They give a retail price to look better than the other companies offering similar, it took 5/6 auctions and eventually got an offer 4K bellow their valuation. Totally depends on car you are selling.

I was nervous of using Motorway to sell my car, but I braved it and I am glad I did. Yes, it did take time to download and complete forms but that made sense seeing as you are selling a car of some fair value. I was originally quoted a higher value by Motorway, but it lost around £600 due the first service being four months late, which was when the car was with its previous owner - I was told due to this, it was considered having a partial service record by Motorway, despite me having a good service record thereafter - serviced regularly for many years up until I sold it. Rather harsh I shall admit. I didn't monitor the auction, I just waited for the result, and to my amazement my car attracted attention, and I sold it within four days at the listed price Motorway had it adjusted to. - The dealer who bought it, stated it had been well looked after. I was extremely happy to hear that, all considering.

When you look at other peoples websites and the way they deal with the public yours is far superior and you do what you say on the tin. It’s really sad when you get absolutely railroaded by the lights of we buy any car it’s just disgusting behaviour they offered me £3000 less for my car when I got there and you quite rightly reduce the price by £200 because there was one issue which I agreed with you operated in an authentic proper manner and you did the right thing at all stages the people who turned up to buy my car were excellent nice chaps and did the right thing. Why could we not have more of this in the UK? Instead? We have to deal with the lights of we buy any car who are absolutely out of control I did not need to sell my car. I wanted to sell it. They just excuse my language took the piss. I could not put up with it. I’d rather keep it and sell it to those idiots anybody reading this must be warned against their appalling behaviour motorway for me did a great job and the people they sent to me were exceptionally good and honest motor traders kindest regards, Gareth.

The Motorway site is basically an online auction house used by car dealer to build their stock of used cars.

I was introduced to selling my old car using Motorway by my nephew who used to work as a car salesperson. Initially I wanted to learn what would be a good sales price for part-exchange when I bought my "new" car at the car dealership.

I was asked to upload photos of different areas (interior and exterior) of my car, taken at specified angles. I also had to upload other ownership documents and some details to get a better price.

Once uploaded, the car was placed in the next auction and I got my price in less than 24 hours. I had 48 hours to decide if I wished to sell with them. As the price was exceedingly good and no one would offer it, I decided to use them. Within 6 hours of confirming the sale, a representative came to inspect my car THOROUGHLY on behalf of the buyer. I learnt that more scratches and imperfections were more visible in the dark with a torch than when examining a clean car in good daylight (as reflections can hide them). He photographed the underside of my car with his phone, and I was genuinely surprised by the extent of the corrosion despite keeping my car in good condition. He shared some tips with me to minimise this on my replacement car. Not surprisingly, the offer price was decreased. I am sure other professional buyers would do the same. The examiner promptly sent a report to the buyer who called me immediately (past 10 pm).

Upon accepting the updated offer, the money was transferred to my bank account immediately. A small administration fee was taken, but it was worth it.

I have already recommended Motorway to friends and I shall definitely use them to sell my replacement car.

You were great but taking photos was a nightmare not getting the right angles etc.or they were blurred. Took me 2 hours do them

My vehicle was originally priced at £16,100 which conveniently dropped to £15,145 as a guide price on the auction site. I then received a derisory offer of £14,299 which I refused to accept. How can they justify quoting nearly £2k more at the initial enquiry? Not happy!

Simple and straightforward

The first 'auction' didn't actually happen .. the 2nd just one bid, way way off the reserve .. the same with the 3rd auction.
Having said that the collection of the car went very smoothly and the dealer wouldn't leave until I had checked the money was in my bank account.

Motorway was very fast and very professional especially Meena she was really helpful. The only negative was the price I reluctantly accepted I know it was the buying company paid the price were they could make maximum profit. But Motorway was superb

Absolute dishonesty! They give you a guide price and by the time I showed two tiny marks on the paintwork (I mean tiny) and a scuff on the alloy, the price had gone to £12,300! Though before telling you this price reduction , I had to spend over 40 mins taking all the pictures they required. ! Avoid at all cost. Presumably set up by the dealers for the dealers. Daylight robbery which I will not participate in. Rather put on eBay for a private sale and given someone a good deal than give to this company!

Motorway down graded the service history on my vehicle before it went to auction when it’s next service wasn’t due for another 4 months and the vehicle had been serviced annually instead of bi annually on manufactures requirements resulting in a bid £1544 below guide price I’m still waiting for a response
