#togethertravelco! Great for kids
It was a lovely break in the fresh air of the lovely Yorkshire Dales
We loved Dochgarroch cottage
We loved Dochgarroch cottage. Well equipped and comfortable, with great views. Although it is out of town, there is a quirky restaurant just behind, with excellent Scottish food, and the hop on, hop off bus arrives there, too! Jacobite tours docks nearby.
Things to know: there were no kitchen linens provided, which made cleanup difficult. There is no shower - there is a bathtub with handheld shower.
Our week at Natural Retreats Llyn Peninsula - #togethertravelco
We had a wonderful week’s stay at the Natural Retreats site on the Llyn Peninsula. The organisation throughout by Together Travel was excellent before and during our stay. The accommodation was superb and very dog friendly, which Coco, in particular was grateful for.
The location and surrounding scenery is breattaking and within a short distance in any direction you had a wonderful blue flag beach to explore. There is lots to do and explore in the surrounding areas and then to return to our wonderful cottage after a day’s exploring was fab. For good measure the beds in the cottage were so comfortable, we slept like babies! A truly relaxing break in a lovely part of Wales.

We booked 2 x 4 bed villas with balcony. We stayed for 2 nights from the 4th of May 2019. The villas were immaculate and stocked everything we needed, including a lovely hamper. All of us had an amazing time. Thank you #togethertravelco!
Bliss!
Wonderful location, peace and quiet and luxurious accommodation. Been three times now and rarely feel the need to leave the grounds. Welcoming and helpful staff.
Completely exceeded expectations
Lews Castle was the nicest apartment we have ever rented- it was beautifully furnished with tasteful decor and great views from the windows
The bed was comfortable and the linens were high quality
We appreciated the welcome pack and the Scrabble set !
Lovely Cotswold cottage
We stayed at a lovely property in The Cotswolds - it’s a very well converted farm cottage with all the things you need there. It’s in a nice quiet location with plenty of out door space which the kids loved playing on. We also appreciated the communal bbq provided and enjoyed a great spring evening family meal outdoors! The property was nice and clean with a bright and airy feel. The only improvement could have been a larger bed, the room could have easily accommodated a Super King, I found the bed in there a little too small. The only downside was on the last day as we vacated, I caught an expensive T shirt on a nail sticking out of the front door, which has caused a hole and ruined the garment. A shame as this was the only thing that caused disappointment!
Perfect 13th Birthday Sleepover!
We booked the Sutherland Suite at Lews Castle, to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday. Thirteen year old girls are honest critics, and they all agreed the accommodation was fabulous; the Castle setting beautiful and our overall stay a fantastic experience. Staff were very friendly and even delivered eight portions of warm waffles and ice cream up two flights, including spiral stairways. I am really delighted that we chose to celebrate at Lews Castle. My daugter wants her next birthday there too, which says it all!
Great stay with some issues
Had a great stay at Adlussa cottage over December ‘18. Great location and so secluded along the great canal way. Would love to return however we found some issues with the cottage. The bed was very uncomfortable due a replacement. We both slept on the sofa after a few days which was disappointing. They’re was also a smell in the bathroom almost like black mould was growing somewhere under the shower. I feel the cottage may need maintainence for these issues but if they were resolved we would be back.
Very clean and spacious villa
Very clean and spacious villa, great for family gathering at Christmas.
Cosy restful retreat
We love the location on the Llyn Peninsula with its beautiful views & great walks & find it very restful. Second time in ‘The Cottage’ which now has had some nice new features such as touch button shower controls & a log burner which added to the lovely cosy feel. Very well equipped & beautifully clean as usual.
Well looked after by Julie (and her dog!) and hopefully we’ll be back.
Fabulous girlie weekend away in stunning lodge with outstanding views
We had an amazing weekend at the natural retreat lodge. The lodges are superb and well equipped with e very thing you need for a self catering break. The view from the lodge was amazing and we could have sat all day watching the wildlife come and go! Would definitely recommend it to anyone from families, girl groups, couples etc.
We will definitely be returning at some point.
Many thanks for making our stay unforgettable.

An oasis of beauty, calm and tranquility
A wonderful stay in our lodge in the middle of the woods, this is what we dream about! No work, no noise other than tweeting birds and the rustling of rabbits. A stunning location, perfect for walking, perfect for relaxing and perfectly placed to visit lots of local places including the very welcoming Richmond Castle and market place. The lodge is finished to a high standard with everything you could wish for and more. We’ll visit again soon.
Not a luxury stay.
Not a luxury stay. Shower did not work properly, alternating between too hot and too cold making it unusable. Hot water then ran out after one bath. Cold cottage generally (despite mild weather outside) with immersion water heater, which was not switched on in advance of our visit so water cold. No dishwasher despite details saying dishwasher tablets available. Similarly no DVD player despite DVDs being present in the property. Washing machine also not working during visit. General air of damp especially in the kitchen as no heating in this room. Windows rotten and draughty. Light bulbs in hallway not working and kitchen clock batteries need changing. Hard to clean log burner as no dustpan. Inadequate seating in lounge for 4 people. Would have been helpful to have local information on walks around and near the cottage (rather than info on Loch Lomond) eg would have been great to know about the Crinan Trail which we came across by chance. Lack of wifi made it difficult to access local information. Pet cleaning fee of £50 excessive for type of property. Came home early from stay so unfortunately I would not recommend staying at this cottage .Unfortunately makes me question information contained in Natural Retreats information and so unlikely to book through this agency again.
Perfect weekend away
If you're in need of a break away from the hustle and bustle of normal life then this place is what you need. As soon as we arrived everything was just perfect. The lodge was immaculate and had everything we needed. This really is the perfect getaway. Richmond town is full of lovely shops and pubs too. We loved the castle tavern. We will definately be back!
Relaxing holiday
Another fantastic holiday with Natural Retreats in Yorkshire.
Great service, welcoming and comfortable lodges, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of thanks to Amanda and Jack.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Our newborn loved his first holiday.
We are definitely coming back.
New Year's visit to The Cottage
This was our 2nd holiday with Natural Retreats, having previously stayed in the Cotswold's, and we were absolutely delighted with the accommodation. The Cottage is a large 2 bedroom property, both with en-suite bathrooms and walk in showers, and there is also a large downstairs bathroom, fully equip with its own bath! The living accommodation is comfortable and spacious and the kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals, if you so desire, as well as a dishwasher and washing machine.
We actually ate out most days, visiting a number of local pubs / restaurants around Nefyn /Abersoch where we always received a very warm welcome with our golden retriever. Our favourites were the Ship at Edern and the Ty Coch in Morfa Nefyn which is on a lovely sandy beach and an absolute must for a couple of drinks after a long walk along the beach and coastal path.
We had a lovely time in Nefyn and would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a few days away near the sea. The only one downside is there isn't a pub within walking distance but you can't have everything!! #naturalretreatsuk
Natural Retreats at John O’Groats…
Natural Retreats at John O’Groats lodges are beautiful and spacious. From the bedrooms to the bathrooms and the open kitchen and living room area with the floor to ceiling windows was beyond our expectation. The furnishing of kitchen supplies to the furnitures were all top notch and was very beautiful. The complimentary welcome package was a very nice touch. We travel during Christmas so the wood burning fireplace was a great feature. The personal responses from the manager was exceptional. We were very impressed of the lodge but the issue with field mice droppings found in the water closet (where you would turn on/off the heater/hot water) put a damper and anxiety on our holiday experiences at John O’Groats. If it wasn’t for that we would have enjoyed our stay much much more.
Here are a few things we would recommend should you like to make future improvements.
- Might be beneficial to look into adopting some feral cats to address the field mice issue.
- Cover all holes in the Water Closet area including the area around the pipe lines.
- Cover all gaps between the pipes and flooring area in living room and any other area that has pipe lines.
- Include a land line phone in each lodge incase guests who does not have a UK phone or there is no coverage in John O’Groats.
- Provide a reminder for guests to turn off the lights if they don’t need it, to save energy but for other guests can see the night skylights.
- Provide a list of things on where guests can get more of for example (firewood, dish tablets, etc.)
Regards,
Jones Family
