Newchip 

Our time at Newchip definitely had its ups and downs, but we are still satisfied in the end. Here's a pros and cons breakdown of our experience.

Pros: Don't give up equity to participate - $5,000 fee is reasonable. Extensive curriculum highlighting the entire roadmap and all aspects of starting a company/fundraising. Great access to external mentors through their mentorship platform (take advantage of this!). Monthly, small cohort sessions were very helpful and our cohort of founders still stays connected even after graduation. Some relevant introductions to institutional investors. Great partner resources + discounts to many things that startups need.

Cons: Overall, there's some general disorganization/lack of promise-keeping. Keep in mind, Newchip is also an early startup and are working to improve regularly. There was definitely some things promised when we signed the acceptance letter that weren't delivered as the program was modified while we were participating. Lack of understanding of what steps were necessary to complete curriculum, get accepted to investor relations, etc. Investor relations team faciliated some very irrelevant investor connections based on the stage of our company (pre-seed). There was no dedicated resource to go to for some specific questions, no main point-of-contact to direct you where to turn when looking for some answers. General communication issues (sharing info with investors that was innacurate, choosing a program-long mentor for us that had no relevant connections or experience in our industry, etc.).

Overall, Newchip definitely has some kinks to work out to get to the level of a YCombinator, but in the end, we were still satisfied with our time in the accelerator and our company wouldn't be where we are today without Newchip.

Good meetings And followup, but was placed in seed and as we connected investors it was clear that we was a pre-seed company.

There are a ton of different accelerator programs out there, and (from what I've heard) most don't deliver a lot of value. Newchip stands above the crowd, by offering a very specific focus on fundraising. They provided the right amount of learning material (a deep dive on the most important aspects of fundraising, without extra time wasting filler material or obscure concepts that rarely occur), and the tools needed to hit the ground running with our preseed raise. I have a strong technical background, and Newchip's tools and resources were exactly what we needed to craft a compelling narrative which resonates with investors.

Newchip provide a comprehensive overview and a large amount of resources to help early start ups to excel.

I learnt much during this time. The pitch opportunities were also very valid. They connected us to a number of funding opportunities.

If you are open to learning to better your startup business, you need to take this course.

You learn things that are not taught in "traditional" schools.

Plus you can have constant contact, wide-open availability to chat/email with your advisor to bounce ideas! This is valuable!

But the ultimate is contacting investors. You are a pre-qualified company because you took the time to learn about the world of investment funding.

Think about it....if you were an investor, who would you invest in???? A company who took the time to learn, or a company that thinks they know it all?

I had a great experience with Newchip. I highly recommend it.

I’ve gained valuable knowledge and skills. I’ve met people who master their craft and are willing to help us get prepared for a successful entrepreneurship journey. Newship has become a reliable partner for me who I’m looking to for guidance and advice.

Really nice sales people. I never went throught the accelerator, as I was asked 8k for it. They told us we are special, and they garantee money back if we don´t get investment. But the contract is very fluffy on that and we wouldn´t risk it.
It was a turnoff to hear in one of the calls the exact same pitch (you guys are amazing, I love what you do and I will try to get you past the board meeting) we were delivered to another startup (they forgot to mute). If you belive in our startup maybe asking for a % of investment would be a better business model? They have 50 new starups/ month... at least that's what they say... so don´t feel too special ;)

Newchip helped us zero in the critical points for us to bring our business to the next level. They identified our weaknesses and opportunities for improvement. Their teams also got us connected to potential partners and opened new avenues for funding.

They helped us zero in on our objectives by providing us expert advice. Their team’s experience was invaluable in giving us the competitive edge we needed to land investors.

The program felt very disorganized. I was not paired with a mentor until 2 months after I was told I would be paired, the mentor I was paired with ended up leaving Newchip after a few meetings. My program advisor never reached out to check in after our initial phone call and took 5 + days to respond to any questions I had via email, he also seemed inconvenienced/irritated that I was reaching out with questions at all. The masterminds were not helpful, our mastermind lead left halfway through the program and we were paired with someone else last minute that didn't have anything prepared. The investor relations team kept scheduling meetings with VC companies when I was not at that stage and needed to meet with Angels instead. The experience overall was poor and I would not recommend any early stage companies to Newchip. You can learn just as much through your own research and outreach for a lot less money. They are not as supportive as they sell themselves to be.

When you ask about conditions of participation, they say they don't require any share of your startup, but they aren't telling that participation will cost $5000.

I don't know if it worth it, but we're definitely won't be trying as such an approach is very unprofessional. Don't waste time on calls with them

Newchip accelerator that continues to give to its start-up teams. From unlimited access to industry resources to assisting start-ups in figuring out their business strategies, Newchip is the champion of business growth.

I am not much of an investor but I believed in this platform and believed in Ryan’s vision. Management has worked very hard over the last few years and the hard work is paying off. I am glad to be a part of NewChip. I still believe this is just the beginning and NewChip can achieve much greater heights.

What an innovative company, offering financial solutions for the times in which we live. Great company with fantastic leadership!
