Customer Focussed plumbing and heating company with experienced time served engineers. We operate from our small office in Allestree, Derby buy cover the whole of the East Midlands. All aspects of gas plumbing and heating covered including domestic, small commercial and site work also. 9 on the books engineers including a Joiner and Hamdyman with diaries managed by the office mean we are not some here today gone tomorrow outfit.

Poor service …

Refuse to respond or admit fault

Had a new build ‘plumbed’ by these individuals. They didn’t connect the dishwasher correctly and it ruined my entire downstairs flooring which was only installed 5 days prior. Had to have all of the flooring replaced. My soil pipe is leaking and has been leaking since the start of completion, a year ago. The boiler drops pressure often. The shower fluctuates in temperature frequently and they said it’s because it’s a new build?! One of the radiators isn’t suitable for one of my bedrooms and the room is 6-8 degrees colder than the rest of the house. It has been like this since completion over a year ago. The bedroom is inhabitable and would kill a baby, it is that cold!! 11 degrees with the rest of the house being 19 yet it’s been months, close to a year of the new build developer contacting Murfins and they still refuse to respond or contact me. They fail to do their job and return to the failed job. The stress this company has caused to me is horrific, especially since they’re also not wanting to fix these issues.

At this point, just give me the money and I’ll find my own reputable plumbers

If I could give zero I would

If I could give zero I would. Had a visit from Aidan who was supposed to send an estimate. After 2 weeks and nothing I rang the office and they said he was onto it and would let us know. Two more weeks and still nothing, so rang again. Same lies, promise of someone getting back to us and still nothing,not even an apology for being incompetent. AVOID

Ps let me know if you have any vacancies I'd bloody love to earn that rate

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your constructive review. The EICR’s as you will notice from your report and subsequent certification are carried out by our trusted contractor. The final invoice amount includes VAT at 20% and our small margin of 5% to administer the whole process for you so you didn’t have to do anything.

The EICR Paperwork is set out by the administering bodies overseen by the government so unfortunately we cannot do anything about the format.

Whilst the engineer may only have been in you home on the second visit for 1.5 hours the whole report has to be generated (and paid for again so there is much more work that goes on behind the scenes.

It is difficult to know how, given the cost of labour, fuel, administration, premises, certification, vehicle overheads and registration with the governing bodies that we could do it any cheaper.

If in the future you would like any clarification on pricing prior to posting you review then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

A fair price

Easy to book turned up on time serviced our boiler and fire cleaned up afterwards a pleasure to have in the house and a fair price would recommend

Turned up and rushed round and promised a quote as soon as possible. No quote ever received, clearly uninterested in the job

Boiler service was completed well.

Boiler service was, as last year, done very quickly and with no mess.
Replacing a faulty radiator valve was again completed quickly and with no mess but I as suppressed by the high cost of the valve.
