Tasty Food but Terrible Customer Service
We liked the food, it's tasty and portion controlled. They also claim to use quality ingredients. Many of the meals do nothave a vegetable, which is the first negative. The terrible customer service was the last straw. My last box, which contained incorrect meals, arrived 5 days late. Yes, there was a weather event that delayed it, but they didn't seem to care. I had to pay for groceries on top of these, which are a bit pricey. No attempt to make it right. When I asked them to close my account they didn't care.
I made a $66 order to try it out
I made a $66 order to try it out. When I made the order, the delivery date was for Jan 19 (Monday), it didn’t arrive until Wednesday late afternoon while I was at work. The next day, I have a $162 charge show up on my debit card from them. Unbeknownst to me, I unwittingly signed up for a wkly subscription and the deadline to order was 9am on Wednesday morning. This is before my first shipment arrived which means I have not even tasted the food yet and their email telling me I need to order before the deadline was in a spam folder so I didn’t even realize any of this until I saw the unauthorized charge on my debit card. Of course, I immediately called (Thursday 130pm) and no one manning the phones. My only recourse was to email them. I have gotten NOWHERE with these people. They keep sending me canned text regarding membership and that their system will pick something similar for you if you don’t order. I DONT THINK a $66 order is similar to a $162 order. I find it shady, sketchy and downright unethical how they have handled this situation. I’m disputing the charge with my bank. I’ve given them a suggestion to give new clients a week grace period so we can taste the food before ordering more and for the set up process to have a check box to utilize to hold off on second order until it’s been tasted. I do not care how good the food might be with this shady crud going on
This is my second review I found…
This is my second review and I found metabolic food to be better quality with larger proportions than other meal delivery company's. I'm coming back to metabolic.
One of the better plans I've used
When you sign up you are assigned an admin who is your contact for any questions or issues. He's always answers quickly by e-mail. The site explains how to switch from subscription to ordering when you want. Once when I ordered near 4th of July UPS delivered my meals 11 days late and the food was ruined, my admin immediately responded with a credit. My only complaint is the grass fed beef they use is so tough the steak meals are not edible. The shredded and ground beef meals are good and they have excellent seasoning. Their chicken meals are the best. Portions look small but because they are high in protein I am always full. Overall I've had a good experience with this company for over a year.
I received my 1st order 12/31/25
I received my 1st order 12/31/25. Today is 1/1/26. I haven't even had a chance to taste the meals to see if I'll like them and have already been billed $125 for the next 6 meals(total ripoff given the size of each meal) I didn't even get a chance to order. Would NOT recommend this service.
Poor quality meals
Poor quality meals - Metabolic Meals advertises as a high quality food delivery service. They have a good selection of meals to choose from, but their meals are definitely less tasty than FACTOR. The meal packaging is also below standard. The film wrap on each meal does not come off easily. Will not repeat. Definitely will return to Factor for their quality.
I got scammed by the company
I got scammed by the company. It offered a trial and then turned into a subscription. They won't answer. The phone couldn't get logged into their account. They charge me twice. I'm not even sure if I'm canceled yet. The meals are not very good. Overall the worst customer experience you could possibly have. Don't use this company.
LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY
The food looks rather unappealing when it arrives. But, it gets worse when you open the top of the packaging and actually get a whiff of the food...UGH!
But, when you are brave enough to taste it because you are starving after working 12 hours.... the taste of it is disgusting. This is by far, the worst food delivery service I have ever used. And, the customer service is as bad as the food. There are so many food delivery services out there... LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE AND SKIP METABOLIC MEALS FOOD DELIVERY SERVICE. (if I was on my phone, this is where I would insert the vomiting emoji!)
Don't do it
This is priced and advertised as a pay for meals you want no commitment. NOT TRUE !!! If you decide no meals for a week, they choose not just 6 but 9 meals and charge full price. These meals may or may not fit your dietary needs, they may or may not be palatable for you. They don't care!!! They will not refund or credit you. Customer service is horrible and unless you like bland, as in plain noodles without flavor or sauce, dry meat, boiled chicken with NO FLAVOR this service will be 1 star for you too. Also when you want to cancel it is nearly impossible. I have a doctorate and it took me over an hour and 1/2 to get this canceled. They should be sued...just like Amazon.
Automatic ordering is a scam
Automatic ordering is a scam! You can't cancel a subscription. Do not order with this company. No one answers their phone I canceled on 11/17 and they are still charging me for a 11/20 order! Terrible customer service!
This is the worst food company ever
This is the worst food company ever. Nobody ever answers the phone. They say they’ll call you back but they never do. I initially ordered a box of six meals got the box then my microwave broke so I tried to tell them not to send me anymore. They sent me more food that I can’t even eat because I can’t eat certain things. I did not choose the second box of food they sent me so not only are the six meals wasted but also the $125 some money needs to do something about this company. They need to shut it down. It’s got a lot of bad reviews.
Gave me a meal containing peanuts
Gave me a meal containing peanuts - which im deathly allergic to!
The service is underwhelming. After my first box, I stopped selecting meals due to them tasting pretty bland. I forgot I was on a subscription, so I was disgruntled to find they had still processed my payment without me selecting meals for that delivery cycle.
I thought it would turn into credits to use since I didnt select meals, but it turns out they just SELECTED MY MEALS FOR ME, which to me is a HUGE NO NO. I happen to have a deathly peanut allergy, so when I found that they packed a peanut-based food in my box, I had to ask my housemate if he could take the whole box because I didn't want to risk going into shock.
On some level it’s probably a scam
The food is ok, but despite clicking skip the week they still billed me and chose 7 meals when I only order the minimum of 6.
No communication
The concept is commendable, but the food quality is subpar and the portions are minuscule. The presentation is unappetizing, which is a significant source of dissatisfaction. When I attempted to cancel my second order due to the poor quality of the food, my emails were ignored. Instead, I was informed that I could unsubscribe from the mailing list. Money wasted.
Absolutely Terrible customer service
Absolutely Terrible customer service. They don't even try to care about the customer! Extremely unprofessional responses and refused to help. I signed up to try the service and the website stated that you simply need not to select meals if you do not wish to order, so I left it that way and did not select the meals. Also, after filtering for my allergies (dairy) there were only 4 meals available for me to order, and the system required 6 so I could not order myself 6 full meals if I wanted to. I happened to check the account to see if any more meal options were available for me to order and there were still only 3-4 options. Then I happen to see an automatic order of EIGHT meals (about 6 of them I was allergic to) and a charge of around $129.00. I immediately contacted them to cancel the order as it had not even been fulfilled or shipped yet and they refused to help at all. After continuous contact they proposed to recover the cost by putting in a coupon code forcing me to purchase from them again. I told them they don't have enough meals within my diet restriction for me to even order again and they wanted to force me to order duplicates. This is unacceptable to me. I asked to speak with customer service manager, and they stopped responding to me all together. Their communication tone was very dismissive and unbothered as if they had no consequences.
Unedible
Unedible. I tried basic pasta with chicken and the chicken was rubbery and reminded me of chicken in school lunches. What a joke.
Not "metabolic" + horrible customer service
The term "metabolic meals" is misleading and false when you do not offer meals that support, optimize, or improve metabolism.
Additionally, their customer service in trying to resolve this issue has been appalling, childish, and unprofessional. Conveniently, their function to leave a review on their own website is broken, and their customer service has been totally unresponsive in my 3 attempts to resolve.
As a nutritionist, I would NOT recommend this to my clients.
The food is only ok
The food is only ok. They're not balanced meals and considering that, they cost too much for what you get. The food they show in pictures is nothing like what you get so I say that's false advertisement. I signed up and ordered the first week but that took 10 days to show up and before I even received the first box I got an email to pick the following weeks food. I ordered once more to check out other items but I already canceled my subscription.
I order meals to try them..
I order meals to try them..
I did not like them..
I texted and told them not to send anymore meals. They went on and billed me $137.03 for I don’t even know what…
They got my text and never returned my money..
Now they are sending those crappy meals..
I have no room for them..
I had told them I am 76 and have nowhere to put them.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!

No One's Home and Good Luck with Delivery
The meals we enjoy. However if you have an issue, good luck. No one EVER answers the phone number and if you want a refund for thawed product they ghost you. Poor customer service and the worst delivery partner Fed-Ex really bring my opinion of them down.
