Invest the time and get a huge benefit

I had a very good experience with NewChip.

Their curriculum on everything startup is comprehensive and deeply insightful. It's not just book knowledge. It's successful, real entrepreneurs telling you what made them successful in great detail. It's invaluable insight that immediately had a positive impact on my startup.

My experience with their investor relations (IR) team was very positive, too. Some people complain about not getting access IR early enough in the program. But NewChip is very clear from the start what you need to do to access IR, and I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to introduce investors to startups who were not ready. We got intros to more than 15 investors, and when we met with them our pitch was ready because of all the work we did with NewChip.

Overall the theme is invest the time in the NewChip program and you will be very richly rewarded.

Highly recommended: a great program to get investor-ready, extend your network and become a more successful entrepreneur

A well-designed curriculum and a great team helped us get investor-ready in a few weeks. A big asset of the accelerator is the team of high-calibre mentors. We signed up a channel partner and received guidance during the sales process for a very large client. And we still have 2/3 of the program ahead of us. I highly recommend Newchip.

Dont be lured. They are money scheme.

Our covid charity, White Tents, focused on digital vaccine wallet was approached by Newchip. We were initially not interested in advancing with them but they convinced our team to hurry up and pay the fee so we could reserve space in their February cohort. We were assured could quit and get money back easily but that it was a special honor and difficult to be accepted and we should not lose such a fortunate spot. We did quit before the start date but they responded to our email saying we should wait and talk to the CEO. They never said, hey to meet the bizarre small letter print withdraw requirements in the small print, you need to withdraw before date cohort begins (which we did,) and send email to specific email box. The fact that Newchip responded to our withdraw request shows the company was aware of our intention to wothdraw in a timely manner. Clearly they got the email and asked that we speak with CEO before quitting. They keep saying we did not quit before the start date but ignore the mails sent to them asking to quit and get money back that were timely and received by their team and resonded asking us to stay or they would look into refund. They are trying to say that when sent email asking to quit, needed to send to a specific box or a form which is in fine print. No where when they responded did they say, no problem if you want to get money back, please send a mail to x or y saying this to start formal refund process. They clearly have arcane rules and dont act in good faith. Even call centers transfer you to the right area eventually. When asked to qyit they knew in timely basis, didnt say hey we have a process do this but said dont quit... Like a multi tier marketing scheme that just wants your money. All this work is seemingly to charge and keep $8.000. We kept insisting on our money back and the company failed to respond or made promises to refund but never followed through. Lots of emails sent January, February,
march April of last year until we emtered formal complaint in their stsyem in October which they use to excuse themselves, ignoring all the emails sent, received and responded to by their executivez/ VPs. No services were ever used. They didn't say in timely manner that there was a problem with refund request and please use the services. They seduced the team to enter by assuaging doubts with a - you can quit -and when we quit promptly they didn't want to refund the money but asked us to speak with CEO. We no longer get to speak with CEO when requesting our refund. Instead we get formalistic customer service folks who also seem to have jobs with other companies and don't respond or follow up. Obviously the money itself is not an issue. The sticking point is why would a company that deals primarily with young, unsophisticated founders try to retain funds when clearly no service was given and the start up wanted out. The customer is always right ? Not here. There were no costs incurred by Newchip
Absolutely no reason not to honor their word. They don't reach out and respond. We just got a formal response from Taylor Bates who ignored our historic emails showing that we withdrew on timely basis, adducing more than a year after we requested to withdraw that that they unfortunately have to reject our request. When you go online you will see many other similar poor reviews of Newchip for the same fraudulent behevior. I'm embarrassed that we fell for the con being smart folks but the conman here comes in a different disguise. Posting now to really have people be aware and avoid. Don't fall prey to the same trap. Many of the positive reviewd seem written by friend of theirs so when you google the names of some of reviewers in linked in, they are not entrepreneurs or start up founders. Our key team members are meanwhile happily engaged in succesful, new ventures in different areas with great boards and mentors.
However the trigger for this message is the ridiculous treatment by Newchip which isn't an honorable entity. CEO calling to dissuade someone from asking for 8.000 back and then disappearing and not honoring anything. Bad people preying on energetic creators.

Hi Jeffery,
Your team applied, was accepted, and joined the accelerator in January of 2022. Shortly after your team requested access to the founders to help you navigate an M&A transaction versus raising capital- of which the founders obliged.

After these initial calls, our team didn't hear from you again until multiple months later - you did not participate in the program, nor did you graduate.

In October of 2022, nine months later, you emailed our team requested a refund due to "I never ended up using the program given that we were so far along in the M&A conversation... we ended up winding down the company.." Shortly after, our team setup a call with you, of which you did not attend.

Due to our policies, it is not possible to issue a tuition refund a year after joining the program and not participating for any reason, or specifically in this case due to an M&A transaction that fell through and shutting down the company after that.

If you reach out to us at support@newchip.com we're able to restart you in the program under another company in the future or the same company if you want to reset it, however, our policy and agreement is clear in the case of non-participation in the program.

I'm so glad I came across their platform while looking for funding possibilities

As the founder of a startup, I can't speak highly enough of Newchip! I'm so glad I came across their platform while looking for funding possibilities. A wide range of tools and resources provided by Newchip have been crucial in assisting me in growing my business.

The Newchip staff is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. They have helped me improve my pitch deck to make it more appealing to investors and have given me insightful information about the fundraising process. Their mentoring program has also been excellent; I've had the chance to get in touch with seasoned business owners who have given me priceless direction and counsel.

The Good & Bad So Far

The instruction is to "rate your recent experience" but I'm not quite sure of the expected context I am supposed to be reviewing here. It's still early in our Newchip journey so this feedback is based on the limited engagement we've had in the first 5 weeks or so.
Good:
*Access to a huge variety of super helpful mentors who are highly approachable with all kinds of business and execution questions.
*Thoughtfully paired program mentor assignment.
*Mastermind session safe spaces where founders can support founders.
Not good:
*The curriculum content is a bit of a mess. It's rife with outdated links, outdated and contradictory information, redundancy, irrelevant content, long videos in need of editing and typos that change intended meanings. It's like a book manuscript that has yet to be reviewed by an editor. This is unfortunately the least professional aspect of the program.
*The system that serves the curriculum is sluggish and has an inconsistent UI. Some lessons have a "Mark as Complete" button at the end while on others you have to scroll back to the top of the lesson and click a button to be forwarded to the next in order for the current one to be marked complete.
These aren't dealbreakers but hopefully my feedback helps direct resources to the problems. I look forward to being able to re-assess the program after further engagement.

Hey D,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Very glad to hear about your experience with the mentors and masterminds!

Greatly appreciate your input on the curriculum as well. This is in review and being further developed for ease of use and more coherent education. It's very helpful to know your experience going through it, these points are being taken into account.

We're excited to work with you in the program!

Sincerely,
The Newchip Team

Strong program

I've been very impressed with Newchip so far. The curriculum is excellent, and the team of venture fellows and instructors are very smart and helpful. I found one amazing mentor through the program, yet two other attempts to connect to mentors yielded no results. I'm currently in Investor Relations and looking forward to meeting quality investors.

program review (seed track)

Hi all,
the thing I like the most about the accelerator is the high quality curriculum and the excellent mastermind sessions with our so-called Venture Fellow.

Can't say I "enjoyed" the pitch reviews as much but I recognize they were helpful and high quality even if I initially disagreed with the comments. I have no comments yet on IR or Demoday.

Great program for startups to prepare for VCs

Focus on the mission to introduce startups to investors. The program is well structured and gives a good foundation to seeking investments through tutorials, mentorship and review sessions. Investor Relations team does a good advice on preparing for investor meetings/due diligence process.

I am very grateful to have been asked…

I am very grateful to have been asked to join New Chip! This has been a very enlightening experience for me since the start.
So far, Ive been able to improve my pitch deck with the help of honest and pointed feedback and recommendations, have worked to further clarify our expenses, and learned a ton from the modules in the Cohort and Onboarding programs.

I'd like to specially highlight people like Connor Mariluch who have been exceptional resources for me personally.

Great Start

We are in the early stages of the accelerator but so far the education has been great. Learning how to transition from pitching angel investors to institutional money has been beyond helpful and we look forward to continuing to receive help in order to take our company to the next step
