£280 pcn for pushing a motorbike past a no motor vehicles sign

Went to corperation street in stratford nov 2023 to visit a friend who lives in the road. There used to be an open gate but instead there was two signs showing no motor vehicles. I got off my bike and pushed my bike forward 10ft and then rode to my friends. before november i had moved and updated my v5c a bit late. In june 2024 a debt company contacted me demanding £280 for a pcn. If i appealed i would have to send two seperate forms which would need to be signed by a court. The debt company said due to the time it takes the debt would go up. I called them today to ask for paymnet options and the only option was £100 a month??? So i had to borrow the money to pay it in full which has left me money issues. Apparently If i had ever received the PCN it would have been about £80 and i would have appealed it as i was not riding the bike but i have no option to pay £80 now. The road upto and beyond the sign i can use i just cant ride past the sign but i wasnt riding the bike. the two meanings i found is you can not ride or drive a vehicle past the sign and i didnt and no motor vehicles in the road ahead which is not correct. The debt company charge was about £75 yet the council could have got my details from the DVLA at a later date before instructing the company. Total scam especailly for my mate who lives 5 doors past the sign for the last 15 years and one day forgot and got a fine herself

Newham was a ghetto when I was growing…

Newham was a ghetto when I was growing up but now it has become a slum. MP's in Newham are on? Over £86.000 a year to do what? The East Ham MP was campaigning on High Street North to retain his seat this coming election and he seemed oblivious to the state of the street or the obvious gangs of pick pockets, drug users and general crime. He has failed to help people who have been to his office and on three occasions that I asked for help he gave encouraging words but failed to fight my corner even though he made it clear that I was in the right and had been treated very unfairly. On one occasion he told the chairman of Barking and Dagenham college that his letter of concern would be his final word on the matter. When I pointed out what he wrote in his email he never got back to me. The people who he has known for years have never had a complaint because he helps people he knows on a personal level or those who have template cases that he has won before. So many people complain about him but when it comes to polling day they still vote him in. When are minorities in this area going to wake up and realise that Liebor just use them to stay in power? They have no intentions of getting you out of the bottomless pit because they would lose your votes so they keep you in the cycle of poverty and despair to guarantee your vote, blaming everything on the Tories. Well the same MP has been our MP of over three decades and Newham has never improved even when Liebor was in number 10. Go to areas like Chelsea and see how many betting shops they have there. You would be lucky to find one yet Newham has around 86 according to latest data. Why has S.T not done something about this. Crime is through the roof and local services are beyond poor. People are quick to blame the Mayor but that is a poor excuse and people need to start laying the blame where it needs to be laid. S.T writes for our local Newspaper which is a very good strategy to stop people from complaining about him and it's wrong. Why should any MP have a second job if they cannot do their main job properly? People wake up and stop conforming to this third world standard of living. We are all worth more than this.

Just rubbish at everything there is no one department that should not be completely overhauled and outside managment brought in to strategic manage everything they want money spend beyond there means and can't build or maintain anything and as for going green just cut down trees and pave everywhere and leave rubbish piling high absolute 3rd world shambles generally they whole area around East ham to manor park is toast unsafe dysfunctional pile of rubbish. Only thing going for it are a few people doing the council work for them litter pick and trying to save there area from the erosion that is labour mismanagement of civil service

we will turn to the Member of…

we will turn to the Member of Parliament for help
you can repair the pipes from evening to morning non-stop for two years, but there is no reaction from the council or the owner of the apartment - completely ignored
however, all information about complaints and evidence is passed on to aggressive noisemakers
they do not hide it, they openly demonstrate their permissiveness and our powerlessness
it's sad when our tax money supports council officials, but it's hard to get help
you can see from the reviews that the council is reluctant to help the common man
and if the acquaintance of the noisemakers works in the city council, hope disappears completely

I have been having problems regarding…

I have been having problems regarding the Rubbish team leaving anything between 25 to 55 wheelie bins full of rubbish directly underneath my apartment. The local MP is involved. Thank God he’s a good human he’s trying to once again stop this from happening. My daughter has a lung condition, the smells flies that come into my apartment every time they leave the bins directly underneath my apartment I also think this is one of the highest council tax and you absolutely get no service here antisocial behaviour everywhere just not a nice place to live. We need to get rid of the mayor of Newham. I think she’s on around £150,000 disgraceful.

I recently appealed a parking ticket…

I recently appealed a parking ticket from Newham council. I parked in a loading bay and was dropping off parcels to a business in the stratford shopping centre. 10 minutes later, got back and my vehicle had been ticketed by tow guys in an unmarked car. They result to devious methods these days. Appealed stating I was on official work business and the council wrote back stating your vehicle was watched for 5 minutes and no loading or unloading took place. I provided proof that the back of my vehicle had deliveries and collections. The council think they've got everything sown up. Im writing to say I hope Newham council goes bust and has to be taken over by Central Government. There parking system is corrupt they feed on motorists as what they believe are rich pickings. I was going to reappeal but haven't go the energy. So I hope the money chokes you newham council. I have decided to pay not you have forced me.It suited me. I will make sure I never park anywhere near your borough again. At least I delayed in paying you the money and your officers had to spend time and money writing to me, Its been nearly two months since you ticketed and I would urge all motorists to appeal there tickets. Its all about revenue raising don't let the council tell you any different . And when the local politicians come to your door this year looking for your vote.... slam the door on them. Corrupt, unfriendly and unprofessional

NEWHAM is one of the worst places to live. There are places where they add temporary signs to give penalty charges. I was given a penalty charge over a temporary sign display overnight. it is Royal Albert Way E16. Honestly, I wish I could never go to this terrible borough.

Third world Council

Third world Council.
Any advice if you can't afford to pay the total of taxes. To spread it you need to look through google. They don't make it easy. They are waiting the date passed to charge all with "their partnerships" OneSource, who will send you to court previous their council commission.

New Ham council is the worst place in london to live, when you are disabled.

Such a poor council, it is so sad how they tread disabled people. Today, I parked at the road infront of my house. The parking bay is only for permit holder residents from 10 am to 2 pm. So I parked at the double yellow line and displayed my blue badge as I did not purchased a "resident permit for over 120 pounds a year". I displayed my blue badge, like I did always. By 2 pm I went out to park my car in the bay and received a pcn. The officer was at my car exactly 1 minute and issued me a penalty. I am now struggling to find 65 pounds and pay the council because I was parked legit.

I am struggling how to live in new ham as a disabled person because I think this enforcement officers are targeting disabled drivers to hit their own day to day kpi's.

ownpermissiveness of neighbors since 06/01/2022

support only their own, ignore complaints and say when they have not received anything!
a social council house is can drill at night, repairing pipes in one of the flats, strong deliberate beat every night from 6pm to 8am for almost two years
Inadequate conscious noise until two or three in the morning, children do not sleep at this time either, evidence has been sent to the council, but everything has been ignored, they have an acquaintance who works in the city council, and they know that no one will tell them anything
has even written to the mayor of NewHam, to no avail.
very sad when we are unprotected and helpless from aggressively noisy neighbors

Totally inefficient

Totally inefficient - where are all the staff - certainly not dealing with their paperwork or answering their phones!!
I am 78 years old and my wife is suffering terminal lung cancer. Got parking tickets, appealed to TEC and told needed to contact Newham, sent paperwork recorded delivery, never acknowledged, tried to contact them by telephone many times to no avail.
A debt collector from Onesource, with an enforcement notice, arrived totally unexpectedly wanting £1072.00. No reasoning with them they are just bullies.
Managed eventually to get hold of Newham who did not appear to acknowledge receipt of recorded delivery paperwork and was told that I had had my allotted time and they were stopping the call.
Very upset by all of this but cannot deal with the anxiety and upset so have paid this as it seems impossible to deal with such horrible people. Being older and vulnerable means nothing to them!

Summons letter for future payments

Hi,

I’ve received a court treating letter for future payments. Never received a council tax bill letter for 2023-2024, not even a warning letter.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?
