„Hund willkommen“

„Hund willkommen“: We would strongly advise anyone traveling with dogs to an NH hotel (in this case Jerez) to have the additional costs confirmed in advance. We asked by email what costs would be incurred for two small dogs weighing 6 and 8 kg each - the written answer was that dogs up to 25 kg are allowed and it costs 25 euros. These 25 euros were verbally confirmed to us at check-in: for both dogs! On the bill it looked different: the amount had been doubled and we had to pay 50 euros per night for “14kg dog”. We should contact management - which we did by email: there was no response to two requests for clarification. A hotel chain that offers such disguised price increases as an unpleasant surprise for its guests will definitely never see us again: 50 euros for two puppies is disproportionate and brazen, we are more than annoyed.

Terrible Customer Service at Hotel NH Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

On our first morning, there was a loud noise coming from the radiator, resembling the sound of a drill machine running in the room. We reported the issue to the reception, and they assured us that they would either fix the problem or change our room within the day.
When we returned to the hotel later that evening, no one mentioned anything to us, so we assumed the issue had been resolved. However, around 11 PM, the same noise started again. I called reception twice, and both times they promised to address it. After 15 minutes with no action, I went to the reception in person and explained the problem again. I even showed them a video of the noise.
They then informed me that the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do. One staff member from reception came to the room with me and promised they would "find a way" to resolve the issue. However, no one followed up. I ended up waking up every hour during the night because the radiator took 15 minutes to stop making noise each time it started again.
The next morning, I went back to the reception, and they finally agreed to change our room. However, it became clear that the night staff had lied about the hotel being fully booked and about fixing the issue.
This experience was incredibly frustrating. The poor customer service and lack of honesty were unacceptable. I will not be staying at your hotel again.

The hotel is fine

The hotel is fine, not great, but who in this day and age does not understand that many have respiratory issues triggered by chemical perfumes. The NH in Salamanca Spain has diffusers emitting heavy perfumes in every entry and the whole lobby. Because of the hotel design it drifts into upstairs hallways. The minute we stepped in the door my husband’s lungs shut down and everyone in our group had trouble breathing. This has ruined our stay. We asked if it could be suspended or at least lowered but were told it was “required”. Every time we hustle as quickly as possible through the lobby my husband ends up with serious breathing problems for an hour until it clears. The entire visit had to planned around trying to avoid the lobby as much as possible.

Bad customer service, buyer beware

This is a 4-star, soon to be 5-star NH hotel. When you stay at a hotel like this, you expect better than average service. Hotel was beautiful, breakfast great, initially staff was polite and helpful. I stayed only one night here and initially it was fine, check in was quick and efficient.

In the morning as I was showering/changing preparing to depart, I stepped into the room from the bathroom and because it was cold, I closed the bathroom door to keep the warmth inside. I got coffee and turned to open the bathroom door and it was locked. All of the clothing, my makeup, hairdryer, and 2 cell phones were now locked in the bathroom with no ability to unlock it. The room had no telephone. I put a coat over my pajamas (which was all that was left in the suitcase) and went to the lobby with wet hair, no makeup and extremely humiliated which was even worse when the elevator stopped to pick up additional guests on the way to the lobby. I quickly explained the situation to reception and she called maintenance to the room. Johan showed up about 5 mins later to assess the situation. He quickly said he had no keys to unlock the bathroom door because the hotel was being renovated to change to a 5-star hotel and they changed the doors, but left the old locks and did not leave keys with maintenance. I found that utterly ridiculous! He returned 10 mins later with a huge ring of keys and nothing worked. He left again and returned 10 mins later with large tools saying he had to break the door lock off in order to get the door open (see pics). We are nearly 45 mins into this debacle at this time. It took him 10 more mins to literally rip the handle off the door and use a screwdriver to turn the lock. Although Johan was my savior, the fact that a 4-star hotel had to do this in order to open a door is unacceptable. He told me to ask for a comp night, I agreed. Upon checkout (now an hour later than anticipated), I spoke with reception (who initially called maintenance) who looked at me like I had 2 heads and said nothing or offered nothing. I asked to speak with a manager (my mistake for not getting her name) who insisted “your stay was great until this happened and we took care of it immediately. I can’t offer you a refund because you used Booking.com and not our website. I can offer you 20% discount.” I asked if 20% was the standard for complete humiliation of a guest...she just stared at me. I asked again for a comp night (only about $200), she denied so I informed her I would bring a complaint against the hotel with booking.com to which she replied “we accept all reviews, good or bad.” I informed her a complaint was different from a review…she completely blew me off and walked away from the front desk. I filed a complaint and booking immediately went to the hotel asking for a refund, the hotel said no, so booking said no. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE that others decide what your humiliation is worth…and the hotel NEVER gave a 20% discount…I got NOTHING but attitude from them after this incident. Given this, I would NOT recommend this hotel because service is EXTREMELY important and when YOUR HOTEL humiliates a guest (in public) and does nothing to rectify it, they deserve a black mark. I’m quite certain I’m not the only guest who has been humiliated or blown off. I would NEVER stay here again…service is everything and this property is lacking!! BUYER BEWARE!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Stayed in their Colombo hotel in April and had nearly £1400 stolen from my room by their room boy. The hotel treated me like absolute dirt and refuse to give me my money back. The boy was in my room to “turn down” without my permission, less than an hour after I checked in. He admitted handling my purse but apparently “he’s a nice boy”. I spent two days in a Sri Lankan police station but nobody spoke English. The hotel head of security tried to bully me and it was all the worst experience of my life. I’ve been fighting for over 6 months to get my money back, but the hotel refuse to talk to me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

NH PISA

NH PISA
We stayed here for three nights. We were given adjacent rooms which was perfect for the family.
The hotel is ideally located opposite the train station, ideal for trips to Florence etc and only 5 minutes from the airport.
It is a modern hotel.
Clean room and comfortable beds.
Bathroom was good
The breakfast buffet was lovely with lots of variety.
The staff were very helpful
The air conditioning was good
Good sound insulation from outside noise

The only negative items were:
The hall carpet was a little stained , but clean
There was mould in the grouting and sealant around the bath. This could easily be sorted/ replaced / cleaned
Limited tea selection in the room which , along with the small milk cartons, was not replenished over the stay.
No English tv channels

Satisfactory room, bad booking partner

One star because the room in Naarden was satisfactory. Zero stars because they accepted my booking via an unsavoury online vendor. And were then unable to assist me in addressing the situation. Why does NH partner with such a company?

The worst customer service

They are only getting one star because it won’t let me give 0.
Stayed at the NH Budapest City hotel. Had bed bugs, which was confirmed onsite by their head of housekeeping. The hotel offered a full refund, which was never received. I have emailed the hotel several times, but not received a response.
The hotel also wouldn’t pay for medication costs incurred as a direct consequence of their bed bugs. They also wouldn’t compensate for clothes that needed to be purchased as a direct consequence of the bed bugs.

The whole experience with this hotel has been ridiculously disappointing and wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here.

Stayed at NH Hotel

Stayed at NH Hotel, Siena, Tuscany, Italy for 4 days as part of a Titan/Saga tour. Lovely hotel, room and bathroom spotlessly clean, staff friendly and helpful, especially the chef. Excellent breakfast catering for all nationalities, very comfy bed, good quality bed linen, despite room being at front of hotel facing lively street - didn't hear a thing. Good quality furniture, large tv programmed into BBC world service and a few other English speaking channels, whole hotel is fresh and clean. If I go to Siena again I would definitely stay at NH Hotel.

NH Ciudad de Valencia

Clean but shabby hotel with peeling wallpaper and damaged wooden floors and doors. Poorly planned bedroom no 303 where guests were required to climb over the bidet to access the shower / bath AND to lie on the floor to access the ground level room safe.
Good breakfast, but our request to transfer a pre - paid breakfast to a day when we had inadvertently failed to book breakfast was refused by the duty manager.
25 minutes walk to a great beach
30 mins crowded bus journey to the town centre.

No air conditioning

No air conditioning. Zurbano Madrid only has heat . The room was like an oven so had to sleep with windows open listening to traffic. Website says air conditioning but not true. You turn the air temp down to zero but only heat.
