MTN is a kak network provider and they're incompetent
I ordered the home router online, and it was delivered 2 weeks ago. I have reported to them that I'm unable to connect to the router, it's showing "Connected without internet." I've been doing back-to-back with them for a week until the 7 days to return it passed.
I even went to the store in Vangate, but I was still unable to do this thing. That means I will pay for a router that we're not using for 12 months, and they can't even resolve the issue.
They are so incompetent, and I would never advise anyone to choose them & their customer care/coverage is useless.

Today has been my worst experience with MTN. I experienced a frustrating network since last night thinking it will be rectified before the day, dawn. I work remotely and MTN gave me the shock of my life today. Their customer service weren't responsive (it cuts off immediately i was about to speak to them). No communication whatsoever, in all this mess, they even deducted #50 severally from my account for what I didnt subscribed to. This is broad day light robbery. Please rectify my services and every deductions from my account. This is really annoying.

I purchased the 600GB Shesha bundle from MTN, payment was successful, but I never received the data. This has caused serious inconvenience because I work from home and rely on internet access to do my job. Due to this issue, I’ve missed deadlines and important meetings, which is completely unacceptable.
I have tried contacting MTN several times with no proper assistance or resolution. The customer service experience has been frustrating, with no clear answers or timeframes.
MTN, please resolve this matter urgently — either provide the data I paid for or refund me in full. Your failure to deliver has directly affected my work and income.
Truly appalling
Truly appalling. Wrongly charged for a data package in April 2024. Despite multiple messages there has been no attempt to address the issue. The Somerset Mall shop manager doesn’t want to help anxx so the CEO, Ralph Mupita doesn’t even acknowledge messages. Disgusting customer care - a view mirrored by many others here. MTN just don’t care.
Worst service provider - MTN
Worst service provider to ever try and contact or email you will get no assistance. My banking details was used for an unauthorised amount and I have sent proof and over 50 emails to every email address for them and supersonic- the company that they sub to, even to fraudhelp @MTN advising that I was emailed by them saying my banking details was used for another client and attached the proof also called and still not been refunded nor been contacted. Rather choose another provider and this is not the reputable company that they used to be.It is very sad.
SCUM
Firstly, their data network is incredibly slow. Upload speeds are almost non-existent, making video calls near impossible. This was tested in many different locations.
Secondly, less than a day after getting a sim from them, the number of which I did not give out to anyone, I started to receive several spam calls a day. That means MTN sells your telephone number to advertisers immediately after you obtain it. FILTHY DISGUSTING SCUM.

I would give 0 stars if it were possible. I have a contract for home internet with MTN. Their reuter only worked for less than 2 months. The most disheartening thing is having to pay for a contract, where no service is provided. I was sent from pillar to post by mtn customer care and the mtn store. Firstly, the mtn store refused to take in the reuter for repairs. One of the consultants accused me of having damaged the reuter and the other claimed that I had reversed payment. The next thing, they blatantly refused to book the reuter in for repairs because the contract was done online.....disregarding the fact that it was an mtn reuter. I had to come back home and call customer care and was told to go back to the store again. Mtn is just a useless service provider. Very much unprofessional service consultants. To date I am still paying for the contract for sweet nothing.

MTN South Africa said in one of they're posts on Facebook "not everyone is a scam" and I ask where? 5 months ago or more, I let mtn know that my salary date has changed and I can only pay for my month to month router on the 15th not on the 4th, they said noted, last month and the month before I made a payment at kolonade pretoria and pretoria cbd, both shops confirmed that the payment date is on the 15th. But now today I get an sms stating that my internet connection will be shut off tomorrow, isn't that scamming? It's the 7th of April 2025 today, trustpilot must enable us to send screenshots proof of my review, I got hold of mtn and I sent the screenshot of me requesting a change of that payment date, and the person never replied to me again, it's been an hour so far
MTN 135 is a dead-end
MTN is completely out of touch with their customers.
Their is no way to get help without contacting a single contact center, this contact center has an IVR with options that provide absolutely no assistance. The only way to get the help you need, regardless of what you need, it to select the option for Fraud, just to be routed to a human. Once you talk to a human, you will be given bad advice that usually contradicts with the terms and conditions of your service that will ultimately cost you more money.

Truly dissapointed. After paying for 60mbps line in excess of 1k, I waited three days for delivery which is fine. but now today the delivery persona arrives and tells me my biometrics are not being processed. after that he sends me a delivery pin, which arrived but when input in the DSV system, did not process. so he sends another one which never arrived, he then just left without giving me the router i paid for and said i must call mtn directly. fine, so i call mtn after mutliple calls they tell me i need to wait another 48hrs -72hrs for my call to be escalated. all the while my money is gone, i paid with no hesitation but now because of their system, I am 5 days and counting without wifi. WOW!!

Highly dissatisfied and flabbergasted by the service received from MTN. You’ve neglected to update my personal details after countless phone calls and requests. You’ve incorrectly charged me for insurance after cancelling the service in early 2024! You’ve failed to forward my statements since early 2024 ! I am beyond frustrated with MTN's unprofessionalism. I initiated a corporate contract and was double charged on certain line items amounting to almost 2 x my contract amount. MTN is a terrible company. I have had a prepaid number with them for 15 years. The other day they just cancelled my number because they say I didn’t buy any airtime. They never sent me a message or warning, it would make good economic sense to do that, they keep a customer and make a few rand. Anyway I’ll never use their services again. Had the worst experience with MTN Insurance.
I submitted the required documents on the 7th of October. I have to constantly call and send them emails for updates or for things to be done on my claim. I have spoken to multiple agents that all tell be contradicting updates and cant explain what exactly is happening with my claim or the claim process. Some of them just give me an attitude when asking for clarity on my claim. Now they just tell me they will communicate with me whenever the are any updates because I'm calling them too much to follow up.
Deeply disappointed with MTN!
Its almost a month now, without a phone and their claim process is taking forever.

I have tried to get the home internet for my house through applying online i hag been told an agent will contact with no avail. then i called 083135 to enquire what was going on , they transfer me always one of the ladies didn't even know where they should transfer my call , at last i am told to call again and take option 4 which is option for mo mo different to what i want i waited until i speak with the agent only to be told i should call 083137 which is a dead line
