Where do I start
Where do I start? Way too expensive. The meals are bland. The beef strips were full of gristle. The meatballs were mushy. We have thrown away partially eaten meals. Customer service is terrible. We have had to pay for three weeks of meals because of poor customer service. I want my account removed, but so far that hasn't happened.
NOPE
OMG I tried to order 5 times and each time they declined my card…which is absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea if their food is any good or not because their customer service is so bad I don’t intend to try it! Also don’t like having to order 6 meals whether I want that many or not
I was charged and the food never came
I was charged and the food never came. The company's response was to issue a gift card when I asked for a refund. I can't eat a gift card. Avoid them at all costs.
Horrible customer service, unreliable delivery
The food is all gluten free which was important to me and tasted good. That's about the only pro.
Their customer service is horrendous. They are terrible communicators and don't take responsibility for anything. The meals arrive two days before they are scheduled to, which means they spoiled while I was on vacation. I use the mobile view only, as do many people who do most things on their phone, and there is absolutely zero indication that the date may vary. Their "How it Works" page even says "reliable delivery!" Their rude customer service told me that it clearly says "week of x date" on the page where you pick your meals and that the date could vary "for freshness" or whatever, but it only says that on DESKTOP.
Please go check with your QA/UX team about how your product actually works before being rude to customers, and take responsibility for your errors! I requested that they cancel all future shipments after being spoken to this way and they stopped responding so I'm stuck with another 2 weeks of this.
Whoever does their deliveries is completely incompetent as well, I had to search all over the grounds of my large apartment building to see where they had left it. We have a package room, but they left it sitting outside the room instead of checking it in properly to the system so I would get a notification. The next week they left it near the mailboxes for the other side of the building, not even my mailbox. It could have easily been stolen in these places.
The portions are also laughably tiny and I'm a small person with a poor appetite. Many meals don't even contain any vegetables or sides. I would recommend checking out some of their popular competitors with more balanced and larger meals (but the same price).
Too expensive for bland and unimaginative food
I have tried numerous prepared meal delivery services. I saw a promotion for Metabolic Meals and thought I'd give it a try. I'm really disappointed with the overall quality of the meals. For the price point I was expecting more flavorful and higher quality meals that are described as "chef-crafted." My go to meal service is CookUnity - which is amazing, truly chef-crafted - yet a bit expensive. I would give Metabolic Meals a couple of more stars if they were priced based on the actual quality of the meals - yet after the promotion 6 weekly meals costs about the same as CookUnity, which is infinitely better in quality, taste and variety. In all honesty you can find frozen dinners at the grocery store for less money that are at least as good or better than Metabolic Meals.
Poor customer service/dishonest
I did not care for meals so I did not plan to reorder as I chose the “my choice” package. All the sudden charges started to appear on my credit card that I had not authorized. I called and they said they would reverse charge and cancel order but they did not. Poor customer service. I never put my card on file with them but somehow they kept my card number? I had to cancel my credit card. They must be desperate to resort to dishonesty.
Very good quality food compared to…
Very good quality food compared to similar options. A lot of protein if you choose the larger portions. For me, the regular size meal is plenty. They are not salty like most. They are well seasoned and if you like tasty, this is the way to go. Customers service is great, either via email or over the phone. Might be higher priced, but absolutely worth it.
