then on the way. No offer of a cup of tea or anything like the first time when we were actually buying.

A day later, I discovered the 12V sockets were not working on the car. Fortunately I thought to check the fuse box before needing to contact Motorpoint; on inspecting it I found the fuse blown, AND incorrectly installed. I doubt Motorpoint would have done this, so it probably happened before the car came into their possession, but this means the function of the sockets was not checked at any point... and then you start to wonder, what else did they miss.

Overall the experience was positive and I would buy from them again, particularly the actual buying process which was totally free of all the awkwardness and pressure and hassle you normally expect when buying a car - but having had that, I was a little underwhelmed by the handover and irritated with the electrical issue, which really should have been sorted before the car was handed over.

No pushy sales man,after holding the car my partner checked the engine before I bought it and yes there were a couple of minor issues but everything was sorted out for me within a week or so,sales rep Bailey can’t fault him at all and on completion wez was brilliant,only criticism I could actually say is communication between client and motor point could be alittle better

Great customer service, very warm, friendly sales agent who was informative and helped guide me through the maze of buying a car. Felt under no pressure to buy which was a huge difference to the other competitors I had visited, would definitely recommend

Jake, my salesperson, took the time to thoroughly explain all my options so I fully understood my choices. I’m definitely recommending Motorpoint and will definitely be returning for my next car.

The employees who I dealt with were very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a large choice of good value for money cars. They didn’t hound me repeatedly with pressure to buy additional add-ons like I’d seen in other car sales places. Gave a good deal on my part exchange.

"Incredibly poor aftersales care from the Derby branch. Sold me a car with a broken speaker and are now refusing to fix it unless I take time off work or leave myself stranded without transport. Total breach of the Consumer Rights Act. Avoid this company

Your team is refusing to look at my car at a reasonable time (3.45 pm)and trying to force me to pay for my own ubers upfront for a fault that happened in the first month.I have an email conversation with motorpoint regarding this issue which I can prove and I am a genuine customer.
