Excellent experience with Napthens
Excellent experience with Napthens. Dawn was very good throughout my sale and onward purchase. Would higher recommend for any house sales or purchases!
Thoroughly professional
As the title suggests, Zara and the team at Napthens provided a highly professional service from start to finish. We were kept updated at every stage of the conveyancing process, and we never had to chase replies to phone calls or emails. We were always kept fully informed. We would highly recommend Napthens as conveyancing specialists.
Excellent
Charlotte & her team were so helpful, professional & understanding during our sale due to bereavement. Could contact them at any time with questions, or to clarify anything. This is the second time we have sold with Napthens & would not hesitate to use them again.
Absolutely Outstanding Service
We recently used Napthens Solicitors for the sale of our house, and the service has been brilliant from start to finish. The entire process was handled with efficiency, clarity, and professionalism throughout.
Special thanks to Kelly Abraham and Rob MacGregor‑Forshaw, who were both exceptional — always responsive, knowledgeable, and supportive. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we felt in very safe hands at every stage.
If you're looking for a conveyancing team that delivers both expertise and peace of mind, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Napthens.

Negative Rating!!!!
I turned to Napthens Solicitors for legal support—what I received was negligence, conflict of interest, ignored instructions, and unauthorized billing. My experience spanned over a year and culminated in Napthens withdrawing from my case after causing significant damage.
They shared my late husband’s death certificate with opposing counsel without informing me.
They missed key deadlines, failed to enforce settlement terms, and let critical agreements lapse—all while charging me.
When I raised a conflict of interest, they refused to reassign my solicitor, dismissed my complaint, and billed me for complaining.
I had a £0 balance when I formally objected, yet they continued to act without consent and added new charges before withdrawing.
I was left to file my own strike-out application because they neglected to challenge a baseless claim.
All of this occurred without regulatory intervention—the SRA and Legal Ombudsman have yet to act, despite being made fully aware.
I’ve paid the price in time, money, health, and trust—and no one has been held accountable.
I do not recommend Napthens to anyone seeking competent, ethical, or client-centered legal representation.
Update:
My complaint has now been with the Legal Ombudsman for over 450 days without resolution. This extraordinary delay highlights a deeper problem — law firms like Napthens know there is little real-time accountability, and they exploit that gap to avoid taking responsibility.
Comment after Napthens’ reply attempting to downplay the issue:
Thank you for responding. I must clarify that while the SRA chose not to pursue action, this does not equate to a finding of no wrongdoing — only that the issues did not meet their regulatory intervention threshold. That does not absolve Napthens of the actions I described.
It’s disappointing to see Napthens respond with a generic statement that ignores the core issues raised:
Sharing my late husband’s death certificate without consent
Continuing work after I had withdrawn instruction
Refusing to reassign a solicitor despite a declared conflict
Billing me for a complaint I was forced to make
These are documented facts, not opinions — and they remain unresolved. Napthens’ choice to sidestep them and rely on procedural deflection is telling.
My review is based on verifiable communications and forms part of an active complaint with the Legal Ombudsman.
I encourage readers to ask hard questions of any legal service provider — and to document everything. Transparency is key. I stand fully behind my review.

Couldnt fault the service that was provided to be on my recent sale and purchase , a special thanks to Sophia and Sara who guided me though the process and were responsive and helpful throughout .
Positive experience
The solicitors listened to me and believed in my case. I always received a quick response to any queries
Positive property sale experience
Napthens handled a recent domestic property sale. Dawn Culshaw (Preston) provided an excellent service - she is always clear and straight forward to liaise with and if you want things progressing quickly is not reluctant to assist. Thanks to Dawn a positive experience.
Poor communication
Our beloved father passed away in 2022 and Napthans was the solicitor that has always looked after my parents accounts. Initially I had a good experience with them dealing with the will. However since I sold my father’s house there have been a catalogue of failures. The main issue is communication and the amount of time it has taken to resolve and close the accounts. In addition to this they tell me due to the amount of time the original fee has gone up by £1500. I have had to chase the solicitor constantly regarding the accounts, and even when they commit to action something this doesn’t happen and I have to chase them again and again, and all the time I am being charged for the delays. I know they are very busy but so am I and I don’t find it acceptable to tell me I’m next on the list when I am paying for a service. This has been really stressful and as it is a very emotional situation I do not feel that Nathan's have dealt our situation with empathy. I would not recommend this company and certainly not to deal with wills. Our situation remains unresolved.

Avoid choose another firm
Give them half a chance and they will fleece you. Avoid at all cost in my opinion!
Thank you again Jennifer
I've used Jennifer Snape now at least 3 times for convayencing and I would always use her as my go to.
Maybe I'm missing out on others at Napthens but I find Jenny very good to deal with.

Nadya and Demi
Nadya and Demi, completed everything in a short period of time, to ensure completion before the April deadline. Cant thank both enough for their hard work and endeavor. Thanks for your thorough and professional approach whilst dealing other ongoing third party issues.

They made very little progress with my case and it cost me a considerable amount of money. I ended up contacting the legal ombudsman as I felt the costs did not reflect a fair outcome.
They did deduct a set amount in my favour.

Completely failed to carry out instruction.
I have been a client for 55 years, they hold deeds for 25 properties. I wanted to apply some important revisions to my Will. They would not advise me about it over the ‘phone and after waiting a week I was obliged to go to Lytham where I spent an hour with their Legal Director Wills & Estate Planning, Ms. Helen Gaskell.
She made notes of my instruction to revise parts of the existing Will and I was promised, at the time and in a later email, that the document would be at my house on a specific date. The cost would be £900.00.
Whilst Will reviews are free and new Wills are chargeable, I rather thought that charge for small amendments / revisions was a bit steep but I accepted the charge.
Nothing arrived by post and there was no communication of any kind for the following two months by which time I had completely lost all trust in her and made other arrangements.
I never had any full explanation for the failure to act on my instructions.
I expected, but never had a personal sincere apology for the negligence.
Mr. Richard McDowell, their head of Client Resolution maintained that the problem arose because I had not reminded their Legal Director of her obligation to carry out my instruction and post a Will to me.
I would have expected a senior Director who presumably has a work diary and a secretary, to provide that which it offers on their brochure i.e. reliability, “ For Specialist Professional advice Rely on us “.

In my opinion, totally incompetent
In my opinion, their total incompetence was very costly and enormously frustrating. Sophie Ward asked for documents already supplied repeatedly, asked for irrelevant information, made costly spelling mistakes which took up weeks of delays, involved employment solicitors when none were needed and the list goes on. We have reported her to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority who are looking into our case.

Napthens managed the conveyancing of a property
we recently purchased.
They offered and delivered a very professional service that did not just live up to our expectations, they excelled and exceeded them.
Communication was excellent throughout. This was a process we were unfamiliar with but the way in which they managed it, gave us an in depth understanding of what was happening and so we had no surprises to shock or unnerve us and, if we had any questions, they were answered without undue delay.
The way in which they conducted business meant we were devoid of unnecessary stress, and so were reassured and had faith in all they did.
Napthens kept us up to date throughout, consulted with us, guided us, advised us and educated us by providing detailed explanations on each stage as we progressed through the process.
We highly recommend them for their professionalism, integrity, due diligence, advice and support. An excellent service which we will use again for property issues and any other legal matters.

Not recommended for Self build conveyancing
Me and my partner were recommended to use Napthens as our solicitors could not conduct self build conveyancing.
We wish we had looked at similar reviews before signing a contract with Napthens due to enduring months of stress and doing 90% of the leg work ourselves to be charged a hefty invoice.
Would not recommend this company again to anyone requiring self build conveyancing.

Napthan's provided excellent conveyancing service
Napthan's provided advice, guidance and kept me fully updated through what proved to be a very frustrating conveyancing experience. Without Naomi's frequent and timely updates together with her pragmatic approach I would have withdrawn my offer rather than seeing the purchase through.

Nadya and Demi pulled a blinder
We were part of a complicated 6 person chain and it was far from straight forwards. Nadya and Demi went way above and beyond what was in their remit and we are so grateful. A tenacious pair of absolute diamonds - They absolutely held the chain together when it had been on the brink of collapse - even other people in the chain we had contact with were seriously impressed with everything they did - Cannot than you ladies enough x
